The park is in a great location (albeit with a decent amount of road noise from the highway) and very accessible to all attractions.
It has a pool to enjoy with an excellent shade cover, good sized jumping pillow and “old school” playground which has been repainted to be bright and colourful, as well as basketball hoop for the older kids to enjoy. The whole play area is shaded with shade sails and the playground has an excellent kid safe fence.
The amenities have had a recent refurbishment, look great, and do what they need to do.
Unfortunately other than having good (possibly brand new) connection boxes for vans that it about all I can say positive about the sites.
As new(ish) owners of the park the NRMA has a lot of work in front of them as the sites are dust, rocks and really unpleasant.
The park prides itself in being dog friendly and I don’t see this as a positive as honestly there were more dogs than kids. Yes the owners were all responsible and all dogs on leads (with no evidence of dog mess) however when a dog is on a site for a period of time and only has a limited space to urinate in it smells and if you are the next person on the site with small kids - gee lucky you!
I’m sure it is an unpopular opinion but if this is the way that all NRMA sites are headed we will be finding other parks from now on.
Check in experience great and everyone in the office friendly and helpful.
I wish the NRMA well in their ownership but we will not be staying here again.

We’ve visited this park on a few occasions over five years, always on a powered van site. On this occasion we once again found a well managed park with all the facilities needed to a good standard. We stay here not only for this reason but also because it’s so convenient to beautiful downtown Dubbo. Now under NRMA management it remains a great choice when visiting Dubbo with tidy slab sites and pleasant trees and grass. The facilities are to a high standard, particularly for families - camp kitchens, swimming pool and playground, COVID-safe measures in place.

The cabin was fine and the atmosphere friendly. Unfortunately we put in "Dubbo Holiday Park" into the GPS and it took us to the Discovery Park site. The reception staff there were very friendly even though we were in the wrong place. The cabins looked modern and newly painted. When we got to the NRMA park it seemed a little tired in comparison but it was fine. And to note the Discovery Park cabins are more expensive so I guess you get what you pay for

We booked a 2-bedroom Deluxe Cabin with River Views for three nights. There are eight 2-bedroom cabins in all, but only five of these have river views, and so to ensure that we would indeed get one of the river view cabins we booked it well in advance and also sent a message to the holiday park specifically emphasizing our requirements. We received a reply that our requests had been noted and confirmed. However, on arrival three weeks later we were told that all five river view cabins were reserved for a school group, and we were instead allocated a cabin with views of the rubbish bins and dumpsters and the untidy maintenance yard next door. (I have attached two photos – one showing the cabin view we had booked, and another of the view that we actually had.) Furthermore, throughout our stay no school group occupied any of the five river view cabins (#72-76), in fact on each of the three nights we were there, one of these cabins remained unoccupied. And there were other problems in our “Deluxe” cabin without river views : 1) There was no remote control for the TV and we had to go back to reception to get one. 2) The toilet was “full” from a previous occupant, and the flush didn’t work so that maintenance had to be called. 3) the “full kitchen” had only two tiny pots for cooking – no frying pan, carving board and other kitchen essentials. 4) On our last night, without warning, there was no water in any of the units. This happened after 6pm. with no more staff onsite after hours, and no emergency telephone contact number to the management. Fortunately this problem was somehow fixed after approx. two hours. 5) Very noisy at night from truck traffic on the highway. These cabins are old and tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. All up, a most unpleasant holiday experience!

We hired a 2 bedroom standard cabin (C) and it was definitely not up to standard. These are our complaints: Could not lock the door from the outside, difficulty opening and closing door. Beds not made, sheets and bedding just folded in a heap when we arrived. We cleaned all the benches and flat surfaces before we moved in as they weren't clean. No extra blankets. No heater. No extra roll of toilet paper available (only 1/2 on the holder).Saucepan lids didn't fit saucepans. No tea towel. Mattresses on the bunk beds were covered in thick plastic and were uncomfortable and noisy. They were like hospital beds. We chose the park because it was an NRMA sponsored one, never again, we will avoid NRMA parks altogether in the future.

Just some recent photos from our stay in Dubbo..... We were moved from the original motel room as upon entry there was a skid mark of poo in the clearly uncleaned toilet. An empty toilet roll left beside the toilet. The shower was dirty also. The office lady was lovely and promptly assured us that she had inspected motel room 6 herself. Upon entry the motel rooms seemed ok. The fridge needed some attention and when I returned the key to room 8 the same lady said that was the only thing she hadn’t checked was the fridge. We went up to the pool that was lovely and on the jumping pillow. Went back to the cabin and wanted to use the bathroom. I have been unable to upload the video I have. When I showed the lady in the office the next day, she got the cleaners and showed them the video and the photos. The cleaners thanked me for showing them. There was no apology no attempt to rectify the experience. On the plus side, the site my in laws stayed on was nice. The pool was enjoyable. We won’t be staying there again. The rating was a 2 just based on the fact that my in-laws site was ok and the pool, jumping pillow and park were enjoyed by my son. (But honestly, poo in the toilet?????)

We stayed here on the weekend. Our accomodation was in one of their motel units @$120 per night. What can I say.....the unit we stayed in was very run down and badly needing repairs. The aircon wasn’t able to be adjusted as the remote didn’t work. The kitchen range hood was broken and not working and falling apart. No light in the microwave. The front screen door fly wire was falling off, meaning we couldn’t leave the main door open as flies and mozzies could just come straight in. The foam mattress on the bunk bed was very old and had torn material cover. Our kids couldn’t wash their hands in the bathroom as there was no plug for the basin and seperate taps, meaning they had to wash in cold water. No bedside lamp anywhere and the only lights were the bright fluorescent room lights, which made getting up to the toddler in the middle of the night, difficult. We had to use the torch on the phone for subtle night light. The park itself is located right on the highway and there are trucks constantly passing by. It is very noisy. The park has a pool, jumping pillow and trampoline the kids enjoyed. Also a small playground went down well, but the old motel units are way beyond their use by date and need updating.

We wanted to stay in this campsite on a tent site without electricity. The boss told us at that moment that all this site were already booked. We had to take one with electricity. The next day we realized that all site without electricity locations were released. So we told that to her and his answer was: "We wearing the grass" It was wrong because other campers booked these location a few days later. Knowing a night with electricity in this campsite costs the double than a standard location. Thank you trust! In addition, the cleaning of the kitchen available to campers is absolutely disgusting. The pool is never clean. The only positive point is playing air for children. Clearly, other campsites near this one are much better.

Hi, Thank you for sending us a message. We are sorry for any miscommunication in regards to the sites. Unfortunately, we were wearing our grass at the time of your stay and could not allow guests to stay on them. Please be ensured that all our amenities are cleaned to a high standard. We hope we still have the opportunity to welcome you all back in the near future. - Joshua

There are things I expect in a quality caravan like NRMA and the big4
1. Light did not come on in camp kitchen and no switch I could find 2. Shower light timed out and sensor is not activated from shower cubicle. You need to exit shower and move around in the main area. 3. No mop in shower area. It’s in a mess and you leave it in a mess. No option to make it presentable for next person 4. Bindis are everywhere seriously everywhere. Mind you it was like this a couple years ago as well 5. A small thing but the hot water in the shower is not marked so you stand there for ages waiting for it to come on only to find it’s opposite to what you thought. Please mark the taps 6. Another small but very annoying thing is the number pad to get into toilet facilities is not illuminated so if you’re in a hurry at night you can imagine what I was thinking

Very happy to find this park after an unfortunate experience at another park in Dubbo. This park is not too big and is well laid out with reasonable sized sunny concrete sites. The facilities are top class, park is well lit and the staff very friendly. Looking forward to returning to this park to do the Gaol and other places of interest. $41 pn.
