Great location - handy to beach, restaurants, short drive to town BUT not all is as promised. Ground floor accessible unit has stairs front and balcony door which meant lifting an 85kg man in his chair up the stair every time we came home. Heated pool was not HEATED which was disappointing. WiFi only worked sitting out on the balcony not indoors and not at all on our lap tops. If I was holidaying during summer I wouldn't care about the pool and the location is ideal but shouldn't advertise what you can't give

We have stayed here twice before and will be back again next year. The location is fantastic with views of the ocean from the lounge, balcony and bedrooms. Watching whales from the lounge room is just a perfect way to spend a holiday. The staff are wonderful and very helpful.
The open deck on the top floor is a great place to hang out and watch the whales or just relax on the sun beds. The pool is wonderful and clean.
The apartment is spacious and well appointed. Having a laundry is a great feature for people staying for few days.
Can't wait to return.

The location of these apartments is great, right opposite Flynn’s beach and close to some really good cafe and restaurant options. The pool is nice, and heated.
Apartments above the ground floor do not have a lift, so difficult if you have prams and young children. The apartments themselves are very spacious with two balconies and large rooms but the interiors are old and there was a strange smell in the apartment.
Reception was very responsive to any issues.

It is advertised as "Wheelchair Accessible" but this is only partly true. Beware if you are an Independent Wheelchair-user as you will not be able to stay independently as access to the Apartment that is advertised "Accessible" is via a vestibule accessed only via steps and the alternate ramped access to the Sliding Patio Door does not have a lock only an internal latch on it rendering it useless.
There is also a Basement Carpark which is o.k. if you have a powered wheelchair but there is no dedicated Ground level accessible parking for the Apartment.
Best travel with a Loved One or Family Member/s if you absolutely have to stay there.

We have stayed here before and once again we had a great time. Apartments are located opposite Flynns Beach, moments from good local cafes, and are also a very pleasant walk into town. The walk up to Lighthouse Beach along numerous beaches is also wonderful with spectacular coastal views. Great to see whales breaching off shore! The apartment we stayed in was spacious, clean and well appointed. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the balcony with views of the ocean. Manager was also very friendly. We'll be back!

Family have never been to Port Macquarie before. Stayed at this place for 4 nights and were happy with pretty much everything.
The location is great and the beach is literally across the road.
Rooms were large and very comfortable.
We stayed in room 16 (6of us) and we could really make ourselves feel at home. Staff were very pleasant.
The pool is great and clean. There are free DVDs to hire etc.
The whole place just has a nice, comfortable feel to it and would definitely stay here again if we come back to Port Macquarie.
Only negative is the carpark is a bit pokey. If you have a large car you might have a bit of trouble manoeuvring.
All up a great trip and a great place to stay

We stayed in a 3 bedroom groundfloor unit for 2 weeks. The unit was very large with 3 good sized bedrooms, lounge, dining and kitchen. More than big enough for 6 people (there were only 3 of us). Bed linen and towels clean. Comfortable beds and a great hot shower. Some issues with cleanliness. Bathroom was slightly mouldy and grouting needed cleaning. We had to wash the frying pan as it had grease from previous tenants, the oven trays were in a similar condition. The complex would be very noisy during busy periods and most balconies or patios are not private. The complex is advertised as being close to the beach which it is as the crow flies. A busy road needs to be negotiated and the stairs to the beach are quite steep and long making it difficult for those with mobility issues or small children. Overall though we enjoyed our visit.

Nice location with ocean views. Difficult to get luggage up and down stairs. Unit comfortable but, mattress very hard and either had to sleep right on edge or you would roll into middle. Heated pool definitely not heated lucky it was warm making the pool refreshing.

Hello, thank you for leaving your feedback. Thank you for bringing this to our attention so we can address this ASAP. Our gas heated pool is on a timer to turn on periodically throughout the day. To be environmentally friendly, we can't have this running throughout the entire day.

Was looking for an apartment with laundry facilities and this was the only one I could find available at short notice - no wonder... Driving into the property and we noticed how filthy the car park was - leaves and cobwebs everywhere. We then walked up 2 flights of stairs to our apartment and even in the stairwell there was cobwebs - I didn't want to touch anything. The air conditioning units were outside each room and they were dirty and rusty...
We went into the room and the smell of bleach from the cleaning products was very strong, the room felt damp, clean but damp. The bathroom shower curtains and tiles were mouldy - new shower curtains are a cheap fix but would have made a huge difference.
There is a washing machine and dryer in the apartment - unfortunately there was no detergent to use so I had to walk to shops to buy my own - luckily it was a short walk.
The beds. Yuck. I have never slept in a hotel without cotton sheets until now - these sheets were revolting - besides the overwhelming smell of bleach, they were a cheap damp feeling fabric that made me itch - I ended up wearing long pants tucked into my socks and my husbands hoodie (over my head) so I didn't have to feel the sheets on my skin. It was revolting.
We asked to connect to the internet but at $8 per hour we decided not to...ridiculous prices.
Finally the next day we left and when I arrived home I realised that I had lost my purse so I called the Beachside who apparently had a look around the room and car park and couldn't find my purse so I then spent the next few days calling around police stations, service stations, and then RTA, banks etc the have all my ID cancelled and reissued. 2 weeks later I received a call from Beachside saying they found my purse under the couch...actually another gust found it and handed it in (in 2 weeks they obviously hadn't cleaned under the couches themselves). They would send my purse back when I send them a prepaid satchel. After going through the time and expense of everything - they still made me pay to get my property back.
I would absolutely never stay at this property again - I would rather sleep in my car...

Response from beachsidepm, Manager at Beachside Holiday Apartments
Responded 9 Nov 2012
Thank you for your review on Beachside Holiday apartments. We are always happy to receive feedback from our guests so that we may continue to improve the facilities and services here. I apologise for the lack of cleanliness in your apartment and sorry that you felt that Laundry detergent should have been supplied. All our apartments are self catering, however we do provide complimentary toiletries to see you through your first day. All our bed Linen is a fine quality cotton, so I cannot explain the problem with the sheeting on your bed, but I am sorry that this happened, but I have never experienced this problem before now. Regarding your lost purse - this was found wedged down the side of the lounge and I apologize for the inconvenience of your "lost cards". We have a huge amount of personal belongings left behind, and being a "one man" show it is difficult to get away to the Post Office to send items back and then claim postage, therefore, we ask that guests send us a pre paid envelope so we can return their items promptly. I hope that next time you are in Port Macquarie, that you stay with us again so that we can make amends and enjoy yourselves. Best wishes Neroli Manager

If you found a service apartment called "beachside holiday apt" - do NOT even think to stay there. I had such an extremely unpleasant experience during my stay. The owner of that motel is an old couple who does not know how to run the business. They were extremely rude (I have never been treated that way in my entire life), they threatened us by locking us out, the old man screamed and swore at us - is that how an old man supposed to behave, especially being a motel owner? We were late to check out by 1/2 hour and they charged us another night stay.
A friend of ours got similar experience and had warned us last year not to stay in this apt, but since they offer pretty good rates, I thought I'd give it a try. I have been in total regret since then. I had to pay so much more at the end anyway. It had ruined our holiday!! I should've make a booking for a real hotel, it will leave us a much more pleasant holiday experience.
Cheers
