Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a sporting trip. I could not find anything negative to say, except that the dots make it a bit hard to see the parking spaces, a minor thing. The lady at check-in was nice, and very helpful. The rooms are small, as is the bathroom, but the water was hot with good pressure and the bed very comfortable. Everything was clean. There is a refrigerator, TV with many channels, a wardrobe to store your clothes. The lighting system is one of the best I’ve encountered, even in 5 star hotels. It is very conveniently located, within walking distance to clubs, pubs and the Main Street. It is also next to the railway station, but there was no train noise.

Planning a 2 day stop over so we did some research into location, to ensure we had a good central location for our stay in Broken Hill. We always look for location as well as Value for Money as this is important for any holiday. The motel is walking distance to the central CBD of Broken Hill, as well as plenty of great resturants or breakfast cafe to start the day with.

Room was on the large size which is good for a longer than overnight stay, very clean and the air-conditioner worked really good, which is a plus in the NSW Western parts of the state.

So the room ticked all boxes with Value for Money, Location and Clean.

As a Choice Rewards member given an upgrade to a family suite. Two bedrooms, large sitting/lounge area. Lots of room for 2 of us, and appreciated. Room/s very clean, newish carpet and all in good order. Towels are thick and fluffy. Position is excellent with easy walking to eateries and pubs/clubs and Main Street. Good Chinese restaurant on site. The negatives are: beds are very hard to the point of uncomfortable. There are no power points near the bed/s for medical devices to be plugged in. 1 point in bathroom, and other 2 in the lounge area, requiring a long extension cord to be used. No face washers or hand towels are provided. The bedroom facing the centre courtyard is very bright of a night. The blind is inadequate keeping out the security lighting of the car park/courtyard. Basic toiletries provided, but probably use your own. Cooking facilities consist of a small microwave, but a full complement of crockery and cutlery is provided. A few tweaks needed.

Ooof I do hate leaving bad reviews but there just wasn't really anything positive about this stay.

Lady at Check in was lovely but felt a bit rushed, it was here is your key, restaurant up top, park wherever, see you later. I had to ask about where our room actually was and how parking worked.

The parking is marked with dots instead of lines and is so hard to see at night and figure out if you have parked in the right space.

The room was small and VERY dated, the bathroom even tinier.
Now this may be first world problems but there was only one power point in the whole room. With 3 of us needing to charge phones and radios it was a little tricky.

The beds were terrible, one bed was as hard as a brick, my bed was so crappy it had no support & kept trying to roll me onto the floor all night, I was tempted to go ask for a new room.

I was surprised that this was the first place that had an actual mini bar, and prices were surprisingly cheap for a mini bar.

Bathroom was extremely dated and cramped, water pressure was ok but I had the shower on hot only to get it warm enough.

They do have a laundry available (1 x washer & dryer) which may have been the saving grace so we were able to get a load of washing done but there is no signage anywhere so you have to go looking for it.

There is a Chinese restaurant onsite and pubs a short walk away but we didn't try either of those so couldnt tell you if they were worth trying.

I think with other options available for accommodation I would try elsewhere before ever coming back here.

Room 19 is the perfect place to rest your head when you are spending the week working. It comes with an awesome metal staircase right out the door that people clunck up and down loudly on all day and night. Under the stairs is 2 fluro lights that keep the room well lit all night. All your neighbours can also use the communal bin with the noisy lid right outside your door. This is great at 5 30am and assists in your sleeping pleasure. The bed is hard as nails and the fridge makes dripping noises all night. The best part is when your neighbour uses the water in the bathroom. It gives you the full cultural experience of the sound of the mines collapsing. Get ready to sleep all night long in the most comfortable room in the town....room 19....ask for the quiet one under the stairs today!

We chose this long established motel as it was across the road from the railway station where we would travel on the NSW TrainLink Tuesdays only train towards Sydney, and were arriving on the same operator's twice weekly road coach from Adelaide. NSW TrainLink is the only surface transport offering local travel on these routes.

Both ladies at reception were pleasant but the Sunday night one told us Coles Supermarket was 'three blocks away'. We started to walk but it was far more than that.

The room key had a tendency to stick.

The motel has recently been repainted, including in its rooms and is clean.

However, the double bed was showing its age. I prefer Queen size. There was a top sheet that was a plus.

Aircon was reasonably quiet, but at night there was a hum from maybe a water heater.

Toiletries were small while a hairdryer was inside the bathroom cabinet.

Towels were standard white but we had to ask for hand towels from the capable, nice Aboriginal lady room attendant.

The in house Chinese restaurant was good but decir was from the 1970s.

The shower worked well but the bathroom was incredibly poky.

WiFi was slow.

No breakfast is presently offered. This is more COVID-19 paranoia. What does the owner think will happen?

Overall, this was a very average motel.

We stayed in the Executive Suite, which is really like 2 bedrooms and a living room, a larger family room.
The motel was clean and comfortable, we arrived at midnight and every thing was ready to go for us.
Helpful stuff, good location and easy access to the main street.

My room was so basic as to be sad. To call this hotel a Comfort hotel is not to understand comfort. I have seen better furniture in the charity shop. Even basic things like TV were terrible. Every channel broke up making watching one program impossible. There was no mini bar, there was no breakfast, beds with no duvet but a single acrylic blanket. There certainly was no luxury. Broken Hill is continually booked out as is this motel so there is no excuse for not offering a more attractive offering.

Hotel was fair for what it cost. Pretty standard for that part of the world. Will always be my first choice for trips out west due to proximity to restaurants and the CBD
Walking distance to a number of things which is handy. Car parking a little disappointing as it normally fills up by mid afternoon.

Stayed for a week, had to upgrade to the cottages as the other rooms are quite small.
The cottages are the way to go, very comfortable with separate bedrooms and a nice area to relax watching TV after a big day.
Multiple places to eat and charge back to your room so you are not stuck with 1 restaurant.
If your coming in by train, it is nearly straight across from the station, nothing to walk to, and very close to the city center
