We have been privileged to stay in some of the most amazing places around the world! My family has lived in the Hunter for over 40 years and I have to say that our stay in Dejavu estate was one of the best places we have ever stayed! On arriving the gorgeous Jillian met us and walked through all the features of the villas! What I loved about the Villa was the cleanliness 10/10! The Villa is spacious and absolutely private which was absolutely paramount to our stay! The villa was so spacious and with an indoor and outdoor spa it was amazing! Highly recommend!
Superclean with a lot of thought put into the little extras. Lots of great places to relax, from the day bed, to the spa, to the chairs next to the fire pit. And we watched kangaroos across the gully whilst having our breakfast. Wow!!
Second time staying at this amazing property & strongly recommend for everyone to stay here! Extremely relaxing 3 night & was most definitely the recharge which we needed. Jill (Owner) is an amazing host who goes above & beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. Lovely bottle of local sparkling chardonnay in the fridge for arrival which is a great way to unwind if you have spent a few hours in the car. Indoor & outdoor spa & a very toasty double sided fire place which was perfect for the cool nights, there is also a reverse cycle air conditioner in the lounge room & also bedroom for the extremely chilly nights, lots of blankets supplied also. Hearty breakfast supplied on arrival to last the whole stay including plenty of juice & milk. Just an amazing property all round, please do yourself a favour & stay here! :) Thank you again for an amazing stay away, we will most definitely be returning again!! :) Jess & Adam xxx…
DejaVu Estate is our favourite place to escape. The villa’s are spacious, clean, comfortable and are filled with everything you could possibly need. Like a home away from home. The indoor and outdoor spa on your private deck just adds that extra layer of relaxation. Jillian and Brent are the perfect hosts
Wow what can I say ,this amazing ,5 star ,romantic luxury villa is beyond words. Jillian and Brett looked after us so well. Everything was thought of ,from the freshly baked muffins ,range of tea and coffees and breakfast pack .A lot of effort was put in and we really had the best time ever! We do like to getaway for down child free time and this place was absolutely stunning. The gardens were beautiful and the view was spectacular! Thank you so much for our beautiful stay and we shall definitely be back.
The ideal getaway for those who value privacy and relaxation. Located within an exclusive estate, with no one else in sight, this attractive, modern and clean villa is exceptionally cosy. With it's superb indoor and outdoor spa, it makes the perfect retreat to come home to after a long day out at the Hunter. This spacious villa is equipped with all the comforts of home including an outdoor bbq, large screen tv with surround sound and a modern kitchen supplying a wide variety of condiments including an Nespresso coffee machine. What is also enjoyable about staying here is the peace and quiet surrounded by local wildlife. Deja Vu is he only stay we continually return to when we're in the Hunter Valley and it has never disappointed.
3 night stay advertised as "NEW, PRIVATE, LUXURY villa with 2 open fireplaces" with an outdoor pizza oven - all things we really wanted in our stay. - It is luxury (except for the loose hand shower head holder that was useless on the holder and the sliding toilet door that needed to be lifted when closed as it scrapes on the floor and doesn't close and the outdoor day bed and furniture that was soaked wet from rain and covered in bird poo with no attempts made to dry or clean them) - we couldn't sit outside at all. - It is not new (photos on trip adviser are from 2013 and nothing has changed since then in the villa we were given). - The villa is tucked away towards the back of their property, but not completely private as they claim (the blinds are totally see-through both day and night - very disconcerting, the owner's house is visible from the villa through the lightly wooded trees, and the security light came on late one night). We booked on their internet page the villa named 'Glenfield' but were given the villa named 'Mangerton.' Pictures were of the villa we did not get. There was a woodfired pizza oven - in the other villa, not ours. The other villa had an undercover outdoor area from the photos - not ours. There are double open fireplaces but on arrival we were told they do not supply wood before May - we were told to put the air-conditioning on instead (because it was cold). We feel that for the amount of money paid for the villa, wood should be provided even if the owner has to buy it in, or state in the advertising that it is only provided in certain specified months. Instead we were told the handyman had struggled to cut it up for the pizza oven and then left it out in the rain. The villa on the whole was clean and the linen was clean and adequate, however, the room had not been serviced properly before our arrival - no bottled water (supposed to be by the bed) and a bottle of mineral water (required to be paid for on the minibar list) in the fridge half empty (the owner denied our side of the story initially until she found the replacement water bottles in the cleaner's bag), also there was someone else's long hair inside the vanity cupboard, some of the cooking utensils had to be washed before we could use them and the oven was dirty (we didn't use it). Advertises daily room tidy - beds not remade (we straightened them and kept the villa tidy ourselves), complimentary bathroom items not replaced, rubbish not removed, did take away the owner's used breakfast supply containers. Breakfast for all three mornings is in the villa at the start of the stay, so therefore no need for a daily room tidy. Owner said she would come between 11:30am and 1:30pm daily (except when she was going to be away one day) to check the spa and did not need to go into the villa. Other comments - villa spacious in size, the heated floor was lovely, a mixed potted herb garden was available, spices and condiments already partly used by other people - not COVID-19 safe, outdoor spa heated to a lovely 38 degrees but lots of mosquitoes - no mosquito/bug zapper. Found on the kitchen bench some chocolates and Muscat liqueur with a note for a "nightcap" on the last night - a nice gesture. Provided special milk as requested but labels for the full cream and light milk were mixed up. The carport is only secure because they have security gates upon entering the property. The ANZAC biscuits and two muffins were nicely provided on arrival. The owner did offer for us to contact her anytime with any concerns (which we did). Home brand products provided (for example cling wrap) with other items not labelled (for example the muesli and juices) which is difficult for people with allergies. The Hunter Valley information brochures in the villa were dated 2019/2020. Overall we had a pleasant stay because we had time away from our busy lives. However, based on our stay at this property, we would not return nor would we recommend it to anyone - we have stayed at a comparable establishment elsewhere that had privacy, promoted local produce, exceeded our expectations, was better value for money and where we received what was advertised and booked on their booking portal. We would like to recommend that some of the local produce including cheeses for a platter could also be provided to go with the complimentary bottle of wine from their vineyard and showcase the offerings of the Hunter Valley area in conjunction with other local producers.…
Beautiful place to stay for couples, so secluded in the middle of the winery. Beautiful villa with everything you need breakfast supplied each day. Great hosts that left little surprise gifts each day for us. Highly recommend
3 night stay. The villa location is great, very secluded, modern, great breakfast/cooking supplies. Wifi did not work for the entire stay (the device they use had no credit and/or was not activated). Owner advised on check in she would come and check the gas heater outside at midday (which we were told if we weren’t there she would check it externally and leave) Whilst we we out for lunch, with no prior warning, the owner entered the villa with her own key, did a few random things, (like filling the sink with hot water) and left. We had personal belongings everywhere and felt uncomfortable/unsafe for the rest of the stay.
We stayed here for four nights as part of our honeymoon and we didn't want it to end! This beautiful accommodation is secluded on private property, surrounded by country ambiance and serenity. Jillian and Brent were wonderful and generous hosts who showed us around on arrival. The supplies for breakfast were stocked the entire time, and the kitchen had everything we could have needed for our stay. The bed was very comfortable with high-quality linens and robes. Our only regret was it was not cold enough to light the beautiful double-sided wood fire, but we have every intention of coming back to make the most of it one day! Thanks so much.
