Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Junction Hotel is modern and quiet and in a great location for accessing the Merewether Beach or cafes and restaurants. There is free parking at the back of the hotel. The room was comfortable and I loved the bathroom. It had a rainfall shower and ambient lighting. At the end of the hall is a balcony for guests to use. I will stay here again. Definitely recommend!

We made a last minute booking on a drive from Sydney back to the Gold Coast. We chose the Junction based on its great reviews and also on the fact that there was a restaurant on-site, saving us from going out again.

On arrival, Anthony at the front desk offered a very friendly welcome and couldn't have been more helpful in organising car parking for us and then upgrading our room. Whilst I hadn't realised the restaurant was fully booked, Anthony also found a table for us and before finishing up for the night had made sure we were settled. All the restaurant staff were super friendly, the food fantastic and an incredible selection of wines available.

Our room was newly renovated and clean as well as being surprisingly quiet given that it is above a pub. Would highly recommend.

Seven of us blokes visited here for drinks and dinner. Service is slick, the staff friendly and the food great. We ate the rump, Flathead, ribs, calamari and prawn linguine and all meals were fresh, tasty and good value.

Popped in for lunch on a weekday, the staff were very attentive , great menu choices and reasonable prices. Didn’t have to wait long at all and the portion sizes were great. The decor and surrounds are lovely as was the whole experience.

Nice hotel in a lovely location not far from the Surfers Beach, and not too far to walk into town either. The bedroom was very modern with glass doors around the showers and toilets. Call me old fashioned and Jan & I have been married a long time, but not a good design feature. Having said that the bed was comfortable and the price was fair for a very modern room.

It's been 5 years since I've stayed at The Junction and remarkably I was identified as a returning customer when we arrived!

If this hotel was in Sydney there'd never be availability and it would cost twice as much. The rooms are gorgeous - just what you need for a couple of night's (or more) away. Each is different and booking is great fun picking the one you'd like to stay in.

Food is fantastic and it was great to finally see a full restaurant after COVID-19 and the drama's of 2020. The one thing I would say that I felt that the menu was even better from when I last stayed there.

The hotel is in a great location and had a real buzz when we stayed there. After staying in many of the hotels in Newcastle this is my de facto choice for a weekend away.

The hotel has done an excellent job in revampling the rooms and making them funky and hip. Location was awesome..near beaches and the town. Also quiet given the hotel below but we could not hear noise from our room despite staying on a Friday and Saturday night

Great place to stay and the Brekky was great!
We stayed here as a mother and daughter and although the rooms are suited for couples we were very comfortable. Great facilities- and don’t be worried about the pub downstairs, you cannot hear anything upstairs. We dined for breakfast both mornings and it didn’t disappoint (definitely use your accommodation breakfast vouchers). Very happy

Perfect. Modern room, tastefully decorated, a very comfortable bed, great shower, walk downstairs to an upmarket bar and award winning restaurant.
A couple of cafes across the road for delicious breakfast.
The staff are great, friendly and professional.
Worth 5/5.
My place of choice when I'm in Newcastle.

What an amazing night! Food superlative, service friendly and slick and the space modern and inviting. All of us chose something different and all of us loved our choices. Menu included pub stables as well as an imaginative changing gourmet menu. Definitely will be back.

How far away are you located from the ice skating rink? Also, are you far drive from Jesmond?

Hi Kenntob. We are probably a good 15-20 drive from the ice rink. Same distance to Jesmond.

Hi, When designing the accommodation we did keep this in mind with most guests saying the noise is minimal most nights. We don't have live entertainment during the week either, I would recommend to book over the phone direct and then you can discuss which rooms are still available and what the best one would be to suit your needs. We offer a porta cot too so be sure to book it. Thanks JH

Hi Annie, We sure do have top quality beds, this was one of the more important aspects we took into account when planning our accommodation. Most of our guests do mention how comfortable they are. Please be sure to let us know if you require any additions pillows etc if you choose to stay with us. Thanks JH x

Hello Just wondering about parking. What is on offer? Thank you for your help :D
Answer from Louise K
Newcastle, Australia2 contributions
Good Afternoon, There is plenty of on street parking around the hotel. The immediate block is timed parking (no parking ticket required) and then 1 block down is unlimted on street parking. A lot of our guests normally check in and then park their car for ease of unloading luggage. We do offer secured off street parking for an additional fee, parking spots are limited so we recommend booking this with your room if this is what you would prefer. I hope this answers your question. Please don't hesitate to give us a call on 0249628888 if you need further details. Regards Junction Hotel
