Old woolshed thoughtfully converted into excellent accommodation for 5 couples. Each room had its own bathroom. Very comfy beds and seats for 16 around the old wool classing table, which is now a terrific dining table. Two lovely lounging spaces with gorgeous views over the rolling countryside. Weber BBQ on the deck was very handy. Kitchen was a bit cramped but perfectly OK. Just 10 minutes from Orange.
Stayed here with 2 other couples and 2 children. Plenty of space, fireplace and so clever how they have maintained the sheep station. Helen was delightful, loads of breakfast items and home made banana bread. Each room has it’s own bathroom and a beautiful view of the countryside.
We stayed at the Black Sheep Inn, what a beautifully presented property. The Room was fantastic, with our own ensuite. The fire place, & facilities are fantastic. The view to great. impressed with the detail of the who place. Helen is a lovely Hostess. We are so happy that we had the opportunity to stay at Black Sheep Inn. Please go there you will not be dissapointed.
We decided to do a quick Valentines Day getaway from Bathurst (40 minutes away) to Black Sheep Inn and had the most relaxing ESCAPE, it was perfect in every way. Any parents must do! Thanks again BSI!
We had a really lovely stay at the Black Sheep Inn. The rooms are comfortable with views over the rolling green hills. Breakfast served on the old wool classing table was delicious featuring fresh local produce. Our host Helen was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We hope to return soon to sample more of the delights of Orange!
We had an excellent stay at Blacksheep Inn - the beautiful renovation of the shearing shed, the attention to detail and the wonderful host Helen who is delightfully hospitable and cooks the best breakfasts ! It was all beyond our expectations. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
We absolutely fell in love with this Inn. My Father-In-Law couldn't stop raving about the design and set up of the place. Apart from keeping it's original Sheep Shearing tools/furniture/structure in the shed, they also have a bar, long dinning table and a welcoming fire place. There were books to explain about the place and sheep shearing etc..it was very educational for my daughter. On the first day, there was also lovely music playing in the Inn and a plate of banana cake to greet our arrival. Helen who manages the Inn, was so friendly and helpful in every way. We will definitely return to Black Sheep Inn again. Thank you, Helen, for providing us with such good customer service and a unforgettable experience.
We were a group of TEN Walkers and Fine Diners. The Inn was extremely comfortable for our party whose ages ranged from 60 to 80. The Kitchen facilities as well as the Barbecue met all of our needs for our Breakfasts ,lunches and dinners when we were not eating out. The Mobile coverage from many networks was very good providing voice, sms and internet Access thought out the whole complex despite the roof and walls being made of Galvanized Iron. Our Bed rooms and en suites were excellent. The wood burning stove kept everyone very warm ,no doubt due to the Quality of the Insulation in the roof and walls. Helen our hostess met our every wish. I will certainly stay again.
My family and I have been staying at Black Sheep Inn and the adjoining Whispering Moon accommodation annually over the past 10 years. The accommodation is located just a short drive from Orange, but is surrounded by and has pleasant views across rolling hills and paddocks. Our latest visit was a one of a group of five couples and we occupied Black Sheep Inn. This is a very skilfully and tastefully converted old shearing shed with a wonderful ambience and many of its original features, including the shearing stands, sheep shutes, wool press and the immense old wool carding table which has been adapted for use as a large dining table. The common areas are comfortably furnished with lounges and easy chairs and there is also a huge combustion stove which provides very adequate heating. A large verandah overlooking the manicured lawns and distant hills adjoins and is equipped with comfortable outdoor furniture and a bbq. There is also a full kitchen and plenty of crockery, glasses, cooking utensils etc and our group enjoyed the facilities so much that we chose to eat in on 2 of our 3 nights there. There are five large bedrooms, each with very comfortable beds with electric blankets and generously sized ensuite bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Our group, returning for their second stay, were once again universal in their praise of the comfort, exceptional quality and meticulous standards of the accommodation and facilities at Black Sheep Inn. All were again impressed with the warm hospitality offered by our hostess, Helen, and her wonderful and generously sized continental breakfasts. This is totally consistent with the long experience of me and my family during our stays in Black Sheep Inn and Whispering Moon Cottage over the last 10 years. On each visit we have been similarly impressed and delighted that the exceptionally high standards of all aspects of the accommodation have been so well maintained over those years - and that is why we keep coming back each year. We highly recommend Black Sheep Inn and Whispering Moon cottage for a wonderful stay in Orange.…
Helen, who manages this property is most accommodating as we had a group of 25 people ,of which 14 were staying at the Black Sheep Inn including the 2 cottages and we all wanted to dine together in the communal area of the shearing shed with an outside caterer. This was no problem for Helen to arrange . She supplied extra glasses, chairs and tables. All five rooms off the main dining area are air conditioned and very well maintained. In summer the Black sheep inn’s main area could get extra hot as it has no air con. The Black Sheep Inn’s kitchen has everything one would need for self catering although a substantial continental breakfast is included. We would highly recommend this for a friendly or family group couple for a couple of days as it is right in the middle of the Orange wine area and only 8-10 kms from the centre of Orange.…
