I had a nice stay here for 3 nights. I arrived late at night but they had left a key for me so no issues there. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities, and there's a free guest laundry and pool. The housekeeping staff dropped by each morning to ask if I wanted the room cleaned or any towels replaced etc. The location was good too, quite central. My one complaint is that the wifi internet was unusable - it was too slow and frequently dropped out.

We booked a Corporate Deluxe Room.......wow is all I really have to say. No couch as advertised, 1 chair and a semi comfortable bed. The bathroom is somewhat camp like. The shower is reasonable with a shower curtain that likes to rub up against you .........🥺🥺.

Air conditioning workers well but is noisey. The fridge froze everything and the decor is bloody awful.

The parking is dreadful and the pool is a hole in the concrete.

Centrally located within easy walk of most things. Friendly Carly checked us in and was super nice and helpful throughout the stay. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious, and the bathroom was spotless. Kettle, toaster and microwave available with handy laundry on site. The recently repainted pool was welcome at the end of the hot day.
Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

Thanks Carly you are a gem!

This motel is a time warp ! We stayed in room ten . The carpet is thread bare at both the front door and bathroom door , covered by a cheap mat. The bathroom door did not open completely as it hits against the bed . The A/C was missing its front cover leaving the filters exposed , hardly hygienic. The ‘flat screen TV’ had a problem with streaks down the screen .

We are travelling through Vic ,SA,QLD and NSW for a couple of weeks and this is clearly the worst maintained motel we have stayed in and they are all around the same price of $160 to $180 a night. When we left in the morning ,as early as we could , we dropped our key in the key drop box which did not have a lock on it , you could understand why they do not need a key , who would want to get into the rooms ?
Never again there are much better options in town this establishment is a massive oversell on its internet listings , no where close to the real thing.

We were travelling home to Adelaide with a dog. From the moment we rang and enquired about pet friendly accomodation to booking in and out of this hotel it was done with ease and great customer service.
The room we had was clean, tidy, comfortable and well laid out.
The location was perfect and in easy walking distance to the main street where there were plenty of restaurants and take away shops to choose from. Also supermarkets in walking distance.
The lady in reception (sorry I don't remember her name) was very friendly and made us feel welcomed (including our dog).
If you are looking for pet friendly accomodation in Broken Hill, I would highly recommend Desert Sands Motor Inn.

If I hadn’t already paid I would of gone somewhere else. Rooms do not look like website, website states 4star AAA rating and newly refurbished rooms- I don’t think so!!! 3 adults walked into room walls dirty, lights didn’t work, the main light was dull and full of insects a separate room with 3 single beds no air conditioning so bed pulled into other room. Curtains broken, house keeping first day was the bins were emptied nothing else, tap ran continually unless you found the right spot to turn it off. The final morning the tap fell apart and you could tell it had been glued may times before. Mold on shower roof and rusted lights in bathroom. Wouldn’t stay there again.!

Book a room accdiently booked up stairs. Emailed property asking for a down stairs room. Reply was "all sorted ". We were willing to pay extra.
Husband cannot do stairs.
Arrived and found out we were up stairs. Manager said you paid for upstairs room and that's what you got. Said it was BOOKING.COM policy not to change rooms over.
Bathroom no exhaust fan. Very noisy light in bathroom. Air con Very noisy. Mattress has springs that made a noise every time we moved. My husband was in extreme agony all night having to climb the stairs.
When we arrived there was an inebriated man drinking CAN OF CAPTAIN MORGAN he threw $50 on the counter and said "this will fix it" "you can share my down stairs room, but I snore alot " if there had of been any other rooms available in Broken Hill we would of left.

Do not stay at this motel. Not only was the room not very clean when we arrived but it was not serviced!
I was told that I should have found the cleaner to tell her we were leaving the room!
The fridge froze the milk and our own bottle of wine.
The rude manager refused to give us any form of refund.

We booked our room on the basis of online photos advertising the motel. The room we booked had a queen bed and a couch. The room we were allocated had a queen bed, a single bed, no couch, and a chair with bent legs that was the only seat provided. The room was supposed to sleep three (judging by the beds) but there was only seating for one! The wifi was hopeless. You could not even open an email. Nothing worked - downloading, uploading, browsing … nothing. The bed was comfortable and the whole room was very clean but it was not what we booked. We were told that was what was available. Well, it was very, very disappointing. If you advertise a room with seating, you supply a room with seating. (And, thanks to the placement of the pool, actually getting a larger car out of the carpark requires a lot of effort.)

Ever so slightly off Main Street but easy walk into town, and encourages you to find hidden gems down off Main Street shops. Easy parking good size room and bathroom excellent shower powerful and plenty of hot water. Room clean paint needs a little love but no more than more expensive rooms I’ve stayed in. Quiet once birds nested which was early. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. If looking for good priced comfortable accommodation stay here. Bed was very clean and so comfortable. Would stay again was not disappointed. Great friendly check in and out
