We booked two nights for our stay. Had a wedding to attend nearby. Stayed at Vines 1. Very neat, clean, spacious living area. Table & chairs on deck outside, nice to relax and enjoy the view of the vines. The bathroom was also spacious and modern… comfortable King bed slept like a log! Plenty of hanging space. The temps outside were very hot, 35c & 37c. The air con and overhead fans ensured we were very cool indeed. Plus Tanya had a fully stocked fridge eggs, bacon, bread, plenty of butter and variety of spreads. A selection of cereals also provided. Fresh milk and delicious OJ. Not to mention a bottle of red wine on the table…. 🍷🍷 Thanks for a wonderful weekend, we both thoroughly enjoyed our time at 27 Rows on Hermitage. Mez Sydney…..

Kangaroos out the front and out the back from the bedroom window. Come on!!! Stayed here over the Christmas New Year period and had a amazing time. Tanya the host has exceptional cottages, clean tidy well equipped and perfect size. Breakfast provisions was a nice touch allowing you do to your own thing whilst staying there and not having to hustle along a line for an average buffet. The view of the vineyard from the front deck is so peaceful both from morning and afternoon sunset with a glass of shiraz from the vineyard itself. (Free in your room!!) Noise was very minimal from roads, animals, neighbours etc so perfect to just sit and relax back at the accommodation. Bathroom was huge, shower was great, spa bath was relaxing and plenty of towels provided. These are serviced cottages so once you check in you are left alone to enjoy every moment you have in the hunter. A must consider for everyone and we will be definitely booking again!

Fabulous accommodation setting, the rooms looked spectacular and large with good heating BUT... what happened with the water pressure and the hot water? I didn't run any risk of burning myself that's for sure and the flow from the shower was woeful sorry. Everything else was fantastic but that too me was a bit of a let-down.

Hi Lee Thank you for your review, we have not had any issue with the water prior to your review, i suspect there is an issue with the pump as we are on tank water. I will get this looked at by the plumber ASAP. Thanks for the alert. Kind regards Tanya

We stayed in Lillypilli Cottage with our pet dog for 2 nights. The cottage was whisper quiet and our dog instantly relaxed on arrival. So close to several surrounding vineyards, we took advantage of the new 10km bike/run/walking path which has just opened, each morning to stretch our legs. We didn’t hear a whisper or see our neighbours in the larger cabin. Breakfast provisions where plentiful with eggs, bacon, fresh OJ, fresh milk, fresh bread, accompaniments, as well as packet cereals should you not wish to cook. The bed is so comfortable, the heating (reverse-cycle) effective, and the handicap friendly bathroom modern and easy to get around. We will definitely return when next in the Hunter with our pet dog.

What a perfect venue for a bunch of girls to spend the weekend. So central, clean, comfortable, with all the essentials and such thoughtful extras. Tanya and Bruce were so kind and resourceful in recommending "must-do's" and even arranged a local spa afternoon for all of us girls. Surprisingly affordable, I will go here again and again! Thank you Bruce and Tanya, we'll be back!

Found this lovely cottage after looking for a dog friendly place to stay and we were pleasantly surprised. Tanya and Bruce are definitely onto something here. This cottage will be very well equipped when you arrive on top of being very private. Our dog Sunny had a great time as well chasing the kangaroos. Very recommendable . We will be back

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely time. It’s very quiet and private. The location is peaceful and natural with nice walking tracks, gumtrees and passing kangaroos. It’s not manicured gardens or rolling green hills. The cottage is very clean and owners are friendly and helpful.

We stumbled upon this little gem and were delighted with our weekend at Lilly Pilly. The location is Hermitage Road but set off from the road. The cottage reminds me of the children's song "In a cottage in the woods, a little old man at the window stood - saw a rabbit hopping by..." Only difference was we saw kangaroos each morning - eyeing us out and then hopping away. We felt so relaxed in this ideal peaceful location. Tanya and Bruce ensured that all our needs were met and exceeded out expectations. A litre bottle of premium milk (not those little long life sachets" - a huge selection of teas, jams etc. A large bottle of juice, free range eggs and yummy bread. The cottage is well-equipped and modern. The bed was super comfy and there was a selection of pillows, doonas and comforters. Our dogs were so comfortable it was fabulous. Both Tanya and Bruce were amazing hosts and provided a wealth of information as to pet friendly vineyards and cafes. We can't wait to return.

Lilly Pilly cottage is a 1 bedroom cottage with all mod cons in the most idyllic setting. Off Hermitage Road it is the perfect location to explore the Hunter with numerous wineries and restaurants nearby. Away from the road it is so peaceful.... nothing but countryside and a great deck to watch the occasional family of kangeroos hop by. Fitted out perfectly with generous provisions for breakfast. Friendly and helpful hosts! Cannot wait to go back!

I stayed here over NYE with my partner and a few of our friends. We were after a beautiful little place where we could relax, enjoy good food and wine and each other's company. We absolutely LOVED Spotted Gums- it is incredibly beautiful, the cottages are immaculate and fully self contained- absolutely everything you could ever want- including a BBQ. The air con was an added bonus for those of us that were finding the heat difficult to handle. The owners Tanya and Bruce were really friendly and welcoming- very knowledgable on the area and gave us some great tips- we particularly enjoyed visiting Piggs Peake winery which just a stones throw away from the property (4-5 min walk). Sitting on the balcony of our cottage enjoying the view of the vineyard and native Australian trees, watching kangaroos jump past us, and drinking a glass of wine was one of the highlights of my 2017. Thank you so much for making our stay exceptional, no one had a bad word to say about the place and we'll be recommending this place to all our friends.
