Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked late and there was very little available in Port Macquarie as there was an Ironman event on. We were in room 106 (disabled room) on the ground floor. Receptionist was lovely, rang to find out our ETA as we were arrived on the Saturday and the office closes at 5pm. We were not arriving till 5.30 and she kindly waited for us to arrive. The motel was full. We had to pay in full before we arrived. Car Parking was at a maximum and the car park spots were tight to drive into. The room was clean and tidy. Not sure if it was because it was a disabled room but the very small towel rack was above the toilet, which I thought was weird. No where to hang larger towels. Has a small kitchenette. There are table and chairs but for both of us to sit around , we had to pull table out. One of the coffee mugs was dirty, I had to wash it. The walls are thin here, can hear the toilet being flushed next door. I had to pull the bedside table away from the wall to put my phone charger in, its on a main road and very noisy. Sorry, but I think this is overpriced for what we are getting. As it is a disabled room, I am assuming the room size is slightly bigger than other rooms. Which is nice. Only here for a night.
Also, I would have liked a free curtesy water bottle.

I have stayed here a couple of times now and find it a very convenient and comfortable place to stay on road trips between QLD and NSW. Staff are very friendly. It is conveniently located (two doors down the road) close to the Settlers Inn Pub (relaxing pub dinner). Will stay here again on next trip.

Stayed overnight on a road trip. The service was excellent (reception even rang me after I had left to tell me I had left a jacket behind, so I was able to double back and collect it). The room was comfortable and fairly clean and I liked the little outdoor patio, and having a large screened balcony door to let fresh air in. Bathroom large, shower had great pressure but the shower cubicle could do with better cleaning. Toaster supplied which was good. Air conditioned and a ceiling fan. Good lighting. The only downside was that all the power points are opposite the end of the bed, so if you use a CPAP machine or want to recharge gadgets, you need an extension cord. Other than that, very pleasant and well-priced accommodation.

Worst place. Charged for a broken light switch. Manager was rude and charged us $114 which actually comes under property maintenance. The money was taken out of our bank account without any talking to us. And continued to blame us for other things that were wrong such as a light not being fitted correctly. Definitely wouldn't have been able to reach it. I contacted the person that they got to come and put another switch in and they told me the owners have not changed that light switch in years it was actually very brittle. Floors were filthy stains on sheet. Curtains need washing. And coming from the top floor rooms downstairs the light didn't work so that could have been a huge accident. The manager asked why we didn't report it straight away the reason was it was after hours and we didn't think that an electrician would want to come out at that time just to fix a light switch. People can go without a light. We just wanted to let the owners know so that it could get fixed and this is the response. There was no concern for the person that actually tried to turn the switch on as this could have lead to them getting an electric shock but just blame.

We stayed for one night on the way home to the south coast. The room was very spacious and we had a separate kitchen area with it's own sink and washing up liquid. (It's the little things you appreciate when you are on the road)! there was a microwave too. We had a big accessible bathroom. Check in was friendly and efficient. It was a pity we were only staying one night.

The motel is located on the outskirts of town as you are coming in from the north. There was a bit of traffic noise, so ask for a room away from the road if it bothers you.

Would stay here again.

This was no "Executive Queen" ! By far the worst bathroom I have seen in over 50 years of motelling.
The shower resembled a Truckies' Pit Stop. Grime and decay clearly indicated poor management and maintenance practices.
The $12 pair of tap handles, flex hoses and the $16 toilet seat had been there since the early 90's.
Pictures to prove it all.
Expect others rooms of the same standard.
Sydney offers 5-star family rooms for the same price.
Be warned.

We were a little dissatisfied, the room was basic we didn’t even know there was a pool, reception on arrival wasn’t the best.. Terrible toilet paper and the minimalist amount supplied.. very noisy.. First morning we asked to get the room serviced and fresh towels we were told to put the door tag up which we didn’t have so we were assured it would be done which was not when we came bag later that evening, we had wet towels because it wasn’t done.. we had to chase them up yet again the following morning because we still didn’t have the service door tag.. We wouldn’t stay here again.

My ratings are all relevant to what was advertised. We booked the “premium room” because it was advertised with a Jacuzzi and a nice outdoor area. The booking also said it was only $101 which turned out to be in USD so we paid $145 instead. When we arrived, the room was nothing like the photos, no jacuzzi, and did have an outdoor area but just facing brick walls on all sides. We specifically chose this place because we’ll be coming from a long drive and we’d like a hot jacuzzi bath to relax before we get back on the road again. When I asked the reception about it, they said “oh yes, it’s in some rooms but not all of them” so we are getting charged the same with or without the jacuzzi. The internet was also so bad that we couldn’t get through a movie. The bathroom window can’t be closed so it’s effectively outside temperature in there when you’re taking a shower. I have other things I can complain about but they are tolerable. It’s a motel, I’m not expecting 5-star service. But I was at least expecting the basics and what was advertised. Don’t believe the photos. If you can find other motels in the area go there instead.

Hi Abigail, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We do apologise that outside booking agents don't advertise as they should. Unfortunately it is out of our control that they advertise in USD, and we have altered the advertising of our spa rooms so if you book a spa room you will get a spa room. We understand that you were disappointed that you didn't get a spa room however if you ring direct and speak to one of our staff you could have specified the room you wanted. In relation to the other issues you have brought up, we have never had any complaints in relation to the room you were in so it seems you are lashing out as you booked the wrong room type. Kind regards Julie

We stayed in the Deluxe Queen room, room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Bar fridge had snacks ( to buy) free tea/coffee and milk supplied. We only stayed 1 night as my we found the bed to be to hard for us, my partner has severe back issues and the bed was no good for his back. Other then the bed the stay was perfect. Definitely head to the settlers inn next door for a great pub feed.

We stayed overnight here on the way back home and were very very impressed with the quality of the property and the value for money for what you got.
The bed was super comfortable, the room was spotless, you had your own private little courtyard and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.
