We stayed only one night but would love to go back. Carriages is set in a small vineyard in the countryside, in the heart of the Hunter Valley wine district. We found our room on the first floor of a cottage in the gardens, beautifully restored with a great attention to detail. Nice bathroom, fireplace in the middle of the... More

Set down a lovely tree lined road, close to some very good restaurants, and many vineyards for hours of wine tasting. The room was immaculate, big, and very tastefully set out. Bathroom excellent, tons of hot water, and the king bed very comfortable. The breakfast basket was filled with goodies to tempt the most fastidious person. The only thing missing... More

We went to Carriages for the weekend of the Rolling Stones concert. It's a family run business with a relaxed, peaceful and relaxing setting. The wine is exceptional, especially the award winning rose. Breakfast is great and Id highly recommend Carriages for a trip to the Hunter valley. It's close to all the main vineyards in Pokoblin -

A gorgeous place to stay, lovely salt water pool and a wide veranda to take breakfast on. Stroll across the vineyard for dinner at Roberts Circa 1876; remember to take a torch for the return journey, it's dark, but the stars are amazing. The staff were very helpful and had our room ready early for us to check in before... More

My fiancé and I stayed in Carriages for 2 nights along with another couple. Rooms extremely clean and comfortable, set in an idyllic setting. Reception staff were very approachable and professional. Breakfast hampers were amazing, which were enjoyed in the outdoors. If I had to find one negative aspect, it would be the lack of curtains in the bathroom window... More

On a three week whirlwind tour of Australia, we wanted to spend some time in a winegrowing area and chose the Hunter Valley for its proximity to Sydney. Carriages was the perfect spot for lots of wine tasting but also for relaxing and enjoying nature. We were particularly taken with the birds in the area and were entertained by a... More

We needed a relaxing spot to chill out away from Sydney for the weekend and this place did indeed live up to its reputation. The room was very comfortable and it was so nice to sit around an open fireplace that kept the room ever so cosy and warm. We were lucky enough to have dinner at Roberts restaurant next... More
