Great friendly reception, clean rooms and quite location . Location about 2km from centre of Port Macquarie so not ideal to walk into centre , you need to drive in to centre - parking in centre mostly 2 hours .

We were booked to stay here overnight on 20th March. I was concerned about the rainfall so rang and spoke to the manager. She advised some minor roads were closed but gave instructions for best way to get there. The following day as we were driving from Gold Coast to Port Macquarie she rang back to advise the roads further on from Port Macquarie were closed and that we would need to find an alternate route to Sydney. She checked NSW roads website and advised of a number of routes to divert to New England Highway and how to cancel booking through booking.com and to rebook soon and our new route. So we didn't actually stay at Aston Hill but her efforts went above and beyond what you would normally expect. I cannot thank her enough as it made the detour possible with the least amount of panic. Absolutely fantastic.

My husband and I have stayed many times at Aston Hill Motor Lodge over the past 6 years. We have stayed in different rooms at the motel and apartments and we now have our favorite. All the rooms have been very clean and well appointed. The staff are friendly, helpful and accomodating. I don't hesitate rebooking at Aston Hill when we regularly visit Port Macquarie. It has become my 'home away from home'!

Arrived in a room of what we thought was nice until we found a couple of issues. Issue 1 We are smokers and asked for a smoking balcony which we got but we had no access to the balcony due to the sliding fly screen door being un-openable. We called the manager and she came with WD40, keys and a screw driver trying to unlock it for 40 minutes when we were getting ready for dinner, she was unable to fix it therefore having to call a locksmith to come at lunch time the next day. It also caused a fire hazard as the balcony exit was a fire escape. Issue 2 Turned on the bedroom tv the first night and noticed a thick yellow line from top to bottom. Issue 3 Hairdryer kept overheating and tripping out, smelt like burning had to be turned off after only a few minutes. Issue 4 Very loud plumbing from the unit above Issue 5 Dishwasher smelt like mould as soon as it was opened Overall Was told the motor lodge was close to centre of town but was a 10 minute taxi ride, parking was terrible we parked on the grass out the front, bed was uncomfortable and coffee cups that were provided weren’t clean.

Issues like this ruin the atmosphere for a good stay. The incidents were reported to me and all have been addressed, as stated below. 1. As you confirmed the door was fixed the next day. The problem we find on the coast is that the locks seize without notice and when we apply a special lubricant it usually fixes it. However not this time. Sorry about that. 2. The TV has been replaced. 3. Hairdryer has been replaced. 4. Yes, it is unusual for the plumbing to respond like that. When the apartments were constructed double sound insulation was inserted which normally handles that. I must admit that when young children jump around upstairs some noise does penetrate the insulation. Usually, they are in bed at a respectful hour and we do not receive complaints in this area. 5. Dishwasher completely overhauled to remove any odour. Overall: I often walk to town whereby it takes a 15-minute leisurely walk. If you want to visit the Westport Club it is 8 minutes away. The restaurant has big glass windows overlooking the Hastings River. It is worth a visit. Incidentally, the town centre is 4 minutes by car. The apartments you stayed in have 4 secure car parks, however, on occasion, the car parks are taken and we have permission for you to park in the adjoining parkland. We are located in a quiet residential area and your car is safe being parked there. All our beds are Sealy pillow top Posturepedic beds which surprises me you were uncomfortable sleeping in them. The coffee cups were addressed with our housekeeper who assure me they are cleaned within our very strict COVID guidelines. I sincerely apologise if you left our accommodation under a cloud of discontent. Our Housekeepers strive to meet all the daily challenges especially now there is so much additional work in having the motel meet our COVID safe commitment. I hope my explanation is satisfactory and again apologise for the stress you experienced while staying with us.

This was a truly lovely place to stay. I stayed here for over a week, it was so comfortable. The best was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and the shower temperature and pressure was perfect! It was very clean and well kept, with big windows that let in lots of sunlight. I felt right at home and the staff were so kind and hospitable. I would strongly recommend staying at Aston Hill Motor Lodge.
