We, ( a group of caravans and motorhomes), booked months in advance to stay several nights. Several of us had our travel companions (dogs). We had also requested that we are sited near each other. To stop congestion we staggered our arrival through the day. Some were sited on grassy sites, others were placed 50-100 meters away and the rest of us were sited on, what we refer to, as the gravel pit. As several of us had dogs, we asked for a grassy site, there were several. The park was less than half occupied. The manager said we have no sites, i pointed out several sites and was told council as coming to work near there. Council did come and work on our last day and was nowhere near the sites I had mentioned, but were near other visiting vans. Meanwhile, the grassy site were given to other vans during our stay. The morale of this is, if you are paying for a site, request a grassy one or find another park. Also, booking in advance means NOTHING. The gravel pit is not comfortable and if you want to put your awning out, you will need an auger to put in your pegs as this is compacted gravel. We all agreed free camping is not as bad as the gravel pit.

This is a really nice council park, run efficiently and with great enthusiasm. Unless you were told, you wouldn't guess it was a council park. The amenities were spotless and thr grounds immaculate. Will stay here again.

Room Tip: A grassed site by the oval is good but they are saved for the smaller vans.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Very reasonably priced. Facilities of an excellent standard. It is a real treat having the luxury of clean bath mats available when showering. We have stayed here on two separate ocaissions and not been dissappointed. Great vallue for money

Great amenities- super clean, shower curtains and bath mats provided. Nice location overlooking the cricket oval. Fairy lights around the oval at night were a lovely touch. Just beware camping under big gum trees as the galahs who sleep there overnight leave their “calling cards” on anything below. Cheaper and lots nicer than the showground.

Right from the most efficient and friendly check in process This park was 20 it of ten all the way. Cheryl and Brad were so helpful with check in and getting sorted on our sites. The grounds are immaculately maintained. There was green grass everywhere and so lovely to feel the grass under foot. Huge oval to walk the pets. Most immaculately clean amenities we have ever seen on our travels. Easy walking distance to town and shops. Parkes is such a friendly community we lived our stay there. Thank you Brad and Cheryl, you made our stay extra pleasurable. Dave and Julie R
