We had such a wonderful stay at Palmers Lane Estate. From the moment we got there, the host, Sandra, was friendly and welcoming. We received a bottle of wine and cheese platter on arrival. The cabin was private, clean, styled beautifully, had a well stocked mini bar, in a great location being a short walk to wineries, all making it the perfect getaway. Definitely a 5 star experience. It was the nicest cabin I’ve ever stayed in and will definitely be coming back.

We have just spent some time at the beautiful Palmers Lane Estate in the Pokolbin area of the Hunter Valley. We had stayed here previously when it was known as Pokolbin Cabins – a collection of timber cabins well-spaced in a superb rustic setting and surrounded by trees, dams, and birdlife with the occasional kangaroo grazing in the adjacent fields. The complex has had a change of ownership and now has more upmarket cabins with renovated fully equipped kitchens and new bathrooms. The facilities were excellent with a widescreen TV, WiFi access, parking right at the door of the lodge, BBQ, a great selection of bedrooms – our cabin was booked with 4 rooms as we stayed with some family members and children. There is a very nice swimming pool in the complex with sunlounges and a separate BBQ area – great on a very hot day. The cabins are well spaced so that you are not aware of other guests and the sites are very quiet and peaceful. All linen and towels are supplied, you only have to bring you own personal gear and what foodstuffs you wish to self-cater. There was a welcoming cheese platter and bottle of wine which were most enjoyable, the management do all they can to make you feel welcome. The beds were very comfortable and we all had great sleeps. The complex is only a few minutes drive from the heart of the Pokolbin area, the major vineyards and restaurants, and all the attractions for which the Hunter Valley is well known. For families it is fantastic – you can enjoy communal time, play games, watch movies or just read a book and sit and chat. A truly magic place for a few days respite and relax, we will certainly return, can’t wait.

3 nights wasn't enough! From the moment we got there we were impressed- Offered a free bottle of local wine (given 3 options), incredible cheese platter on arrival and a cute little sign in our cabin welcoming us. We had stayed there about 5 years ago before the renovations and I can say I am absolutely blown away by the difference and its all positives. All the rooms were bright and fresh but also had dark thick block out curtains to keep everything toasty warm in winter. In the loungeroom, the couches were comfy, the fireplace was perfect, the throw blankets were so soft and cuddly. The kitchen was my only issue and it was a very first world problem- the light was WAY too bright so literally the only improvements I could have wanted was a smaller light and a shelf above the splashback because there wasn't many places to put all our condiments, fruit, snacks, supplies etc. Everything else was perfect even on the day it was torrential rain, the office had a good selection of boardgames to keep my kids off devices so this place is a winner. Sadly, a family member passed away a week before we were supposed to stay at Palmers Lane and we contacted Guy with only 3 days notice to see if I could change the booking dates as we would be at the funeral and he was incredibly accomodating and understanding of the situation and didn't even charge us anything extra to amend the booking so I cannot speak highly enough about this place in all aspects. It was a great stay.

I live in Sydney and my parents live in East Maitland. I dont see them often and i needed to take them away and myself from the density of the suburbs and spend some time within the trees and natural energy. This place just made sense, and it did not dissapoint, the staff were informative and caring, they made me feel safe and comfortable. The 2 bedroom villa was perfect apart from the shower fogging the glass, no biggie, other minor thing was that the wifi internet kept cutting in and out. (If i had to work a lot more that would have bothered me) but seriously the wood interior is so nice, love the design, you can feel the quality in everything from the kitchen to the lounge, to the beds and the pillows and quilts, its not wishy washy crap this is the good stuff, so if you want the premium feels, then come here. There are also no distractions from neighbours too cause the other villas are far away. Its peaceful, and the wood fire is also super cool and warm. Beautiful getaway, ill be back, probably by myself, just to chill and hang out in nature. Loved it!

We had the most fabulous time here. We spent evenings sitting on the verandah watching the most spectacular sunsets while sipping red wine and grazing on platters filled with local produce. It was good for the soul and the perfect place to escape from the busyness of life.
Upon arrival the hosts were very welcoming and knowledgeable. They had some great recommendations for food and wine that did not disappoint. As frequent visitors to the Hunter Valley we have our favourite places, however they inspired us to try new things and discover new favourites. We were also pleasantly surprised by gifts of wine and a cheese platter! It had a Hunter Valley Brie that was simply divine.
Our group of 3 stayed for 5 nights in a cosy 3 bedroom cabin with one bathroom. There were thoughtful touches throughout from the personalised welcome sign as we entered the cabin to the heart-shaped chocolates on the beds. The bathroom was modern and clean (but could do with an exhaust fan). The beds were super comfortable and kept you toasty warm on some very cool nights/mornings. The log fire in the living room was lovely but there is air con if you can’t be bothered with the fire. The kitchen is small, but functional, and well equipped. The only minor issue for us was that there was no pantry storage for items we had brought with us.
We often spent time outside on the verandah enjoying the winter sun and watching the wildlife - kangaroos, rabbits, birds. Other times we would attempt to walk off our food and wine indulgence by doing a few laps around the property.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is pretty centrally located, where the accommodation is clean and well provisioned, surrounded by a delightful property, then I highly recommend you try staying here.

We had two 4 bedroom cabins for 12 adults and 5 children all 4 and under. The Cabins were beautifully decorated and furnished. The kitchen was very well equipped, good sized fridge with freezer, microwave with oven function, hob and loads of serving plates, dishes. All the cutlery, cheese knives and serving tools you could ever need. Also a dishwasher. Amazing array of glasses for drinking your winery purchases. Enough seating inside for everyone with dining table and lounges. There was a fire, TV and aircon in the living area. Beds were super comfy and all had ceiling fans, mossie nets on the windows. Bathrooms were clean and modern with soap, shampoo hairdryer etc. outside had more seating and benches for us all and a good BBQ.
The cabins were well spaced out so we didn’t have to worry about disturbing other guests and other guests did not disturb us. Perfect for large groups. The swimming pool was well used by our party. There were sun loungers and an under cover seating area. There were toilets at the pool area too. Also a tennis court available for use. We woke up to kangaroos around us which was lovely. The owners couldn’t have done more for us. The winery next door was friendly and accommodating (Horners) the wine in the cabins is from this winery, An excellent weekend had by all and we will definitely be returning.

Homely and comfortable lodges, spaced out across the well maintained property providing privacy and tranquility. Situated in a convenient location a short drive from wineries, Roche Estate, Harringtons, Hope Estate and Hunter Valley Gardens. A perfect location to base ourselves for our daughter’s 21st birthday.
Guy greeted our nephew on arrival and ‘couldn’t be friendlier’. A complimentary timber cheese board and knives as a take home gift was a really surprising touch. Thank you so much! Complimentary Hunter Belle cheese, fruit and crackers were amazing! As was the free ASH red wine.
Everything has been thought out for you. From the coffee machine to the exceptionally stocked kitchen, toiletries, sun cream and mozzie spray. The outdoor BBQ and the inside stovetop and convection microwave came in handy for breakfasts and for a homemade pizza dinner after wine tasting all day.
Plenty of space for parking, kangaroos and wallabies hopping by and ample manicured lawns to play games or just relax.
We didn’t use the fire, with well stocked woodpile, but could just imagine curling up on the leather lounges, sipping on a red.
Thanks for making our stay and daughter’s birthday with family so special. Highly recommend.

Booked a lodge for my adult family of 6 and have had the most fantastic weekend. The lodge was perfect, immaculate with all mod cons that we needed with great location managers who were really happy to help us enjoy our stay. The owners also had so much knowledge of the area which included excellent info of cellar doors and the wine tasting experience. We were greeted by kangaroos every morning and even enjoyed a hot air balloon display. Lodge was perfect based at a beautiful location, so much space between the lodges you can enjoy your privacy snd not have to worry about upsetting the neighbours! just booked again for October and we can’t wait!!

This is was our second time staying at Palmers Lane Estate, but our first time as just a couple. Wanted a quick little getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, and that's exactly what we got. The accommodation, location and surroundings were beautiful, and the little touches the hosts add made it that much more special. Couldn't recommend enough! Thank you again, Ashlie & Alex :)

We spent a fantastic week over Christmas at Palmers Lane Estate. A 5 bedroom lodge and 3 bedroom cabin accommodated our family of 10 adults and 7 children very comfortably. The facilities which included the pool and parklands were well utilised by all. We found our hosts Guy and Sandra very welcoming and friendly, who went far beyond in making our stay so memorable to the point of installing a washing machine to accommodate our large group and providing complementary cheese platters and wine on our arrival. We happily recommend Palmers Lane Estate to anyone wishing to holiday in the Hunter Valley due to its fantastic and unique accommodation along with its close proximity to this beautiful wine region.
