This would be a five star review except for the rude male security staff member who was upset with us that we hadn't signed in(covid19) as we entered, there was no sign or register for customers at the entrance, it was obviously his job to check people in(record details) as they arrive, but we must have unintentionally caught him out, resulting in his rude behaviour towards us. All other staff members were great, fast, good quality food, steak cooked perfectly. With 20yrs experience in hospitality, I get fed up with people in the industry who either don't enjoy what they do or don't know how to talk to people. If you don't like it, do us all a favour and leave or lean how to interact with customers appropriately.

We had a lovely meal. Good value for money and a large serving. Very busy and the prices were fair. Lots to choose from the menu. The meal was large enough because we didn't have sweets.
Very easy to find, just over the river from Echua, turn left and Border Inn is on the right hand side of the road.

The Moama Motel provides well-located and comfortable motel rooms behind one of the two pubs under the same ownership. This gives a choice of on-site eating, one (we didn't try) more up-market, and the other pizza/pasta/family friendly, with a bar with pool tables etc. as well.
There is a tiny open-air swimming pool which was a welcome dip on a hot day. The pool was a bit leafy - it was the start of the season - and in the morning two ducks were enjoying it, which might have put us off the day before!
The motel itself was basic, with no hair drier or toiletries, but that was reflected in a really low rate in a town which has plenty of motels - well worth haggling unless there's a special event in town.
Breakfast was in the room, the usual toast and cereals.

We recently stayed in one of the motel type units.
All we wanted was a bed for the night and knew we wouldn't be in a palace but for the price I would have expected a little more.
The rooms are very basic, a bit tired but the bed was reasonable.
The bathroom was extremely dark with poor lighting.
The worst issue was when you opened the shower door and ran the water the sewerage smell was terrible.
We were running late for a wedding so didn't have time to complain and swap rooms but skipped the shower the next morning and headed home very quickly.
The breakfast was basic but as we wanted to leave quickly we even skipped that.
Don't think we will be back.

I stayed in a room behind the Border Inn,which is really more for visiting tradies than a couple wanting a nice motel room, for a weekend away. The rooms BADLY need refurbishing ( a coat of paint would be a great start),but....they are comfortable. They have the usual amenities like air-con, toaster, jug, fridge & tv (which actually had a digital set-top box connected. VERY upmarket,I must say....lol) Really, just the basics, you need, if staying overnight or for a few days. It cost me $65 a night & I couldn't really complain. The bed was nice & comfy, too. Had a great night's sleep. Overall...these rooms are ok, if you just want somewhere to sleep & shower, while you explore Echuca, Moama & the surrounding areas.Just don't expect the Taj Mahal. You're also permitted to use the pool, across the road @ their other motel,if you need.

Stayed two nights. Agree with earlier review. Room had three brick walls. Bed was clean and comfortable. Bathroom no window very dark. Service non existant. Directed to leave towels on floor if repacements required. Service staff did not enter room. No towels for second morning. Incorrectly thought we might be lucky and staff might change linen and make bed. Better accommodation at similar price available.Tony

Very impressed with the food and service. A great range of classic pub meals but they took it up a notch or two with dishes such as prawn linguine as well as barramundi with potatoes, braised leek and peas.. both of which were absolutely delicious.

I had the job of finding accommodation for 11 workmates who were travelling from Melbourne, Wangaratta, Yarrawonga and Narrandera and a day out on a BBQ boat on the Murray at Echuca/Moama. All of my workmates were extremely thankful for my great choice. We were treated like royalty by the team. The could not do enough for us. Accommodation was very clean and tidy and the Bistro meals that night were first class. All staff were outstanding and the breakfast was also a winner. I had been in Hotels for 25 years and never have I found such value and more importantly atmosphere and service all in the one spot. GREAT GREAT SPOT.

The staff were very friendly & professional, ensuring that we had a room on the ground floor, to assist my husband's mobility issue. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The location is excellent. Walking distance to shops, cafes and clubs.
Bed had an electric blanket, which was very welcome on a cold night.
We will definitely visit this hotel again.
