The Byng Street Boutique Hotel is celebrated for its sumptuous rooms and abundant amenities, offering a sophisticated and comfortable stay. Guests are captivated by its inviting atmosphere, chic furnishings, and the warm welcome they receive. The friendly, professional staff and the high-quality gourmet breakfast receive special commendation, enhancing the property's value. Nestled in a prime location near the heart of town, it's a stone's throw from local attractions. While the hotel maintains high standards of cleanliness, there is a solitary note advising a more thorough cleaning of showers.

Could not fault this place, absolute 5 star gem in a regional area.
I love B&B's and my partner doesn't. This place is the perfect combination of both, as you have the beautiful historical building at the front that contain heritage suites and the dining room and then an incredible contemporary add on at the back that contains modern hotel rooms of various types. The whole place is stunning. In a world of bland, beige hotel rooms the furnishings and decor really stood out, they were so bright and colourful, without being overpowering. The rooms and public spaces were spotlessly clean (helps that it is very new as well), the linen in the rooms was of excellent quality, fluffy thick towels, super white sheets, 3 ply tissues and toilet paper (I love this as so many 5 star hotels skimp on those disposable items). There is ample off street parking, a big open light bright lounge space with fireplace, and best of all, a side entrance to the wine bar next door specifically for hotel guests to use. It is 5 mins walk in to Orange main street so perfect for going out for dinner after a day of wine tasting!
The staff were incredible, the breakfast was really good, lots of choices of hot food for a small hotel. Homemade granola, fresh fruit and juice, homemade sweets as well as the cooked option.
Best of all, this hotel does turn down service which is distinctly lacking in Australian hotels nowadays. Each night a beautiful tray with homemade biscuits and loose leaf tea with teapot and cups and saucers were placed in the room; each night was a different delicacy, it was such a personal touch.
I booked online via a 3rd party site and the hotel contacted me directly by phone and email asking if I needed help with anything and providing further information on the rooms/facilities. We were attending a concert at a winery, and unprompted, they provided us information about the transport options/timings and location even though it had nothing to do with them personally. Such great service even before I had arrived!
I really could not speak highly enough of the whole experience of this hotel from start to finish, would not hesitate to stay again or recommend it to others.

We stayed here as a family of four in 2 adjoining rooms. The property is a tasteful mix of a beautifully restored historic home and some very comfortable modern guest rooms. Rooms are quite large, excellent bathrooms, comfortable beds and nice lounge. The BSH is very quiet - no noise from adjoining rooms, corridor or street. Great cooked breakfast is included and very nice - served in the original home. Tina made us feel very welcome and added to the ambience of this beautiful property. We look forward to returning.

My wife and I enjoyed two fabulous nights at Byng Street Boutique Hotel based on the strong recommendations of our daughter, who had recently stayed there.

The heritage styled boutique hotel with its contemporary design, is within easy walking distance of the town centre and provides designated onsite parking.

Our room which was located in the modern wing was spacious, extremely quiet, beautifully styled and extremely comfortable with a king bed, wonderful pillows, a sofa and small table. The room included a sink with tea and coffee making facilities, whilst the bathroom was also extremely large and well equipped.

A superb two course a la carte breakfast served in the elegant dining room was included in the hotel accommodation rate and was one of the highlights of our stay.

In addition, there are lounge areas within the hotel where one can enjoy a relaxing drink and food platter if so desired, whilst room service is also readily available. All staff were extremely welcoming and courteous, which capped off a special and memorable stay.

We have since passed details of Byng Street Boutique Hotel onto a number of our friends and therefore have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a wonderful and luxurious stay when visiting Orange.

We stayed for 4 nights in a suite and really enjoyed the well thought through design and service at Byng Street Boutique Hotel. It is a family business seeking to channel some international flair. Top notch decor throughout - but nothing sacrificed to beauty because the room spaces WORKED. Thoughtful small kitchenette/dressing room, huge TV with Netflix, great double bathroom, big hanging spaces, excellent lighting for bookworms plus sensible, yummy breakfast choices.
The hotel's position in a suburban street meant the architecture of the new part of the hotel could not impinge on privacy of neighbours. Clearly the suite was designed to distract you from its shortcomings (only a high strip window in the bedroom) eg. the brilliant addition of a large skylight over the capacious bath. Anyhow the public areas are nearby all the rooms, if you happen to be hanging around in the daytime and need some ambiance by the gorgeous fireplaces on comfy lounges. If you do not care about a bath, rooms on the ground floor are generous sizes (smaller shower rooms and kitchenettes) but have full length windows on to a garden area and boundary fence, actually surprisingly attractive.
Management anticipated everything, yet made you feel the experience of Orange could be tailored to ones interests, dietary requirements etc. Winery visits were the highlight of countryside jaunts but there is some serious restaurant action in Orange itself for the evenings, mostly walking distance from the property. With the on-going COVID situation you need to prebook everything. But if you don't want to stay in and watch netflix, then a short but high quality meal menu and winelist was available for in-room dining. High recommended.

I've long believed that at end of the day quality costs nothing, You can by a cheaper mobile than an i-Phone and a less expensive vacuum cleaner than a Dyson but at the end of the day after you have replaced their substitutes 2-3 times you may as well have gone with the quality version. After a wonderful weekend in Orange, I will be adding The Byng Street Boutique Hotel to that list.

From the moment we checked in the quality touches were evident: a warm professional welcome; our bags carried from the car to our rooms; an explanation of the features and options; a map of the local wineries (without us having to ask); recommendations for dinner; the turn-down tea and cake and a perfect breakfast with local produce. Sure all of that adds up but at the end of the day you can save a bit but not get anywhere near the same level of satisfaction. From my point of view while you pay a bit more for quality, at the end of the day it's a worthwhile investment

Thank you to the team we had a wonderful stay and we will recommend you to others.

While presented as a B&B it really a hybrid. This place is the perfect combination of both, as you have the beautiful historical building at the front that contains heritage suites and the dining room and then a contemporary wing at the back that contains modern hotel rooms. Located a block back from the Orange main street it is well located for access to restaurants and hotels. There is dedicated space for car parking for each room. A two course breakfast is included with homemade granola, fresh fruit and juice, as well as the cooked option. Each night a turn down service occurs complete with homemade biscuits and loose leaf tea with teapot and cups and saucers, it was such a personal touch. Most of all the bed was extremely comfortable and the room was totally sound proof with black out curtains.

We just spent two nights at this splendid new hotel. We took friends from New York here and we were all pleasantly surprised at all facets of the hotel.

The ambience is modern and comfortable with everything well well thought out in design from an unloading bay at the entrance to individual parking bays and an entrance straight into the building from the parking space. There is a pleasant open space for reading and gatherings with a fireplace which I can see would be pleasant on colder days.

The staff could not have done more to help us plan our ventures around Orange. As we had breakfast on our first morning our host helped me plan a walking tour and an afternoon winery and local tour. The hotel hotel is just a short walk from anything in town and several great restaurants are only a block away. Our host made reservations as soon as we arrived on a long weekend Monday!

The included breakfast was fresh and the cooked menu satisfied everyone. The chef was very accommodating. Coffee and tea were of the highest standard.

We will certainly return to Orange for long weekends and would not stay anywhere else. We recommend the Byng Street Boutique Hotel without reservation!

The hotel is welcoming and feels very boutique however there were simply too many flaws and I left feeling that it was not what I would expect from a luxury property.
The positives
1. Comfortable bed
2. Lovely bathroom and amenities
3. Turn down with hand made treats and tea
4. The breakfast option of smoked trout was lovely

The negatives
1. When checking in I was moved aside when a distinguished gentleman arrived and was greeted by name. The man was asked if he would like to check in now. He kindly pointed out that I was ahead of him and suggested they finish checking me in first.
2. When shown to our room the owner suggested we turn the aircon on to freshen the air, the room smelt of paint. We did so, but that night the smell was overpowering and concerning. When pointed out to the owner they did say sorry but claimed they had no idea the smell would reach the room and did not offer any compensation.
3. The breakfast option of French toast was dry, I left half the portion.
4. To watch TV you had to sit on the bed as there were no chairs. To see the TV from the bed you had to turn side on as it was beside the bed. It was difficult to watch.
5. At check out I was waiting my turn in line. Two older and affluent couples arrived after me and the man walked ahead of me when it was my turn. The lady at check out observed the situation and proceeded to check them out ahead of me and had a nice chat to them. She offered no apology when she served me. I was left feeling that my business was not valued.
6. The owner suggested we order their in-house option for dinner as we felt like a simple light meal. We had butter chicken with roti, the roti was completely dry and over cooked. We then shared an apple pie and ice cream. The pie was very basic, and not appetizing and the ice cream had ice chunks in it, they charged $15 for the pie.
All up I felt like I was of no value to their business. When I pointed out the faults they apologized but nothing more. I travel regularly for business and leisure and this is one venue I will not be returning to or recommending.

Hi Christine, We appreciate you pointing out some great positives in regards to your stay at the BSH as well as areas for improvement for our team. It would have been even better if the areas that you felt we let you down in were discussed with us during your stay as opposed to at check out and in two reviews you have now posted. We certainly take guest comments and concerns seriously and welcome the opportunity to rectify any flaws at the time of the experience to ensure our guests have the most enjoyable stay. We pride ourselves in the business we have created the and the offering we provide to our guests across all areas, with the overwhelming majority having a wonderful stay, as can be noted from all previous reviews. We apologise that we missed the mark in regards to your expectations. Regards, Tom, Kristen and the BSH team

The attention to detail in this place is second to none! From the art work to the in-room crockery, to the skylights above the baths nothing was missed and everything just flows together and the result is amazing. The use of local products for the menus is well thought out and delicious - especially the granola! Kristen and Thomas have created a beautiful space that is warm, welcoming and an ideal getaway location. With their knowledge of local wines, eateries and general history of the area is well worth hitting them for recommendations of where to go and what to see.
Absolutely would recommend this as your choice of hotel in Orange, looking forward to heading back hopefully sooner rather than later!

We booked this hotel to stay 2 nights.

On our travel to the area, my wife experienced a serious incident resulting in her being taken to hospital and then medically transferred further to access critical medical care.

To ensure we did not inconvenience places we had booked we immediately advised all further bookings for restaurants and accommodation.

Understanding the seriousness of our predicament, all suppliers were fabulous with the exception of The Byng. Surprisingly the accomodation we had already checked in to on the evening of the incident, when informed we were being transferred to a bigger hospital, without asking they returned our accomodation charge. They have since followed up several times to enquire on progress.

I notified The Byng on Tuesday evening approximately 44 hours before our arrival and explained what had occurred. To my surprise I was advised I was within the 48 hour cancellation window and we would be charged. After discussion, advised that if they resold the room we would receive a refund.

Five days after when we were due to arrive I chased the property to be told that they had resold one evening and we would receive a refund of one night. After discussing my total surprise I was advised they would speak to the owners. Shortly after I received a call saying they would not be offering a full refund as per conditions but as a gesture they would provide us with a credit. Considering we live 1000 km away and my wife will be unable to travel for many months, I found the offer offensive.

In hospitality it is about reading a situation and understanding that things may occur outside of peoples's control.

This total lack of empathy shown by the hotel has left us with a very bad impression of the property and those who make the decisions.

Hi Neil, Firstly, apologies for the delay in responding to your feedback. Trip Advisor have only just rectified a glitch whereby we have been unable to respond earlier. We do hope your wife's health has significantly improved. Whilst you cancelled within our cancellation window, given the circumstances we refunded one night's stay and provided a hotel credit for the second night. Given your hotel credit is valid for three years, we do hope you take the opportunity to book a stay with us in the future. Kind regards, Kristen, Thomas and the BSH team
