We had a quiet dinner here after a day trip to Mudgee. It was surprisingly a little bit busy which is great for this nice little pub in Orange. Love the old fashioned nick nacks from the past; so many interesting artefacts to look at, adorning the walls. The space has been recently renovated. Have been here before, the beers are always nice and cold and served with a smile and the meals delicious, well prepared and very generous! I had the steak sandwich special which was huge and nice and fresh - loved the salad which was dressed with a yummy dressing. My husband had the Godfather schnitzel which was also a huge serve and very nicely cooked.

My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights. The room was quiet. The bed was fantastic. Bathrooms have been renovated beautifully and the common kitchen was a plus to have available. The air con was great too. My only negative would be the huge wardrobe took up so much room and blocked the hand basin in our room. No need for it in such a small room

was a little dubious about the hotel when I walked in as the lobby area looked very "unfinished" However I needn't have worried, it was part of the "look". The bedroom was excellent and the shared facilities top class.Â
As it's above the bar don't be surprised if there is some noise from downstairs and if you look out over the veranda expect to hear noise from the kitchen which is on the veranda! Having tried the bar food and range of beers I can thoughrly recommend both. Pity they don't do breakfast but there are a couple of excellent coffee shops in walking distance.

Had always walked past this hotel but never been in so decided to try it out for dinner. We had crumbed steak with chips and salad and roast lamb special and we shared apple pie for dessert. Good pub food at good prices and generous serves. The burgers at other tables looked amazing! The dining room has been very thoughtfully renovated and tastefully decorated to suit the era of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and the owner came over to chat which was nice. Will definitely return soon!

Walked in and full of bogans who all stopped what they were doing and stared. Unfriendly and very unwelcoming. Didn’t get the chance to see what staff were like. We just turned and left never felt so uncomfortable walking into a pub anywhere. Especially in town like Orange expected much better.

We stayed here for 1 night in room with Queen bed was very cosy and warm in the room with a/c. Shared bathroom/toilet all clean. We stayed on Saturday night which means there was a live band downstairs so was noisy til 12.40am. Also there was a function on in the balcony just outside our window til 10.30pm. Lucky we had our trusty ear plugs with us and had a sound sleep. The food downstairs was average.

8 of us visiting from Wollongong NSW. What a time we had. The food was fabulous. Loads of delicious choices on the menu. The staff looked after us. So warm and friendly. It’s a great pub. The hospitality was awesome. We did get a bit involved with some impromptu karaoke but it was allowed. Thankyou for an amazingly great time had by all of us. Hope to return and would definitely recommend.

A basic room no sink or glass. Smoking near by . A lazy grey nurse ( 100 ) not over the top yet what I wasn’t counting on a very basic and loud rock band performing from 8 to midnight. Right under my room! Really ! This pub that looks like the decorators downed tools halfway through the job charged outrageous prices and the drummer of the band surely auditioning was no Keith moon sounded like he was building a shed ! I came down to the bar to write this review simply because it was impossible to sleep! Avoid like the plague . Pub bands that can’t sing in tune or basically play anything remotely listenable should stay in their soundproofing garages and avoid public appearances!
