I had to travel periodically for work related reasons from February to May and needed a hotel near to the site location. The Merewether Motel was the best option and I am very glad it was. From the first stay I was impressed with the spacious rooms and equally impressed with the cleanliness of the entire complex. Maintenance is prioritised with this Motel and it shows with how well presented the entire property is. The Motel is clean inside and out.
The rooms are modern and spacious with all of the necessary fitting and features you would expect of a motel with a much higher price tag.
The fantastic staff are what made my stay feel much closer to home than I expected. I was made to feel very welcome and feel more comfortable with each stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to the wonderful staff.
The location is great with a restaurant next door, a pub 200m and several great restaurants well within walking distance. Only 5 minute drive from Newcastle City centre and two minutes to the beach.
Wasn't able to use the pool due to a little bug going around but it looked very inviting.

We originally booked here earlier in the year for a surgical procedure being undertaken by my wife at the nearby Lingard Hospital. Covid 19 put a halt to the first booking but we were able to have our booking held over until this was rescheduled. The rooms are quite comfortable with very good privacy blockout screens on the lower level units. There are numerous nearby eateries within walking distance and we were also given discount vouchers for the nearby South's Leagues Club. The included 'continental breakfast', toast and cereal, seemed a bit ordinary but the upgrade to a $10 breakfast provided 2 eggs on toast, bacon, tomato and sausage. Very tasty and served hot! I took advantage of the 'relaxed checkout' at 1pm, at a cost of $30, for the next day whilst my wife underwent her procedure. Staff were obliging and helpful. A good sized fridge and microwave provided, good shower. I do recommend this place and would stay again.

We stayed en route from Brisbane to Melbourne for a night and were very impressed especially given the motel status and the very affordable price point. Easily access from the highway yet also close enough for a walk to the nearby beach (or a very quick drive) with restaurants etc all within walking distance. check in service was excellent and the room was impeccably clean with a comfy bed and a great size that could easily be enjoyed for multiple days. Huge props to the focus on environmental factors within this property.

Stayed on ground floor in a small but clean and tidy motel. Queen bed very comfortable and pillows very soft and comfortable. Sheets were clean and crisp.
Hand basin was in bed room which I hadn’t seen before, however this was because of the environmental toilet which was in bathroom and recycled water when you washed hands. Shower was clean and water pressure good. Tea & coffee amenities provide. Order breakfast of toast and coffee which was good and delivered on time before we hit the road. Would recommend this motel and would stay again. Free off street parking provided. Value for money.

Located not far from Merewether Beach, this motel provides a very large room, quality mattress, large robe with iron and board, tub chair plus two chairs and table to eat supplied breakfast yes, breakfast included.
Fabulously friendly staff from the desk to the cleaners.
Clean looking pool but didn't have time to use it.
Next door is an Asian Fusion restaurant with the best Seafood Hotpot outside of Hong Kong!!!

The hotel had everything we asked for. Check in staff were very helpful with local attractions and the accommodation was great value for money. Ample parking available and showers in the family room we stayed in were particularly good. On a side note if you choose to eat in the next door Chinese restaurant allow yourself plenty of time. Slow as molasses.

We had a ten day stay (over Christmas) in a First floor standard room. The motel is well maintained with regular linen service during the stay. The check in was friendly and efficient. At the time of our stay, a Room Service, complimentary Continental breakfast was included. Good Covid-19 processes were in place and mostly adhered to by staff. All rooms are non smoking. We had a Standard room with a Pillow Top queen bed. The small bathroom is narrow rendering it unusable for wheelchair access. There is a small 'water saving' hand basin built into the top of the Cistern which run when the toilet is flushed. Unfortunately there is no where to put a soap. The normal sized hand basin is in the main room adjacent to the bed. A fridge, kettle, iron and ironing board were supplied. The room was clean, tidy and fresh with good quality towels and toiletries supplied & serviced daily. A kettle along with Milk, Tea, Coffee and Biscuits were supplied. We requested, a microwave, Wine glasses, Breakfast bowls and cutlery at time of booking, all were in the room on arrival. The room has good air-conditioning. If you leave the balcony door open at night for fresh air flow, you need to contend with the occasional noise of late night deliveries at the 24hr Service Station next door. We had a comfortable stay and will definitely return when next in Newcastle. The room phone to reception was not working.

We stayed overnight while visiting friends and family in the region. The room and surrounds were scrupulously clean, well maintained and quite comfortable. Service was friendly. I don’t think I’ve stayed in any better motel-style accommodation. The location is quite central and close to Merewether restaurants, cafes etc although the walk down to the beach is long-ish (~20min at a brisk pace).

Spotlessly clean, staff very helpful; good breakfast. This family run hotel is less than a kilometre from Lingard Hospital, so is a handy base if you need to stay for a night or two. The room boasted an interesting water saver toilet, which I had not seen before. The shower was hot, with good pressure and the a/c worked well. Having a Coles servo right next door was handy for coffee, snacks and microwave meals, which could be heated up in the room. With parking right outside the room, I would stay there again.

The room was very clean, comfortable and well presented. The check in process was easy and the staff welcomed you with a smile. The Continental and hot breakfast menus was great value for money and served freshly cooked and arrived hot.

Hi there - the Merewether Motel is about 20-25 minutes from both of those locations, unfortunately in different directions. The most centrally located accommodation to the 2 venues would be The Executive Inn. It is located as part of the Wests Club which also has plenty of dining options. In the past I have had family stay there and they were more than happy. Rooms are about $170/night.
