We have just spent the best 2 days celebrating our 45th Wedding Anniversary and my wife 75th Birthday . The Accommodation in the Chardonnay Cottage was superb and every thing is so clean and well presented not to mention the Cheese Platter and Complimentary wine on arrival.
The A la carte breakfast was simply the best we have ever experienced and on our Wedding Anniversary Evelyn prepared a 5 star home cooked dinner whist Stewart was our maître de and kept our wine glasses full and coffee on hand .
They are by far the best hosts we have ever experienced in Australia and Oversea . We have already booked for our Anniversary next year

We have just had a wonderful weekend, staying at the Red Door Collective.
The reason for the escape away from Sydney was to celebrate my 60th Birthday. My husband & I stayed in the Chardonnay Cottage and my 2 sisters stayed in the Semillon Cottage. Both cottages are exceptional.
Evelyn & Stewart are the perfect hosts, and make you feel more like family than a paying guest. There was no issue when I asked Evelyn if she could cook our dinner on Saturday night, and it was delicious.

The position and layout of the estate lets you relax, yet it is still close enough to allow you to explore the area without too much effort.

This is our 3rd stay at the Red Door Collective and each time we are so impressed.

Evie and Stewart are the most amazing hosts (by the time we left it felt like they were old friends), happy to give suggestions on places to visit, eat and do tastings.

The first day, we did a wine tasting including a cheese platter with them, their wines are so full of flavour (the Frizzante was an absolute winner for me). We stayed in Chardonnay cottage which was perfect, spotlessly clean and had literally everything we could ask for.

They even did the most amazing charcuterie board for us to enjoy on the patio while enjoying the sunset (highly recommend).
Breakfast each morning was exceptional and huge portions, we are coffee snobs and Stewart’s coffee was perfect 👌🏻.

We will definitely be back and with friends too 💕.

Like previous reviews we had a perfect getaway weekend. Excellent communication before & during your stay with Evelyn. The perfect hosts, Evelyn and Stewart make you very welcome and the little touches like birthday balloons and card in the room for my wife were very thoughtful. Complimentary cheese platter and bottle of wine were lovely. We stayed in the Pinot Suite. Spotlessly clean, well thought out comfortable space and very comfortable bed. Slept like a log and woke up in beautiful peaceful winery atmosphere. Kangaroos just going about their business whilst you chill out.
Lovely cooked breakfast with a pot of tea and great conversation with the hosts to start your relaxed day.
Would recommend staying @ RDC for anyone wanting great accommodation run by excellent hosts in a great location.
Thank you Evelyn and Stewart for making our weekend very memorable.
We would recommend The Mill for dinner, just a 5mins drive down the road.

In the Heart of Hunter Valley, Red Door Collective is a perfect accommodation for a couple getaway from the buzzling city life. You get a warm welcoming from the hosts Stewart and Evelyn when you arrive to reception area. We stayed in the Pinot Suite during Winter which was nice and cozy. The beds were very comfortable and warm even when temperatures dropped to 1'C. From the Suites you could see the Sunrise and Sunset which had magnificent views. Breakfast was delicious, which Evelyn cooked and the chilli relish is so good that we ended purchasing some. Stewart can make a great coffee aswell. RDC do offer wine tastings, which is worth if you get an opportunity to fit it in your agendas.
Definitely would visit again when staying in Hunter Valley.

The RDC is amazing. Wonderful hosts, excellent accommodations, excellent food - we loved it!! The lodgings are perfect and the RDC offers a perfect location for wine tasting in the Hunter Valley and perfect access to neighboring vineyards, hiking, cycling and sight seeing. You can go wrong with the RDC and in fact, your stay there will enhance you entire trip! We we're there in Juy 2019, and we can't wait to get back!! (the dates of travel below don't allow us to select 2019......sorry). Jim and Trish Ramsay

Our second visit to Red Door Collective and we stayed in the same cottage (Semillon) which is so well equipped and comfortable. A fantastic breakfast is included which makes a great change for self-catering accomodation. Mike and Evelyn make excellent hosts. Their wine is delicious too. It's a great location for exploring all of the Hunter Valley and then coming back and chilling outside watching the sun set over the vines. We'll be going back for a third time for sure!

Evelyn and Stuart are amazing hosts. Very welcoming and helpful. We are 2 couples and we decided to book a last minute holiday to RDC during Queen's Bday. As a result, we don't really have a defined itinerary. Both Stuart and Evelyn had great suggestions and even showed us some key spots to visit using a map.

We stayed at the Chardonnay cottage. It was very clean, both bedrooms have ensuite - I love the bath which came with a bubble bath and salt baths. So relaxing! The beddings are very comfortable and warm. There's a fire place or AC/heater. A full kitchen that can be convenient.

We also received a complimentary wine tasting and both of them shared their stories behind each bottle. I love the 2017 Cab Sav & the Precious Frizzante. Breakfast is also tasty, we all love the chorizo omelet with chilli jam and chimichurri.

The doggos, Mona & Geronimo are also adorable. 😘

Highly recommend staying here. It's very close to other vineyards, restaurants, etc.

My boyfriend and I came to the Hunter for my 30th, and there are so many accommodation options to choose from it was hard to decide! I now know we made the absolute best decision possible in choosing the RDC. I can't fault it.

From greeting us and adding a lovely touch of birthday balloons in the room, to the best breakfasts I've ever tasted, Stewart and Evelyn made the whole stay our favourite together yet. Plus, Stewart's coffees are as worthy for an award as his wine..!

We stayed in the Cabernet Suite- it is the perfect size for two, with a gorgeous spa bath (with bubble bath and salts!) overlooking the grounds, plus a good size comfy bed and amenities like a fridge and coffee pod machine. The best part is sitting on the side deck, feeling the afternoon warmth and watching the sun go down with a bottle of RDC wine!

Stewart and Evelyn have excellent local knowledge of the area and gave us some great recommendations. The wine tasting we did with them was also the best I did in the Valley - there's something about a relaxed, personal touch!

The beautiful grounds and vineyards are also full of hidden gems- and they're all painted red!

We will be returning :)

If you find the Red Door Collective on booking or other platforms, call them directly and book with them rather than with a third party :) It cuts out the middle man !

We spent 3 nights at Red Door Collective a lovely boutique accommodation where you get the best of both worlds...honest hands on management and hospitality by the owners and desired privacy and separation.

Evelyn and Stewart are wonderful hosts very friendly and welcoming, providing a glorious cheese and fruit platter with a bottle of their own Pinot from the vineyard on the first night, great breakfasts and a twilight wine tasting from their on-site vineyard.

This is a great place to stay reflective of the positive reviews on this site. It’s nice to meet owners who are putting everything into this facility and it shows in the pride and effort they make with every aspect. Worth a visit!
