Our young family of 6 stayed at Murray River Holiday Park and can highly recommend the place. Our cabin was spotless, all linen and the bathroom very clean. The amenities offered were also very clean and tidy including the pool area, bbq area, kids play areas and laundry. The location was probably the best part, right next door to the skate park, 5 minute walk to Moama Beach, 10 minute walk to Echuca, 2 mins to shops, pubs and clubs. The local markets were across the road which was awesome. We cannot wait to visit again!

Stayed two nights in a deluxe cabin.
Cabin and whole park was very clean, neat and tidy.
The park is very quiet and in a great location, we had no issues during our stay, found staff to be very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely stay here again.

We booked a grassed, powered caravan site for 3 nights. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Our site was spacious and handy to the camp kitchen which is well set up and was immaculate. The amenity block was clean and bright and not too far away from our site. The park is small and well kept and has a nice community atmosphere. The location is within walking distance to the Port of Echuca and the Murray River. We enjoyed our stay here and hope to return.

Fantastic location is unfortunately about all this park has going for it under current management. We were met with rudeness, arrogance and complete inflexibility from the moment we entered the park by the management.
The atmosphere is rigid and completely unfriendly. Understandably caravan parks
need to have rules for the betterment of all the guests to ensure safety of staff and patrons. This park is however next level with its rules and regulations making the atmosphere not relaxing, unenjoyable and as though you are constantly being watched which is far from what caravan and camping should be about.
We are experienced campers, to be told
we must follow the direction of Ken to enter our site again was met with rudeness and inflexibility. If he took a moment to hop off his high horse he may have understood that my husband has a hearing impairment
and was unable to adequately hear his directions, instead we were left feeling like we had done the wrong thing! Ken stood in view of my husbands car mirror obstructing his view of our van, he refused to move barking 'follow my instructions' to which my husbands response was that he would not continue to manoeuvre the van until he had clear vision of his pathway to ensure safety of our asset and others in the park. Again, we were made to feel at fault.
The amenities are adequate however the showers have very poor water pressure and the water was mostly cold after only a few moments. The park has 'strict cleaning' times that were not adhered to by management, this again was met with patrons being told off, or made to feel that way, for showering when management wanted to clean.
We have a small swagger tent for our older children (13,11) as they find it more comfortable to sleep in than the bunks in our van. We had to book another site to cater for this as tents, swags mats etc are not allowed on the grass, only on astroturf sites. The grass was in no way pristine, in fact we found it chewed up due to patrons not being able to utilise their camping rugs, not to mention grass being dragged all through the van. This is purely another example of management flexing their control and squeezing more money out of consumers. The astro sites were small with poor drainage.
Finally this park is dog friendly however their are no facilities that accommodate them and their is no safe agility area to exercise your pet as the grassed area out the front of the park is close to the main road.
We approached management, Ken in particular, on multiple occasions to ask questions or make general chit chat we were shut down each time with his arrogant and belittling attitude.
Feedback is a gift, we hope your park can learn something from our review and not excuse and defend your poor service.

Hi Helen, It seems your own review conflicts all the information given to you regarding park polices. The group booking of 5 families for Easter 2022 had been organised for the past 12 months, with yourself being the main organiser. Many emails were communicated regarding basic site policies (regarding swags and tents on grass sites) in advance. By communicating back to us and paying deposits and receiving the confirmation emails, that is receipt that you agree to all terms and conditions of your stay in our holiday park. All terms and conditions are available on our website 24/7 to read anytime, they are sent to you via your confirmation email and they are on the park map given to all guests upon arrival. We do not mention nor have the facility of a “agility area” for pets. If you’re travelling with pets, it’s up to you to follow with pet policies in park. Not all pet friendly parks have to have one of these areas. We only remain pet-friendly as 99% of our guests follow the pet policies. Your large group booking continually had dogs off there leash at their sites and there were multiple dogs inside the BBQ area. Ken, guides everyone onto site, being a privately owned holiday park, this is a service we offer to ensure all guests get the maximum use of their site. Bianca mentions this to all guests upon check in, that Ken would meet the caravan there and guide them onsite. Ken guided your husband on site first go, communication between them was good. Another one of your guests (Mr Graham) from the large booking did not appreciate this service and started using offensive language towards Ken. Our grass is certainly our pride and joy, our grass is thick, lush and green. There are no “chewed up” areas at all on any of our grass sites. The sites you were allocated were X2 slabs sites, X3 astro turf sites and X1 grass site. Being most accommodating to your group, we had these all allocated right next to each other with the astroturf almost directly across from the other sites. We allow holiday park mats under your awning (shade cloth, which most experienced holidaymakers like yourself would use). If you chose not to use this, I guess it’s clear to assume you may end up with grass inside your caravan. Our astro turf sites are of an adequate size (8X8m) of which some are wider than some of the grassed sites. On the second last night of your groups stay, management went to stoke the wood fire in the BBQ entertaining area when we noticed multiple dogs from your large group inside the BBQ area. Being a very wet night from the rain, the BBQ area was quite packed with guests. Management asked your group to remove them and take them outside or back to you site (as pets are not permitted inside the BBQ/kitchen cooking area), management was then met with rudeness, foul language from two guests from your group with one of your guests imitating the motion to “throw a punch” towards management, witnessed by other holidaymakers inside the BBQ area at the time and caught on CCV. It was from this behaviour in front of children and other guests from the park that this guest was evicted from the holiday park the following morning. Upon signing your guest registration form, we have a ZERO policy to offensive/ rude behaviour, excessive use of alcohol and acts of violence. We received numerous calls from other holidaymakers in the park stating multiple dogs were off their leashes daily, your powered sites were littered with rubbish and multiple pets inside the BBQ area on more than one occasion. It is evident from our other Google and other social media reviews we continuously receive great feedback and I’m positive other guests looking to book with us will read between the lines with your review and understand it was in fact your large group breaking the most basic park polices. It’s safe to say “safe travels elsewhere”, as MRHP is NOT your home on the Murray in the future. There was simply no excuse for such offensive/ rude behaviour, dogs off their leads, littered sites, foul language and acts of violence in our holiday park, when all measures were taken from our end regarding park policies. It’s common holiday park etiquette that these basic policies are met by all holidaymakers, any time of the year staying in a holiday park.

I telephoned this park to book a site for our 31 ft motorhome and a cabin for other family members joining us for the weekend, the lady I spoke to was lovely and booked a site then a cabin close to our site, she assured me that although it was a budget cabin it was older and dated but very clean and comfortable. A few days later I telephoned again to book another site for other friends who wanted to join us with their caravan and I requested the site beside ours - this was done for us but the lady I spoke to this time was not friendly at all and was bordering on quite rude. If I had not already paid for the first night of the cabin and our site I would have looked elsewhere. Also at this time other friends had decided to join us and they booked the 3 bedroom deluxe cabin.
Upon the arrival of our friends to the 3 bedroom cabin (they arrived before us) they booked in and once getting to their cabin they found the toilet not working - staff came to fix it and whilst they were trying to fix it our friends asked for the code for the amenities block as they were busting to go to the toilet. They were refused this by the first staff man as he stated they do not give the code to people staying in cabins..... Another staff member came a short time later and they again requested the code and thankfully he gave it to them and my friend was finally able to go to the toilet.
Our arrival to the site was uneventful and we were set up beside our friends, although I did find the male staff member who helped us to back into the sites to be quite unfriendly. Our family arrived later for the budget cabin and upon their arrival - number one they were not given a cabin where I believed it was going to be and number 2 they were very very very disappointed with the cabin. Yes it was dated but cupboards did not open or close, parts of the cupboards were falling apart, the bedroom door did not close, the main bed was downhill (your head was down), the floor on a lean and the couch was very uncomfortable. The only good thing about this cabin was that the heater worked.
We used the camp kitchen whilst we were at this park and it was lovely, clean, warm and a great place for all 14 of us to be together. The first night Noel came in and chatted to us a few times and at about 10pm came back and chatted again but then also informed us that he had to lock up the kitchen. We all happily went off to our vans / rooms. The next night again we were in there and at 10pm on the dot a male staff member opened the door and said "Get Out". We were not doing anything wrong and we know that it was lock up time but honestly the rudeness was just next level.
This park was small but clean and tidy. It was very disappointing how horrible the budget cabin was. The deluxe cabin was definitely better but not really what you would call "deluxe". The rudeness and unfriendliness of some of the staff was very unpleasant and for this reason alone (not even taking into account how bad the budget cabin was), we will not being going back.

We were made unwelcome because we made our booking thru bookings.com.
Because of this we were placed in the parks most budget cabin. We were not intitled to toiletries, except soap. When we requested a face washer were told we were not entitled to one in our tariff, so go buy one.
Would not recommend this establishment

Hi Anne, You made your booking via Booking.com yourself and selected the Budget cabin option. The cabin listed has full details of what is included. The photos in the description of the cabin are clear and true to what they are. As the name of the cabin suggests, they are a "budget" option. Perhaps in the future, you may like to book a Deluxe or Superior cabin for a little more in price, they come with more "home features" such as face washers, hairdryers, and hand towels that you would be after in a cabin. Your husband only came to the reception to enquire about if the cabin came with them, you were never "not entitled" to one as you mentioned or told to "go buy one". Thanks MRHP

We recently spent four nights at this "holiday park" and were very disappointed. My husband and I are currently on a month long trip in our caravan and have stayed in some fabulous parks, but we were particularly looking forward to this park as the Moama/Echuca area is so lovely.

The park is very, very small and chock full of cabins, which are incredibly close together. The powered site we were given was at the back of the park (our view was a very ugly "service" area filled with garden supplies and other materials). The site was tiny - the smallest I have ever encountered in many years of camping and caravanning. Although there are some grassed sites, ours had astro turf, which I personally don't like (I felt like I was in a caravan showroom rather that a camping park!) but of course this comes down to personal preference. The site was next to a gate, which led to the service area and for three out of the four days we were there the park management zoomed in and out of this gate in a variety of vehicles, sometimes at speeds far greater than the park rules allowed.

Which brings me to the park rules: there are many and the camp managers are at pains to let patrons know about them constantly. At times, this statement and restatement of the rules felt unfriendly, almost aggressive. Of course parks must have rules to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests, however, this park seems more concerned with imposing arbitrary rules than guest enjoyment.

At one point we were aggressively told to put our dog on a leash. (This was yelled at us loudly from a camp manager who had been roaring in and out of the service gate all day.) Our dog was leashed and on our site as per the camp rules. At no time was our dog off leash in the park. We were at pains to follow all park rules while we were there. Therefore, this rudeness was not appreciated.

The excessive noise (chainsaws, earthmoving equipment etc) coming from the service area directly adjacent to our site prevented us from enjoying any outdoor time at the park. This noise went all day for three of the four days we were there.

Positives were a neat and tidy park, proximity to the river and to the port of Echuca (a longish walk but doable) and the fact that pets are allowed. (Please note that while this park tolerates dogs, it is far from dog friendly. The sites are tiny and there is literally nowhere else in the park dogs are allowed.)

The amenities are old, but reasonably clean.

I noticed there were very few facilities for kids. The playground is a cubby (tiny) and there's no other equipment other than a basketball hoop. (And the giant chess set - which did look good!) There is a small pool, however.

Overall, this park would be fine for an overnight stop, but is not up to the standard that I would expect for a "holiday". There are many better choices in the area.

We had a wonderful stay here. Cabin was perfectly clean and spacious. Kids are 9&11 and had heaps of room. Perfect having a picnic table outside.
BBQs were clean and worked well. Swimming pool was freezing but it is advertised as unheated so can’t complain. Kids still swam for ages. Good shade over the pool too. Basketball area was good except balls can easily go over the fence and have to be retrieved with a big walk around. Perfectly situated to walk over into Echuca town centre if you don’t mind a walk. Easily doable with kids our kids age we did it both days.
Wifi worked well.
Pillows were huge which didn’t suit me but if that’s the worst part then we had pretty awesome time!

Hi Y9430RZ, Looking on my booking chart at these dates where I have 2 families travelling together, you booked our Budget cabins which are listed as our dated "older and preloved" cabins. Given we had just come out of months of lockdown where all our cabins had a deep clean twice over we find it odd that they "smelled". Had you known this to management prior to departure we would have been more than happy to rectify your situation about this. Thanks

At owners discretion and only if you have your own caravan. Not during school holidays, peak periods and festival weekends. It pays to check with us first. No Pets at all in cabin accommodation. Thank you for your enquiry.
