Just back from a great night spent at The Kingsley for my wifes 50th. From check in to check out the whole of the staff were so attentive and couldnt do enough for us. We stayed in a Park View Suite which was spectacular. Pre dinner cocktails at Rombergs, 5 star dinner with a spectacular view at The Roundhouse before a concert at The Civic and late drinks just up Hunter Street at a venue recommended by your staff, then back to our oh so comfy room and bed. Brekkie at The Roundhouse the next morning before checkout. The whole experience was awesome, cant recommend you guys enough... we will be back, and we only live 25mins away lol

Hotel's Favourite
Had the pleasure of staying at the Crystalbrook Kingsley, Newcastle on its opening day. Accommodation was excellent, the room had all the necessary amenities, very quiet and the beds were very comfortable. Sadly, the Roundhouse Restaurant was not open for dinner but was open for breakfast. Attentive and very polite staff presenting first class food for breakfast. Fantastic views. Had lunch at the hotel’s Miss M’s Cafe in the afternoon, again attentive and polite staff serving delicious food. Romberg’s Bar was open during the evening serving interesting and mouth watering bar snacks. Staff at the bar were again attentive and polite. All up, excellent hotel with great staff. Look forward to a return visit.

The HR has done well with recruitment - from the staff at check-in to the staff in the bar and restaurant - all were exceptional. The rooms are pleasant and the location is very central. We would certainly stay there again.

We have just got home from a brilliant overnight stay. We loved every moment. The staff at every level from check in to check out, room service, restaurant and bar, were all so attentive and warm and so professional. The scent on arrival is so lovely. The room is beautiful, not huge, but plenty of room and laid out perfectly, beautiful fittings, cloud like bed and pillows, fantastic shower and bathroom, with seperate toilet/powder room. Robes, slippers, comfy lounge chair, incredible view. Room 801 had perfect view over Civic park towards Art gallery. The Rombergs cocktail bar was fun and stunning to sit in for an hour before dinner. The barmen were brilliant. Watching them is incredible, it’s like an art. The restaurant was exceptional. Wait staff were amazing, food was first class, view amazing. Decor is lovely. Breakfast buffet is delicious! Plenty of choice, all delicious, and watching the rain pour down over the city, whilst in a cosy stunning location sipping on coffee was the perfect way to end our time here. As Newcastle locals I can say I will definitely be back for special occasions and would recommend this to anyone. Amazing what they have been able to do with the iconic building.

Very friendly service from the beginning until the end of our stay. Great location just a few minutes walk from Civic Light Rail stop. Very comfortable well appointed room. Fabulous bathroom! Loved the decor of the whole hotel from the lobby to the bar & restaurant. We couldn’t fault it & will definitely return for another stay when the Art Gallery reopens.

Was looking forward to our first stay here and was not overly impressed. The room has nice finishes and the environmental efforts made are great (no wasteful single use soaps, for example). But the bathroom is a bit small, towels feel cheap and the room is quite noisy - can hear the lifts going up and down and other guests coming and going on one side, and the road on the other. Lifts are also a bit of a pain - with only 2 servicing the whole hotel and the popular rooftop bar, it can be a long wait at times. Air conditioning also didn’t work initially, took a while for someone to come and look, still didn’t work and reception wouldn’t do the obvious thing and just move us to another room, despite saying others were available; they insisted we give them more time to try sort it out first. After coming back a few hours later, the air conditioning was just working with a weak airflow. Didn’t have the energy to go back yet again and ask for another room - it was a long night. For the price charged, I expected better and probably won’t be back.

Not only did Newcastle surprise and delight but the Kingsley was outstanding. The room blends both form and function - seldomly achieved in hotels. The other highlight were the staff. Despite mobile check in we were warmly welcomed, treated to wine tastings in the lobby and wowed by the Arthur at the Rhomberg bar. You won’t be disappointed by the Kingsley!

This is the second stay at Cystalbrook Kingsley, as soon as you enter this hotel the beautiful signature fragrance makes you realise you are staying somewhere special, the interiors are gorgeous with the clever circular design throughout. Staff are always available and accommodating. The price of this hotel for what it is and the location is excellent. We will be staying when we visit Newcastle again, I can't complain about anything, the only thing is you need to book the restaurant well in advance.

Due to COVID, this took a very long time to bring together: a booking for the bar, dinner AND a room on the same evening to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. I really LOVE the fitout - the eucalyptus shades on the top floor, the yellow/blue of the rooms and mosaics, totally gorgeous and high quality design and finish. The service needs to get slightly better for a 5-star place though: some of it was a bit too much like Year 10 Netball. Oh, and in the room, could we please have a decent mug size cup, not tiny little teacups? Commission some from a local potter for bonus points.
