We’re so happy that we chose this accommodation. The room is clean (looks like it was recently renovated), it’s got everything you need — they even have Netflix. The staff are friendly and gives great recommendations for restaurants and things to do in Dubbo. They have a clean pool too. We loved our stay and we will definitely stay at Blue Gum again when we visit Dubbo.

This is a very well run hotel. My room was in good condition, and had lots of thoughtful touches - a coffee plunger and toaster, lots of power points, a proper desk chair for people who need to work from the hotel and an electric blanket on the bed. While it's located on the main highway, the parking lot is accessed from a side street. The hotel's location is also good, as it's a 5 minute drive or 10-15 minute walk into the centre of town. In line with the advice on their website, I made my booking by phone and received a slightly lower rate than the online rate.

The only downside of the hotel is that the soundproofing on one side of my room didn't seem very effective, as the TV in the next room was audible, and led to an irritating amount of noise until late at night. I didn't hear a peep from the person on the other side. There was almost no noise from the highway.

Response from Rob Zatta, Owner at Bluegum Dubbo Motel
Responded 14 Aug 2020
We're delighted that you enjoyed your two night stay, and that you were extremely comfortable. But we're very sorry that you were disturbed on your last night by your neighbour. He apologised profusely the next morning as he realised he fell asleep watching a rather loud movie. He wanted us to pass on his apologies. We encourage our guests to call at any time to advise us of any disturbances so we can ensure everyone has a good nights rest.Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for booking direct. Happy travels, Manda & Rob (Proud small business owners)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bluegum with our 2 children in a queen executive room. We stayed for 3 nights to visit the Dubbo Zoo. The room is exceptionally well designed with a spot for everything including a multistory shelved area for suitcases. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, the air conditioner quiet and the curtains blocked the morning light well. The owners were lovely and we enjoyed a chat to them on the morning of check out. We only had one issue during our stay which was due to some inconsiderate fellow guests smoking downstairs in a non smoking area, with a large volume of smoke coming straight into our upstairs room. My husband called reception and they dealt with the situation very efficiently. They also followed up with us the next day to check everything was OK which we appreciated. Also a special mention of housekeeping who made our room up each day to a very high standard (and I am fussy!). Highly recommend this property!

Such a surprise! My husband and I have just checked in and we are so incredibly pleasantly surprised with this motel.

The room is immaculately clean and beautifully styled. Polished chrome ware and beautiful fresh bed linens and extra pillows. A great minibar selection and a huge TV with all the added apps - Netflix, YouTube, Spotify to name a few.

Complimentary wifi which connected easily and has a strong signal.

Great aircon

Good security with the room door being electronic key access as well as a deadbolt.

Also really appreciate the Covid awareness - hand sanitiser both in the office and in the stairs to the room and all remotes have been wrapped in plastic.

Terrible pictures but just to show how beautifully clean this room really is.

From first contact with Rob the stay was amazing .
We travel this route several times a year and we now have found our MUST stop at Motel .

Cleanliness is above standard , the modern decor is fantastic , not a thing has been missed .

On entry to the room , air con on , light and music playing , felt like home . These small things make me happy , we are in the over 60 age group and get disappointed so often by Hotels/Motels , Quest Griffith could learn a lot from the owners here .
We spent seven days in Griffith , our stay would have been more enjoyable in this Motel .

Thank you so much for storing our ice bricks and Riverina produce .

Room service for Dinner was great , Soup and Curry top notch .

Dubbo has such a huge choice in motels and not being a frequent traveller out this way, had no idea where to start at booking a last minute overnight stay on a long road trip.

What appealed - king size beds (not zipped singles), quiet sound proof rooms away from the main roads, in room dining. That ticked all the boxes for today. It was after all just an overnight stay. Arriving late in the afternoon we were greeted warmly and directed to our room which was, as promised, off from the main road. We opted for a an Executive King room which was modern, spacious, impeccably clean nicely furnished - especially the two leather armchairs which were very comfortable. ( How often these days do you book a double room and there is only comfortable seating provided for one!). The bathroom was compact but perfectly adequate with a good shower. I like that the toiletries are provided in pump packs.

After a long drive, dinner was definitely in house. A small dinner (home style) menu but with a good range of dishes is available. Both our meals were beautifully cooked ( one of the best steaks I have eaten) and flavoursome. Room service was definitely the way to go this evening though there are a couple of restaurants within a short walking distance if a venture out is needed. Charge back is offered with some local restaurants.

Sleep was not difficult as the bed and linen were of great quality. Comfort plus is the best way to describe our short stay at the Bluegum. A place where you feel welcomed and well cared for and the owners are proud of what they are delivering. Looking forward to another opportunity to stay.

This was our families first visit to Dubbo so did a lot of research to find a superior motel with a pool for cooling off after all our tourists visits
The Bluegum did not disappoint !!!
Firstly I rang to book directly but unfortunately they were fully booked although the friendly owner took my details then kindly rang me back 3 days later offering availability. I was impressed
On arrival the property is simple with appealing modern upgrades . Spotlessly clean with large comfortable rooms we stayed in executive room & superior rooms they had everything you needed with a small kitchenette Nespresso machine, nice bathroom products and even a yoga mat.
The owner also organised our dinner booking at The Pastoral hotel with courtesy bus pick up
the pub dinner was delicious.
Highly recommended this property for your Dubbo stop over.

At first glance this unassuming little motel doesn't look like much but step inside the doors of reception and you are greeted with friendliness and efficiency to check in to rooms that put those of some of the best hotels we've stayed in to shame!. Comfortable beds, a pillow menu!, Flat screen TV with limitless viewing options, and a sparkling clean refreshing pool just outside your door to revive after a long drive. Our family were absolutely delighted with this property and cannot recommend it highly enough, small in size but gigantic in quality! Thank you Amanda & Rob, the Flis Family will be back!

With so many accommodation options in Dubbo we weren't sure where to go but we're SO pleased we choose Bluegum. The rooms have everything you need, are very comfortable, quiet and the Motel is located close to Dubbo's attractions. Rob at reception was very helpful with recommendations and directions. We'd definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 5 nights on a trip to the central west, and it was so good we came back 3 nights later. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, and the room was terrific - very clean, large, had a kitchenette which was great as we travel with our own breakfast, and a very comfortable king size bed. A/C and TV remote had been disinfected after the last guests and placed in plastic, and all surfaces were disinfected daily. We could not fault anything. Even the WiFi worked exceedingly well, which is not usually the case. Very reasonable rates for such a good motel. If we come back to Dubbo this is where we'd stay.

the parking is usually pretty good and a trailer should fit, i would call them in advance and they might be able to set aside a spot for you. As others have said there is no onsite restaurant, however the room service menu is great and the food is delicious. I have not had a bad meal there ever, and the breakfast is also very good and fresh.

Howdy, Thanks for the message. Reception closes at 9.00pm , but we have a process if you are arriving after this time. Just put your eta on the booking and we'll organize the rest.
