a mid week stay for three nights on a package deal. Wine school with Danny, and Segways were excellent. Breakfast was poor and did not rate well at all. Reception staff tried to be helpful. Wine tasting staff were good. Rooms marketed as luxury were old and dingy, looked clean but too many cockroaches. Dismal overall. We spent our time...

It seems your travel agent sold your group a 3 night “5 star Luxury Hunter Escape”. They did negotiate a value deal with us, also directly with the cheese people & segway operators. Nowhere in OUR marketing, do we say we are a ‘5 star luxury resort’. We say are a 35 room family owned and operated country inn or...

This trip was booked through a Luxury Escape, while the premises are clean it is very dated & could do with a decent makeover, it's more country retreat than luxurt escape, the water in the dhowers cuts in & out & the you can hear the people in the next room, the 'continental' breakfast could also do with a makever...

Rooms were large and clean - but don't expect a resort where everything is within arms reach, it is more a spread out rustic country hotel. Staff were all very friendly the whole resort has a family feel . The staff helping with our celebration were second to none especially Jess on the night who worked tirelessly and nothing was...

Room was very charming and spotless. Though it is advertised as a resort, It is more like a motel and I don't think it was worth the price we paid. We went on a one hour horse ride, it was lovely but I would have liked it better if the guide didn't have a long and loud conversation with another...

I was very pleasantly surprised by the Hunter Valley Resort. I had a minor booking glitch that was pleasingly rectified by the management so had a wonderful stay celebrating my partners birthday. Our allocated room was motel style accommodation. Fairly basic/rustic log cabin style but very clean and comfortable and warm. The grounds and amenities are a delight. Well kept...

This is a good place to stay but the rooms definitely need a bit of an upgrade. The staff are great, there is an excellent cellar door, micro-brewery, pool & restaurant. There are also Segways & horse riding that need to booked separately. We stayed on a Luxury Escapes package that represented fabulous value. I don't know if the value...

I stayed here as I had booked a Segway Tour which is on site and to sample the craft beers and wines so did not want to drive. The resort itself is nestled in the vineyards and quite picturesque. The rooms are away from Matilda's Bay Brewery so I didn't hear any noise. I stayed in a Hunter room overlooking...

An intimate dinner with 20 people to celebrate fine food and the wines of Andrew Thomas. What an experience - we got to taste some of the top wines from this iconic winemaker, perfectly matched with the food. Lovely setting, warm and inviting despite the cool weather outside. Highly entertaining and a great way to spend an evening. Highly recommended.

We had some trepidation about staying here after reading some reviews that weren't all that good. However, we found the Hunter Valley Resort to be a very pleasant place to spend our anniversary weekend. The rooms are comfortable and cosy but could possibly do with a bit of an update in the bathrooms. Not that it was unclean or dirty...

We have stayed at the Hunter Valley Resort previously, last time in a room that was part of the main complex. The stay was good, but we were seeking more privacy for this particular getaway, so opted for one of the cottages that were available. The cottages were a short distance from the main resort complex and had adequate parking...
