I chose a deluxe queen room as I wanted to be in the house and not in the outer building. It is your classic country hotel which hasn’t been updated in decades but the bed was comfortable and the room clean. One thing we found weird was they can only supply one key per room and the front desk is only open 8-8pm so you have to ensure you go back together or work out were to leave a key. The pool is small and was closed even though the weather was quite warm. It is a 10 minute walk to the Main Street and we felt quite safe walking home at night. The lady at reception was very unfriendly which was odd as everyone else we met seemed to be very friendly. My blinds didn’t close properly, which if you are in Room 12, you have every one walking past. Would I stay very again - probably not, but I wouldn’t say don’t stay here. They do have free parking if you have a car.

Lovely venue, close to everything. Well priced. Clean with all you need in the way of amenities and very generous with consumables compared to other places we have stayed. New friendly owners gradually renewing maintenance issues that have been previously neglected. Comfy bed, great shower.

The price was good, however, the room is quite tired. There was no milk in the fridge, no teabags and no sugar. The shower recess is quite small and confines one to a corner to shower. It also drips. The floor gets quite wet as only a shower curtain. We found one power point doesn't work .All things that could be fixed
On the plus side it is nice and quiet at night and the bed was comfortable and the lady that helped us on arrival was friendly

This was a first time trip to Broken Hill, stayed at the Lodge Outback. Main building is a lovely old building with lots of character inside and outside. Our room was located in the main building, lovely old features and decorated to compliment the heritage look.
Everything was clean and working, some little areas of the bathroom were looking tired but otherwise good. Kettle, toaster and crockery supplied, only drawback was washing the dishes in the bathroom sink.
There are rows of rooms external to the main building, not sure what they are like.s

The hotel was ok although feels like it needs a facelift. Good location not far from town. Room was a bit dingy and the pool was closed even though it was hot weather. The woman at reception was very unfriendly and a bit rude. Possibly the only unfriendly person we met in Broken Hill all week.

Having booked and paid ahead we arrived to no one at reception but despite phoning three times to the number on the door no answer. I went for a walk and found a guest who said he knew where the receptionist was. Three minutes later she rang me. Our keys were under the mat to the room number she provided. Office hours clearly displayed show open from 8am to 7pm.

No manual for the room so a call to determine the wifi login and no we don't have information documented. No milk provided despite there being tea and coffee in the room. All up a lack of interest or respect for guests.

Insect repellent provided for all the flying insects and mosquitos in the room.

Fan control broken so unable to use it.

Pool advertised but cover on it. See photo
Laundry unavailable "out of service" see photo
Cups had lipstick stain on it and other cup stained - see photos.

Parking area drive had holes in it see photo.

Totally ripped off.

We called up last minute when we got to town, Mel answered straight away and was friendly and helpful. We got the room with a bath which was the best price we’d seen in town. The outside of the motel is beautiful and the rooms have an attention to detail which is normally hard to come by in your basic motel room. Even a bag of ground coffee and a French press left for us! Would recommend booking directly with the motel, it’s cheaper.
Would come back!

I booked The Lodge Outback Motel sight unseen. We were delighted. Housed in the main house on site we had a wonderfully big room and bathroom. Plunger coffee supplied and filtered water just outside the door. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Great country hospitality.

Thank you for a great break!!!

I booked one of the heritage rooms in the house. Fabulous bed and warm quilt. Hot shower. Clean and well presented. The management even allowed us to park our two motorcycles under the verandah as it was raining. I would book this place again, for the heritage room experience.

The room was very clean, and neat. Supplies of tea, coffee, biscuits were available. The newspapers were freely available. The bathroom was compact and well maintained.

The couple who cleaned and maintained the hotel appear to be committed to the job, and are certainly have a good PR manner for visitors.

Every convenience one would expect on a business trip was available. In addition it was no more than 10 minutes from my office location in the CBD.

On the downside, the AC made an odd noise in the middle of the night but continued to work perfectly. We were assured that this would be corrected the next time we visit.

We noted that the ownership had recently changed, and more improvements are expected in the near future.
