Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A group of 20 of us chose RR for our annual three day golf and relaxation stay. We have been there previously but about five years ago.
We arrived with a bit of reservation as previously the resort accommodation had been decidedly below standard I.e rain guttering rusted out, window edges covered with paint.

There have been some improvements and the units are now quite acceptable.

The units are not 5 star by any means but they are spacious enough and comfortable .

A/C and heating is available but only in the rear dining area. The only cooling the the bedroom is a ceiling fan,and I would not like to be in the unit on a 30degree plus day. On a cold day one would be looking for the electric blanket, but there is none.

The large bed is actually two singles pushed together

The Wi fi hopeless, at least in our unit #57. Others did not report the same

Large bed but actually two singles pushed together. Quite comfortable

East course greens very good but fareways could be improved, and off fareways large areas of dirt. West course is similar but a bit longer
Staff at resort friendly and helpful

Meals... pretty typical club/pub grub. Quite busy but staff handled it well. Prices quite reasonable. Vegetables almost cold on second night ( plated up before the meat/ chicken finished cooking?)

Very good mini golf course available

We stayed two nights recently at the rich river golf club.
The accommodation was not expensive and did the job. The dated room needed some tlc, but we were happy enough with it.
We decided to have a go at hitting some balls on the driving range. The golf pro was a legend and very helpful.
Afterwards we had a beer and watched some races in the new bar and TAB area. This would have been a more pleasurable experience if we were talented enough to back a winner.
Afterwards, we are dinner outside near the bistro. I ordered the $22 steak and it was one of the best value for money steaks I've eaten. My partner had the aranchini balls but said they were ok at best.
We topped it off with a hit of mini golf.
The staff were all extremely helpful during our stay and very friendly.
One huge positive was the shuttle bus, which took us to Echuca for our dinner reservation. The driver was very chatty and answered all our questions.
All in all, even for non golf lovers, this place is a great place to stay for couples or families.
If there was any negative, it was that we waited and waited for the shuttle bus to pick us up and when we rang they said they were running late, a simple call beforehand may have been a nice gesture.

Accommodation is clean and relatively spacious. There is a small kitchenette, Lounge and bedroom. The latter consists of two large ish Single mattresses zipped together to create a king size bed

The rooms are getting dated and need major works to get them to modern standards

I wonder how comfortable the units would be in hot weather. The only air conditioner is in the lounge area, quite a distance from the bedroom. The latter is served by an overhead fan only

The rooms are not serviced with the exception of towel changes when requested.
There are Bowling facilities, and a swimming pool

WiFi is iffy at the best of times. I found it very inconsistent , and when operating measures no more than 6/10 mbpd down load

Staff in the dining area are very good, friendly and helpful. Meals are varied but largely fried Offerings. After four days stay the menu became increasingly difficult to choose.

Apart from the greens, both courses are in very poor condition. Room service is not available on weekends. I was informed that if you want room service (cleaning/making your bed) you have to pay an extra $10.00. What's next, use the restroom $20.00?? Unfortunately the food in the restaurant is still bad. The breakfast was a disaster, the bacon wasn't grilled, the sausage had no taste, the fried eggs (sunny side up) were totally overcooked. The coffee was served after the meal.
We still had a great time with our golf club. But that was up to us and certainly not to the external circumstances.
I wish the club finally hired a capable chef to look forward to a fantastic meal.

The Resort at the Rich River Golf Club has gone terrible in that the rooms are not serviced daily any more considering the cost per night is very expensive you get nothing for the cost. The Floor in the bathroom is never mopped. If you get a sponge and rub the floor you will see how dirty it is. There is no phone in the room to call reception if there was an emergency or any other query. There are holes in the floors and walls which require fixing. The toilet cubicle is dirty and never cleaned. The worst part is that the staff never told us that there were mice and snakes to watch out for. We had a mice two days consecutively in our room. In the garden in the middle of the units there is a sign saying "beware of snakes". The Club and the staff has an obligation to inform people visiting and staying that there are mice and snakes. The breakfast in the Bistro was awful. Two days we had breakfast there the bacon was not cooked properly. The cappucino was cold and the egg was cold. They need chefs who know how to cook. Will never renew my membership or stay there again.

The room was large with bedroom, lounge room/ kitchen, and large bathroom.
We stayed 4 nights. Basic housekeeping was conducted daily, and the House keepers were helpful and friendly.
There's a pool and a small gym.
The restaurant had different specials each night - very good value. For $10, it is well worth becoming a member, since the discounts are generous.
Location is out of town ..... that's one of the nice things about it,
We will definitely stay again.

I stayed here with my husband and two young children (3 and 5). We had an absolutely amazing time.

The staff managed our booking to ensure the children were catered for, talked us through the procedures re check in (and Covid), facilities, and gave advice on what to do to enjoy our stay.

We ate breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks on-site and had zero complaints. Loved every bit of it! Again, the staff were lovely and helpful.

We played mini golf in a picturesque location, spent heaps of time in the spa which was big enough for the kids to swim in - and beautifully heated on the cooler days, and searched for wild life amongst the gardens.

We left the club once during our stay and came straight back, we didn't need to be anywhere else.

Thank you.

My wife and I had lunch at Rich River Golf Club in late February and found it to be every bit as good as it's been previously. The refurbished clubhouse oozes class, the menu is extensive and the food is excellent. Few places offer a better location with large panoramic windows providing sweeping views of the beautifully manicured course. Prices are very reasonable for both food and beverages and the staff make you feel very welcome. This venue is a must-do for my wife and me every time we visit Echuca.

Had a visit back to this venue.Meals have gone up in price and more selections available senior's children etc. This is now reflected more so in the presentation and quality of the meals offered.Staff are friendly and informative always ready to please and keep the lines moving along Plenty of room in bistro area so not sitting on top of each other. There is another area available for light meals and coffee etc. I selected a beef stir fry at $12.50 portion was more than ample and probably one of the best I have ever had to date.Complimented the chef and team on way out.

We hadn’t been to the Club for some years but we’re grateful and impressed by the recent renovations. Not only did the courtesy bus meet us on time and provide great local insights throughout the journey but on arrival we were met by courteous staff who signed us in and explained the golf, croquet and mini golf etc that was available. We ate at the bistro and were so pleased with our attendant Ms Billie, who was not only a great ambassador but a joyful and happy lady. The meals (two steaks, a veg curry and risotto) were great meals and well above pub fare - in presentation, value and generous servings of great local produce that one over our group. Some drinkettes, mini golf and a ride home on the courtesy bus was a hoot. Well done and thanks for being such gracious hosts.
