The same friendly people, clean everything and small touches like actual packs of biscuits (not two packs of two) and a plastic bag to take used soap home. Nowhere else we've stayed thinks of details like that.

But we didn't get the sort of room we asked - and paid - for, which was rather annoying. I'm not one to make waves or complain, but that was disappointing.

HI Oz Thanks for your review. So sorry you didn't think your room type was right. I know we often upgrade rooms for no extra charge. Perhaps this had happened last visit. Either way let us know you are coming next time and I will make sure you have a complimentary upgrade if available. I am only presuming from your nickname that your surname( if this is you). The last visit was a 1 night on the weekend $150 in our deluxe queen wing. This time you paid for a standard room for 2 nights @ $135. Apologies if this is not you. Please feel free to call us at anytime during your visit to express your concerns and then we can fix it.. Kindest Regards Stay safe Deb

We stayed for two nights over Easter as all the accommodation in Canberra that was left was expensive. Turned out to be a great choice. The room has obviously been refurbished and has an endless supply of power points. Is very modern. The bathroom had two toilet roll holders and a heater in the lights. Only issue with that is the switches are marked incorrectly. The light operates the heat and the heat operates the light. Just a minor issue. The cotton buds and band aids in the bathroom was a nice touch. We had numerous different kinds of tea to choose from and were given a full pack of biscuits. Check in and out was smooth. The only thing I found odd was that they didn't make our bed up. Usually when you stay 2 nights anywhere they pull your bed up. The sink for washing up, cutlery and the microwave were all good. The hairdryer could do with an upgrade. A lot of places were closed over Easter but we managed to find places to eat. The black out curtains were good and being upstairs it was fairly quiet. Would stay here again. Is close to everything. We discovered a bbq area when we were driving out on the first night also. The Riverbank of Queanbeyan Cafe nearby is good for breakfast. We had a great stay thanks.

This is the first time that I have stayed here and it won't be the last time. Check in was quick and friendly. The room was very spacious, spotlessly clean and well appointed. I had a ground floor room - no noise from adjoining units, the street or from upstairs. Plenty of on site parking. Appreciated the full size cake of soap for the shower (and the invitation to take it with you on departure) as well as the full packet of biscuits. The tariff included a full breakfast- cereal, juice, toast hot dishes, tea/coffee - excellent.

Stayed two nights over Easter and was looked after well. Staff were friendly and allocated us a spacious king bedded room with a balcony. A daily breakfast of cereal, juice, toast and hot dishes was included in our rate and was enjoyed in their breakfast room. Some really nice touches such as a full size pack of biscuits provided with the tea/coffee facilities and a full size bar of soap provided with a plastic bag so you can take it with you to save it being binned. No noise from traffic and an easy walk across the bridge to restaurants and clubs. A well priced alternative to expensive hotels in Canberra and would happily stay there again.

We stayed here over the Easter weekend. As there were new owners taking over there was no service on the Friday or Saturday but they did supply fresh towels on the Sunday morning. You could get tea bags etc from the Office and they did provide a tea and coffee service with Muffins in the office around breakfast time. They do not have a breakfast service like they used to have which is a shame as this was one of the reasons that we decided to stay with them again. The staff were very friendly and there is plenty of car parking. There is a microwave in the room as well as a toaster and jug and cups, plates and knives and forks and spoons. We would consider stay here again but would like to see the new owners bring back the breakfast which used to be included in the price of the room. Maybe a box breakfast is something they can look at. This motel is in easy walking distance to the Queanbeyan Leagues Club or the shops. As this motel is on the main road it was very quiet.

Thanks Tullagirl (love that name) It's wonderful to see our repeat customers both old and new. Yes our cooked breakfast was amazing but things change and majority of our guests are enjoying the muffins, croissants and cafe bar also. As you say the rooms are well appointed for our travellers. Thanks for being a wonderful customer and look forward to seeing you again soon..

Stayed march 23 owing to Clyde Mountain closed and staff are very helpful booked in for 2 nights but OK to leave if road conditions improved which they did. Had crumbed lamb culets for dinner we shared one meal and was able to get an extra cutlet $3.00 so we both had 2. Served with salad and chips I was surprised as to how good the food was 10 points. motel gave us the quietest bedroom and was good except lots of people revved the crap out of their engines first thing but all over a good experience

Liked everything, it was really, really good👍
the comms from the hotel was excellent!
the staff are amazing and listen to their guests!!!
there were also hotel staff everywhere, they were very friendly and polite. the location is very good and always had parking, parking bays spaciously wide to guarantee a stress free parking. rooms very clean, the linen fresh and smelling nice, bathroom had everything and a high, comfortable toilet seat (that is for a taller person👍)
lovely towels and toiletries. kitchen very well equipped and would give it 10/10 but the fridge was a little bit too small for my liking, but good enough. the air con worked perfectly on those subzero winter temperatures! very enjoyable stay overall and highly recommend👍

I stayed a few months ago in a modern room and enjoyed my stay. This time the room was awfully decorated and strong smell of smoke.

It’s not worth 180 a night and I’ve decided I’ll be staying in Canberra on business trips in future

This really is the best kept secret hotel around Canberra. Fully refurbished, the interior is as good as any of the hotels close by that charge triple the price (and I’ve stayed in a lot of them). The staff are lovely there’s free barista, coffee and muffins etc in the reception area and it’s centrally located to any part of Canberra. Even though it looks like it’s on a busy circle, the rooms were so quiet. I didn’t even know I was near traffic. Full price point And quality in this star rating hotel. I don’t think you will find a better room in the ACT.

We had 2 rooms booked here as we were catching up with relatives who live out bush in this area. The Manager Deb has a great sense of humour and we enjoyed liaising with her before our stay. As promised, she had allocated us adjoining rooms on the first floor with balconies. The rooms are large and very clean. They are old fashioned in style but have been done up with good kitchen appliances to do your own brekkie if you want. We liked the full cake of soap and the little bag to take it away with you (I did!) and the full pack of Aldi biscuits. We also noted the Aldi tea (we love fellow Aldi shoppers).

A convenient place to stay in this area.

One small thing - the TVs have an odd switch by the bedside that you need to switch on before they work. We had to call Deb to learn this... A sign might be helpful.

That's lovely review wombat. Yes the switch is old fashioned and handy at times. Not so much theses days of remotes of course. We like old fashioned it should make a comeback one day.. We have found Aldi to be great value for us that way we can give a whole pack of bikkies instead of those squidgy packets most motels provide for nearly the same price. It was great to meet you and your family. Hope to see you again when over this way. Deb
