Next door to civic theatre and although room was over a busy Pub it was very quiet and spacious. An unpretentious hotel giving good value for money. Aircon a little noisy, but very effective. lift access, good Pub food and good bed.

Returned to Newcastle and the Clarendon after 11 months, same warm welcome (or welcome back). The room is big and good for the wheelchair, and the front bar has a happy hour, which was nice after a pretty long day. A beer for less than $5 is a bargain these days. The bistro has a variety of breakfasts available, but...

great place, had a lovely time looking around Newcastle, great for foodies & wine enthusiasts The Clarendon was ideally situated, staff are lovely, the food also lovely, though I wouldn't call it a restaurant, more a cafe or beer garden. The Clarendon doesn't serve breakfast on the weekends but this was no problem with a fabulous cafe just 2 doors...

Great place for a weekend away. Central location and very friendly staff. The bistro food was excellent and reasonably priced. Unfortunately our view from the balcony was over the rear courtyard and parking area. We still enjoyed our stay.

Mate and I stopped in for a quick lunch after a mornings work. The lady who served us was just lovely. Couldn't have been more friendly or helpful if she tried. Both steaks were perfect too. I'll be back.

I have stayed here many times. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and very quiet (except for the rooms directly above the restaurant). Central and in walking distance of many places. Nicely renovated old style building. Well priced.

comfortable room, reading area , balcony sheltered from the rain, so we enjoyed sitting out there. hotel is in a comfortable walking distance of the sights of Newcastle. Decor is in art deco style, beds and pillows very comfortable, and though on the main street, very little noise in the room, as the windows are double glazed with heavy blockout...

Between the barman and the waitress in the Restaurant we have experienced the kindest customer service ever. The waitress suggested modifications to the special of the day for me as dairy/gluten intolerant and the barman let me taste till I could chose the right wine for me. Thanks guys. Really appreciated.

Close to restaurants, beaches, walking paths. Convenient parking arrangements. The efficient and friendly staff are helpful. I have stayed at the clarendon hotel on multiple occasions for the same quality.

Nice layout and nice furnishings. Bathroom was spacious, large shower but the shower head was terrible and disappointing. Air con was noisy. Upon check in I discovered reception was closed on Sunday. When I got hold of someone to help I was told I didn't have a booking and I shouldn't have been able to make a booking due to...
