We had a lovely dinner at the restaurant.

The space is gorgeous - loved the modern barn feel with a fireplace, big barn doors and pendant lights.

Our party of 11 all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. They had both wood fired pizza and main meal options. All were generous serves. And they all came out at the same time, nice and hot, which can be a challenge for groups.

They were great with the kids with good food options, free ice cream dessert and an outdoor play area.

The staff were lovely. We let them know we were heading to the observatory afterwards (which is only 400m down the road) and they made sure our meals were complete in time. I hope locals and tourists support this new business - I would have been happy to pay more for such a great experience.

We didn't stay at the accommodation as it was booked out so I can't comment but I would look at it next time I'm in Dubbo.

From the moment we entered the little lobby we were welcomed by Sharen, She was so nice and made us feel right at home after a long roadtrip, she was really informative as well.
It was very exciting when we got to the tent, the tent was beautifully decorative and had a lux bathroom with a big heater too.
The tent was extremely cleaned, it also had a little mini fridge with some milk and tea and coffee also.
We decided to get breakfast each morning (it's a must, you won't be disappointed) I am so glad we did.
We were welcomed by Jo each morning, one of the nicest staff members I've ever met in hotels/hospitality industry, each morning she went above and beyond for us and it definitely made our mornings brighter.
She is the best asset to your team.
The zoo is less then 5 minutes from here.
The lodge itself is beautifully decorated, with really nice hanging lights and also a beautiful reception/confrence centre.
I can't wait to come back.
Thank you everyone!

My family and I stayed here and it was absolutely fantastic and beautiful. The tents were spacious and very clean. Two of the cleaners, Deborah and Candace I met were very nice, and they went over my expectations of servicing our tent. My children were over the moon seeing their beds made and with their little toys sitting all neatly on their pillows after we got back from the zoo.
Deborah and Candace are a great asset to your company

On our arrival we were warmly welcomed by Sharron who ensured we were well taken care of. The room was extremely clean and well arrange. Although it was cold, the room was fitted with a heater and several blankets. I’m addition the room was fitted with a tv, several electrical outlets, a modern bathroom, towels, shampoo, a refrigerator and much more. Both mornings of our stay we had breakfast at the lodge. Here we met Jo who went above and beyond. Jo went beyond her role and left us with a fantastic impression. She should be highly commended on her efforts and work ethic.
The lodge is a 5 minute trip from Dubbo Zoo and if you’re looking for a place to stay I highly recommend The Rhino Lodge.

We stayed recently for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We arrived in the evening and ate at the restaurant. Not a huge food/wine menu but what we stews delicious. we ordered a bottle red wine and after dinner sat in front of the wood fire and finished it. The staff were lovely. The tent was beautiful. They had turned on the heating for our arrival ( which was nice) Were cosy and warm, the bathroom is modern and fully stocked with toiletries. Thank you for a memorable weekend. Don't worry about being out f town, taxis and Uber operate.

Its NOT cheap.

Its Not comfortable.

Its Not Good Value.

Its Hot.

Its Pretend accommodation and Very quickly the Tent Concept wears OFF.
this is where the marketing Hype outstrips the reality of good accommodation, the staff are very poorly trained as they are from the local RSL - NOT trained in Hospitality. The attached Kitchen is great looking decor, BUT food is terrible.

As a local and been to most facilities in Dubbo, decided to give Dubbo Rino Lodge a go.
The only negative was the distance to travel for a meal, but that thought was soon changed upon arrival as the presentation from the exteriorr to the interior was a very pleasant surprise to say the least.
To say the staff were excellent was an under-statement as Joe and the entire team oozed a positive professional standard that would match the best any where. You do Dubbo proud.
Last but not least. Value for money, prepared and delivered in a timely order were the meals. Steaks cooked as requested, ribs ever so morish and salads fresh and crisp.
Considering that the venue was well patronised at the time, (anywhere up to 70 to 80 people) I expect that this business will be around for a long, long time.

Thank you for a wonderful stay. Very well presented and friendly staff. Great restaurant and the food was incredible. Great cocktail menu.

I could not recommend this place enough. Was so glad we came here. Close to the Dubbo Zoo.

Worth the money, may be a pricey but it doesn’t matter when the accommodation is prestigious and the staff are friendly, polite and go out if their way to make sure you have a great stay.

Thank you 🙏

Was visiting Dubbo for Christmas so booked Christmas day lunch here in advance. Upon arrival there were no staff to be seen, so walked around the restaurant until we found our name on a table. Figured out where to purchase drinks when we saw another patron carrying drinks from another room. Finally saw a staff member setting up a buffet. The meal was very disappointing and very average (a lot of it was what you cook/have at home)(standard roast veges/peas/potato salad/chicken and turkey pieces very dry). I was expecting it to be a bit more special considering we paid $130 per adult and $55 each for the 10 and 8 year old. Cheese platter buffet we had to find spoons to put in the dip to be able to serve some on our plate. No staff came to our table at all the whole time we were there.
Would not recommend.

My husband thought it would be a special experience to celebrate my daughter's and my birthday by going to Rhino lodge. He read the review and learned that there would be air con to warm up the tent in the winter, but didn't expect it to be so intolerable for us in the night.

The air con, the only heating device in the tent, was not able to warm up the tent, where the outside was 0 or -0.5 degree. And the back room, where my 4 year old daughter slept, was without any heating and the air from the air con wouldn't go in that area at all. We all wore our sweaters and wool socks, and added extra blankets but we still struggled through the night with very little sleep. The air-con set at 25 degree would pause every 40 minutes or so, and right away the chilly air came in and the temperature dropped. And after a while the air con would start again, making quite a loud noise as it was working very hard. This cycle went on for the whole night and we felt so miserable not being able to sleep. We tried to set the temperature lower around 21-23 degree to see whether the air would run without taking a break, but then it felt like a cooling fan blowing cold air.

My husband thought it would be nice to enjoy some view and animals passing by in the morning, but the thing was we couldn't open the tent window as the icy air would just come in. Therefore, we didn't get to enjoy any of the nature staying in the tent, but felt getting sick sleeping in such uncomfortable condition.

We were going to stay there for two nights, but end up packing and left the next early morning as we couldn't imagine going through that for another night. The management refunded us the second night, but suggested we should be prepared as we chose to do glamping in the winter. So I guess it's a lesson learned for us.
