We have just returned from an enjoyable stay in the Emerald Gem villa. The setting is tranquil and relaxing with views to Lake Canobolas, we enjoyed a walk to the lake and then a twilight dinner in the garden (trees providing the shade). The villa was spacious and comfortable, with luxury touches. Pam, the owner, provides everything you need for you stay from excellent wine and chocolates through to a wide variety of breakfast ingredients. The kitchenette is very well equiped and includes the essentials needed to cook. There is also a Weber bbq on the terrace. Orange is about 10 minutes away and it is easy to organise a taxi if needed. Highly recommended.

Out of town ,with some unsealed road driving ,we rented the two bedroom luxury cabins. The cabins were good ( luxury?) newish, neat and clean with two comfortable king beds and each had ensuite. Plenty of fresh local produce was supplied, cereal, mushrooms, apples, eggs, bread, bacon, huge fruit platter and cheese plate were much appreciated. Facing west towards the lake was mainly a pretty paddock with cows and kangaroos wandering past. Air con worked ok although struggled in the heat in the bedrooms as we had a few very hot days. The lake was a nice 10 minute walk downhill for a swim or an easy 2.3 km walk around which was great. There is a local cafe next to the lake which was good. Unfortunately we had a few minor issues such as no wifi which rendered the great entertainment system useless ( temporary we were told due to building g works) , some bathroom issues the owners can explain, and although inside furniture was comfortable the outside table and seating was not. This was a shame as we spent most of the evening outside watching the stunning sun set and using the bbq . Owners Pam and Trevor were helpful and quick to respond to enquires . A visit to Millthorpe, historic town and Mt Canoblis all good day trips as well as Orange town centre with its wide tree lined streets. Plenty of wineries around which we didn’t get too.

Thank you for your review & feedback, Janet – it was lovely to meet you and your group as our guests when you stayed. You question that we are luxury – as you can see all our other reviews say that we are luxury. We apologise if we fell short of your expectations in certain areas, as we strive to provide a luxury experience for all our guests’. Naturally we were disappointed to receive some negative comments. You’ll be pleased to know that our all-weather gravel road & the Wi-Fi have both been upgraded. The road has lots of new gravel and been graded & rolled – so lovely to drive on. The Wi-Fi has a new aerial & a router in each villa – so it will be amazing for all our guests. Both road and Wi-Fi are much better than previous. Our state-of-the-art bathrooms do not have a door between the bedroom and the bathroom. Most of our guests do not have a problem with this & in fact love our very big baths and high ceiling showers (especially tall men). We apologise for the inconvenience this caused you during your stay. Whilst you were in Orange, the weather was unseasonably hot, which would have affected the performance of the air conditioning system in your villa – even though it is a ducted system. Thankfully you utilised the Lake for some much-needed swims for cooling down. I love the fact that the Lake Reserve is our backyard to play in. Regarding the outdoor chairs, we do provide cushions for added comfort – they are inside the villa. We apologize if this was not communicated to you properly. Also, it’s not a problem to move the much larger dining chairs outside as required. We appreciate your understanding & we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with an enhanced luxury experience.

We had four nights at Lakeview Luxury Retreat and we have stayed in many cabins in various locations and these are the best we have had the pleasure of staying in. They are immaculately presented, close to town, lake and wineries but so peaceful....watching sunset by the lake was a wonderful calming experience. The cabin is spotless (and I mean spotless!)...spacious..the bed was super comfy...the bath relaxing and shower nice and hot....the provisions were beautiful and plentiful. I am a coffee nut and there were so many options...there is basically everything you need here. My husband loved the pot of tea each day. Real tea... Pam and Trevor were excellent hosts, welcoming, but not intrusive. We dined out at lunch times and spent our evenings relaxing looking at the lake view and bbq etc....we found IGA in Orange to have amazing fresh food supplies. To be honest I would stay here again which is unusual for me...I like trying new places but this was perfect. I doubt you would find better.

Pam and Trevor have a wonderful setup here. Whomever is the creative mind in that relationship deserves a pat-on-the-back. The facilities are modern and clean, stocked with all sorts of goodies from local vendors. The fruit platter was seriously impressive in particular (strawberries, blueberries and grapes), and we loved the local bacon/sausages/eggs/mushrooms for a cooked breakfast on the final day. (Our mistake was to plan being out for meals while in Orange - we should have spent more in time IN.) Anyway - thanks Pam/Trevor - your apartment was a big contributor to our wonderful weekend away!

We loved our stay here. The cabin and views were beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for anything more for our relaxing weekend away. The wine, cheese, chocolates and breakfast supplies were perfect and meant we could have an easy breakfast every day. Pam was so helpful with everything. Only 10 mins from town and close to everything but completely isolated and quiet in the countryside. The heating with gas fire is excellent. Definitely recommend.

Our stay at Lakeview Luxury Retreat was excellent! The owners Pam and Trevor were very friendly and made sure we were well looked after during our stay. The villa was gorgeous, well equipped and quite a large space. We found that Pam and Trevor's property is excellently positioned - the views are incredible and it's tucked away in privacy but also has a private walking track down to the popular Lake Conobolas. We LOVED the massive breakfast hamper provided complete with all kinds of local and fresh produce - it really made our mornings! Would definitely come back and visit again.

A stay at Lakeview Luxury Retreat will not disappoint. My husband and I just spent two nights in the Red Villa. It is as good as the photos and beautifully located nestled in bushland and overlooking Lake Canobolas. The Owners, Pam and Trevor have thought of everything and gone above and beyond, in what they offer their guests. A fridge replete with local produce, bacon, eggs, sausages, cheese, pate and a platter of fresh fruit. Not to mention milk, fruit juice, yoghurt, numerous coffee options and fresh bread and cereal. Oh, almost forgot, the lindt choccies and macadamia shortbread biscuits and the icing on the cake......a beautiful bottle of local red wine, all included in the price. The villas have been beautifully designed with every thought for the environment, the bricks absorb the heat so it's warm during the night and there's underfloor heating in the bathroom. Beds adorned with hotel/style linen and electric blankets, ensure a good night's sleep. My only query is the lack of a door on the bathroom which I feel most people would like to at least know about. Perhaps I'm a little old fashioned! I did however, adjust and got used to it and it didn't detract from a lovely stay. We will be back one day, thank you to Pam and Trevor for being such thoughtful hosts......it is so rare to be offered such excellent accommodation and thoughtfulness these days!

Very spacious cottage, well designed for privacy and romance. The house is full of sunlight and takes in gorgeous lake view with fall foliage. The breakfast hamper and goodies are gourmet, perfect for picky eater like us. We saw so many wild life around the house, not to mention the private path down to lake from the house. Loved every single minute of the short stay for my hubby’s birthday getaway!
