I really wanted to like this motel because you can see they've put so much effort into doing it up. The rooms have been tidied up with modern designs and decent quality bathroom fittings. If it was at a lower price point it would be a 4 or 5, but it just didn't complete with other motels in town in this price range (I travel to Dubbo regularly for work and have stayed in many). The bed needs to be replaced - very soft and no support. The water pressure under the (very nice looking) rain shower was so low it was impossible to wash my hair. The lighting in the bathroom casts deep shadows on your face so applying makeup was really difficult. The hanging space was fine if you only had shirts and pants but much too short for a dress or long skirt. Under the (very nice) vanity hadn't been mopped properly, there were spiderwebs around light fittings, and mosquitos in the bathroom. A light switch had a big section chipped off its face plate. The air con system had a note on it saying it couldn't go below 22 because it would struggle too much (why didn't they purchase adequate air conditioners in a town that's regularly over 40 in summer? Other motels in town don't have that issue). There's no way to get fresh air as the exterior door that acts as a window had the 'handle' of its bolt removed so it can't be opened. Normally, I would have mentioned all this at checkout rather than on Trip Advisor but there was noone at reception to tell. It looks good, it's fine for a standard motel, but they need to get the important basics - good night's sleep and quality shower - sorted before it'll compete with other motels in that price range in Dubbo.

This is one of the best rural / regional hotels we have stayed in. It’s not your typical bush motel.

Our 3rd stay here. Great location, next to Orana Mall and away from the Dubbo CBD & main highways, with no through traffic or trucks. Large, well presented room, bistro next door at Pub. Accomodation cost includes breakfast and we were given a complimentary drink voucher each ( for use at Hotel next door ) at check in. Kids adventure playground nearby, next to Dubbo Botanical Gardens, an easy 5 minute walk. Plenty of off street parking and a pool.

On line booking process is simple & quick with no up front payment required, but credit card details needed to secure the booking. Pay on check in. Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful.

Highly recommend …. We have booked a family get together here in January to visit The Western Plains Zoo.

A comfortable overnight stay in town at the end of our three day visit to Dubbo to visit the Western Plains Zoo.

Our refurbished twin room was well appointed and had almost everything we needed for this brief visit (tissues would be a good addition) and although on a busy road, there was no noise into the room and we had a good night’s sleep.

I especially liked the great air conditioning (it was a 35+ degree day), modernised bathroom, the room decor with exposed brick walls, the two complimentary drink vouchers for the adjacent Macquarie Inn, and the 2 x complimentary bottles of water in the fridge.

I subscribed to Nightcap and received a 10% discount on this first stay which brought the rate down to $162. Good value considering the rate also included breakfast (basic, but appreciated, in the Macquarie Inn).

Great hotel. Very comfortable were the beds and pillows. Spacious and well appointed room. The rooms are refurbished so nicely. We were in a family style room near the pool.
Breakfast was way more than we expected. Toast, cereal, bacon eggs, mushrooms etc.
Very nice way to start the day. The pub is great for dinner after a long day out being a tourist. Highly recommend to stay here. Its quiet too and away from all the other motels in town just on the edge. Super easy to drive to all attractions.

My only criticism is the balconies need a clean. a quick sweep out would freshen up the outside area so your not breaking your foot on nuts from the tree or chicken bones we had on our balcony.

Booked ahead as a bigger group. Restaurant was at half capacity.
Ordered the surf n turf. Worst attempt I’ve seen. Went straight back to the counter with my milk “garlic cream” and cremated medium rare steak. They had ran out of bugs so replaced them with an extra mussel and small prawn?
I had watched the chef put the meal on the counter and not buzz us 5-10 minutes before somebody did buzz us to collect our meals.
They refunded me and re cooked my meal. It was still terrible overcooked but there was extra garlic flavoured milk. Never again!
The poor girl taking orders was lovely and did a great job not her fault. The bloke at the bar was equally friendly. Cheap nasty overpriced poorly prepared food.

Stayed in room 2 which was a pleasant, light, good sized room with comfortable beds, a small kitchenette and a good sized bathroom with good hot water pressure.
Some traffic noise entering the room. Shopping Center and Botanical gardens within walking distance but not city center.

However: paid for room with breakfast included. But received an "on the go
pack" with a packet of muesli, a small snackbar, a small fruit drink and a small long-life milk.
NOT exactly the continental breakfast we expected!
The excuse being covid-19. Weird because pub was open from lunchtime and serving drinks and food to patrons....
On our 5 night trip this was the only place where no effort was made regarding breakfast. In some of the other motels/hotels we stayed, a fully cooked breakfast incl hot drinks was delivered to our our room. Example: at Duntryleague Guesthouse/hotel Orange, where we were the only guests, at 8 in the morning the dining room was heated, toast was hot, croissants fresh from the oven and fruit juice as well as fresh fruit and big mugs of strong cappuccinos delivered to our table.
A Continental breakfast with NO shortcuts.

Sometimes covid-19 is being used as an excuse for poor service delivery, well it for sure was at this motel.
Will not return here

PS: The meal we ate in the pub was mediocre the least. Had schnitzels which were severely overcooked . Presentation was meh. Nicely cooked vegetables though.

Very disappointed as room we booked was unavailable (we didn’t find out till we actually got to our room) we arrived unpacked then realised none of the lights worked and there was a lack of powerpoints. We then had to move rooms and found the second room unclean. We were not informed of breakfast times and therefore missed the breakfast that we paid for (in room cost). We reduced our stay from 2 nights to 1. Very disappointed.

Although a short dry into the burbs of Dubbo, this is an excellent motel. The rooms are renovated and contemporary, with plenty of room and close facilities (e.g. petrol). The on-site public bar and restaurant are very spacious and the complimentary continental breakfast was as expected. I would recommend families or travellers staying here at any time. Good staff support and response throughout our stay.

Used to always stay here in the early 2000’s, but it slipped significantly, so stopped staying.

A friend recently recommended I try it again, and very glad we did.

Hotel is well located, off the 2 busy through roads in Dubbo, and appears to have undergone a significant refresh. Our Room ( 5 ) was excellent. ……plenty of room, great beds, very modern / clean and great bathroom facilities. We received a complimentary drink voucher each, on check in and Tarif included a very nice hot buffet breakfast. Tariff was very reasonable.

I also invited family from Dubbo, to join us for dinner in the Bistro. Excellent food and service. Our family confessed they had not been here for some years, but we’re very impressed and will be back again soon.

Great to be back at the Macquarie Inn and will stay here again when next visiting family in Dubbo…. Great that it has returned to its former glory days.

Dark gloomy room at end of dark gloomy path. ‘Courtyard’ looked over some old dumped appliances. Miserable room with terrible lighting. Cheapest possible teabags and sachets of cheap instant coffee, obligatory packet of crushed cheap biscuits. Cheap own brand toiletries. I mistakenly thought (judged by prices charged) that was going to be a classy hotel!!
