Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really lovely caravan park with friendly helpful owners. The ensuite site was excellent and the ensuite had 2 big towels, a shower mat, a small towel and a face washer. They also supplied a small bar of soap and shampoo and conditioner. Kudos to them, this was the best suppled ensuite we have been in and we have been travelling for 4 months now. Parkes was lovely as a base though a bit cold having come down from Qld!

Spicer Caravan Park is beautiful! The staff were lovely and accommodating, the grounds well kept and the facilities immaculate. The little extras of clean bath mats and rubber mats in the bathroom made our stay made our stay just that little more comfortable. We loved staying here!

Yes a lot of the sites are uneven but this is life sometimes for a caravaner and having to use levelling ramps etc. sometimes, so what unusual about that? First in first served for the flat ones. There is a combination or gravel and grass sites that are available based on the weather. There had been floods in the area and monumental rain so a gravel draining site was preferable. If your weather is good they have some lovely grassed sites. It was raining when we arrived and very wet so a gravel site was good having spent time in other parks on this trip where they try and put you on churned up boggy mud heaps. The ammenities are cleaned spotlessly each day, yes a little dated but compared to many van parks these were great. Heaps of consistent hot water in the showers. The Camp kitchens, both inside and outside ones were well appointed and maintained. The park is very quiet at night and away from main roads so there is basically no heavy traffic noise which a lot of parks suffer from.
A big shout out to the park managers, they are new and very friendly and helpful, Mark is a great guy, likes a laugh, stops for a chat and also works hard on looking after things.

This score is based on our bay, not the entire park. That is partly our fault for choosing poorly, but also not our fault in some ways. Firstly the good points. The staff are amazing and very very helpful. The area is super clean and well appointed. They do have recycling bins which are rare these days. Most of the spots are easy to get even large vans in and out of, and to top it off, it is literally right next to a sporting oval so you you are there on a weekend you can watch the locals teams playing cricket or footy.... Negatives (and not many), and only for our choice which was a powered van bay with ensuite. Firstly it was very hard to get into our bay as there was a significant dropoff where the car would normally have been parked. We had to back up the van so that it was sticking out onto the road just a little so we could get the van off the hitch. this meant we couldnt really put our awning out as it would have really stretched out onto the road (turned out to be a good thing as it got very wet and windy later in the afternoon). The ensuite bays were very tight, and when we packed up some of the rainwater spilled off our roof and even splashed into the van beside us (it was a pup-up with flyscreens for windows and the spray went right in). I didnt take a photo unfortunately but I did find one online of our bay, showing the quite steep drop-off where you drive through, and how tight the space is. Our experience would have certainly been much better if we had chosen one of the powered sites over the road from our site, where they had plenty of room and easy access to their bay. That would have taken this up to a 4 or close to a 5 star (but as we had an ensuite we dont now what the other facilities are like). Would we stay there again, yes, but not in an ensuite site... And remember, this is our review based on our site, I truly believe it would have been an entirely different review if we had not stayed in this particular ensuite site.... but we did, and so we have to review it honestly. Everything else about the park is awesome, just not this ensuite site.

We stayed on a lovely grassy powered site across from the school for 2 nights. Some sites are on bitumen so I would check which site you might get when booking. The staff were friendly and the park was well maintained and clean. The noise from the school was minimal and it was very quiet at night, and we even had a possum visit. The park backs onto the sports oval so you might even get to watch some footy training or a game on the weekend. Good central location and an easy walk into town to follow the Public Art Trail and Memorial Hill is just up behind the park.

Beware of "cancellation fee"! We had booked one night in a powered site, but my husband became ill on our travels and we had to cut short our trip. I immediately contacted the park management - three weeks before our planned visit - to ask them to cancel the booking and issue a refund due to circumstances. I got a reply saying "no refunds - $25 'administration fee' will be deducted from your booking and remaining balance held to be used within the next 12 months". These terms ARE in the T&C's on their website, but just be aware.

Afew of the sites are uneven and unfortunately the whole time we were here it rained so the site was quite boggy. The washing machine $4 and the dyers(fantastic)$3 and there was music in the amenity and they were very clean and spotless. There’s a pit fire in the camp kitchen so we had a fire and afew people came in to join us which is a great meeting place. It’s a must to also see the satellite dish which is about 21 km out of town and there’s plenty of room to park your caravans too.

Very basic accommodation that I’d happily recommend as a safe place to sleep only; not a holiday park as such. No bells or whistles in December 2023, notably no wifi. Travelling with teens, this made mum’s budget minded choice a big fat fail. No pool which would have been a treat in the high heats. Glamping tent decidedly unglamorous in summer. On the plus side, staff were really friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately that only goes so far! Laundry facilities and BBQs available and working well during our visit.

We stayed for one night on our way home from SA through NSW after restrictions lifted The park is extremely well run. We stayed in an ensuite powered caravan site. All facilities were clean and COVID safe. We were very impressed. Great managers. Definitely recommend.

Upon arrival we received a warm welcome from the friendly staff. We were given a seniors discount which was appreciated. We were shown to our site and the staff guided us onto the site, this makes getting on to the site so much quicker as the staff are experts on each individual site. We had a grass site which was very nice. Amenities are spotless and I really appreciated the use of bath mats in the showers, such a wonderful gesture. Grounds are very well maintained and sites are well defined. Park is quite and good location. Congratulations to the management and staff on this park. I would highly recommend this park.
