Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The rooms were adequate, a good size, the aircon was good. The view from our room was to the keg and pallet yard which is hardly acceptable when you are in wine country. On Friday and Saturday nights the bar and bistro is pumping, and they have a live band, which is great fun if you do not wish to go to sleep until the early hours of the morning, but they do supply ear plugs in your room. When we booked there was no mention of some rooms this close to the action. If you are looking for a good pub, good drinks and a variety of music, then this could be your venue!

Don't stay here. Our room looked very tired and had a really weird stale smell to it. The carpet was gross and sticky and the heatpump was useless not to mention filthy (possibly why it didn't work efficiently). We only planned to stay one night but left after spending a couple of hours trying to cool the room down and get rid of the flies. Had a drink in the bar which was okay but no-one bothered to wipe tables down when people left so they were also gross and sticky. I didn't have huge expectations - just clean and tidy would have been nice.

Run down, dirty and in need of a renovation. Absolutely not worth what we paid. We stayed in room/apartment 106 with 3 bedrooms and we were informed after entering the ducted didn’t work and hasn’t worked in a year. And that the only aircon is in the kitchen at the opposite end of the apartment. The girl on the phone asked if we wanted maintenance to look at the air conditioner. That wasn’t the issue. It was working fine if we wanted to sleep in the kitchen. We stayed with a heavily pregnant person and a baby and we were all sweating and wildly uncomfortable. On top of this there were no fans in rooms. Even with the aircon on full ball and windows shut for hours while we went there, we still came back to a hot box. No help from reception to just simply offered complimentary breakfast and apologies that there are no other rooms available. Honestly ridiculous. On top of this, the rooms were not even nice. I’d probably pay half the amount to stay here. The remotes batteries were dead. Don’t waste your money.

This accommodation is not worth the cost at all! The rooms are neat and clean but certainly less than expected for the cost. The rooms could do with some upgrading. Nothing was explained on arrival , for example pool use or breakfast arrangements. There is no excuse for this as reception certainly wasn't busy when I arrived. This is average accommodation and is worth paying an average amount for! Very disappointing.

This is possibly one of the most overrated and over priced places to go. The rooms are so badly in need of renovations that it’s beyond belief. Power points hanging of walls, stained carpet broken vents and shower doors that don’t work, at $450 a night it is disgraceful. Won’t be back and definitely would not recommend this place. The sticky tape holding the front door together is just incredible.

Clean, quiet and spacious room. Staff at reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and capable. Good range of dishes in the large restaurant but prices a little high (Due public holiday). Will happily return.

Dirty, moldy, run down, mice eaten biscuits, broken lights, filthy carpet and unhelpful staff are just some of the experiences you will encounter at Harrigans accommodation. Despite booking 12 months in advance, they stuffed up the reservation, but took no responsibility for it as the girl we booked through was no longer working there. We had 4 adults and 3 children. We were told the 3 bedroom apartment we booked had 2 rooms with queen beds, and 1 room with 3 single beds. On arriving there was 1 double bed, 1 king bed, 1 queen bed. They refused to help and said it couldn’t be configured as promised now and if we wanted enough bedding, we would need to pay for another room for another 2 nights. Staff are terrible. We stayed to attend a wedding that was there, however would certainly never return.

Harrigans Irish Pub and Accommodation is an ideal place to stay in the Hunter Valley. Handy to everything, only a short drive to the Gardens which are definitely worth a visit. Harrigans has on site restaurant and bar making it easy at the end of the day. Room was very comfortable, good size and clean.

I stayed in room 511. The outside of the hotel had cracked tiles, cobwebs and wasp nests on the wall. Inside the room was incredibly dated with well worn furniture and a bathroom in serious need of renovation. The room was dusty and there was mould in the bathroom. This is expensive accomodation for the lack of amenities.
