Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very ordinary is probably a compliment. Ordered Banh Mi which was supposed to come on a traditional Vietnamese bread roll - apparently a milk bun is the same thing. Dry pork, little bit of carrot, no dressing BUT, the fries were fantastic. Also had the roast pumpkin salad with freekah….freakin ordinary and sour cream must have been on special at Coles….way too much. As for the drinks, don’t ask for a bottled water, can of drink or mineral water….no have….so got a post mix in a plastic cup that smelt like a sweaty armpit…one of the worst pubs in Newcastle with no value for money and for a staff member to call the bloke in the kitchen a chef….joke

I ordered the 200g Rump steak lunch special as I have had it once before and loved it. Unfortunately this was a very different experience. I ordered medium rare and got blue or very rare steak. Sent it back but it was returned to me the same, or maybe slightly warmer but still basically raw. Very disappointed. The mash and veg were very nice but sadly I left hungry as the steak was inedible (to my taste). It was also disappointing that there was no follow up from wait staff or the kitchen to see if I was satisfied (given that the meal was returned).

Not a bad meal yet and that’s been mostly through menu log which can be rare on occasions. The gnocchi was by far my favourite and the schnitzel cooked to perfection. This is the main place I go for a pub feed.

we tried to enter your premise multiple times and they refused us and then would let intoxicated people enter the line, unsure why and concerned it was due to the sexuality of us, managers were extremely rude and honestly would reconsider their position

Terrible customer service. We were made to order our meal before we arrived for a 6.30pm booking. Told we had an hour then was asked to leave at 7pm because a party of 4 had just walked in. Making money was their only thought and zero care for customer satisfaction.

Honestly had a pretty unpleasant stay. The spa in the double king suite was not only missing a drain plug, it was dirty, we realised once filled with water. Also, we had a lady walk into our while we were inside, because the staff had accidentally given her a key to our room also. And that was not the first time someone just walked into our room, the next morning housekeeping let themselves into our room without knocking. Sounds like their food and bar is nice though.

Lovely place for a beer or two, friendly and helpful staff, food very good food too but accommodation is not their thing. Stay here if you have to as it has clean basic rooms but no covers on the doona, just the scratchy hairy inner against your skin, tea making facilities but no normal tea and not enough coffee given I was booked for 5 nights. No cleaner to empty the bin or refresh the towels in 5 days, fridge not clean on arrival, sketchy WiFi and about 100 tv channels, most of which are black screens very annoying to flick through channels to find a show. Staff on the ground are bar staff and were wonderful people who would help if they could, some things they can't change.

Caught up with a friend for a long lunch, and it was perfect, nice and peaceful, great food and service and loved the lunch specials. Parking is a bit of a problem, but the venue made up for it. The decor is very modern and comfortable, will be back for more of the same.

Nice lively location on one of the main street in Newcastle. Good area with lots of other bars, so it's usually pretty busy and a good night life atmosphere. A few different bars and areas to drinks inside.
