We stopped here to camp for two nights during an outback road trip of Outback NSW with our kids and friends. After a few days camping in the bush with limited facilities it was a pleasure to arrive here to a soft, level grassy place for our tents, a clean, spacious and well equiped camp kitchen, much needed hot showers (and lots of them) and a laundry (which I was highly in need of!)
Although we couldn't have our own camp fire, plenty of wood was supplied for the community firepit which we sat around and enjoyed both nights. You do hear the traffic from the main road from the unpowered sites (the road trains mainly during the night) but we didn't really mind and it was a great location to access Broken Hill. When we couldn't be bothered to cook, we enjoyed the delicious pizzas from the restaurant round the campfire. The kids LOVED running around, and dancing to the jukebox music and playing in the open games rooms which kept them very warm during the very cold evenings! Worked really well for us all. Thank you.

We stopped here for one night in our campervan and had the most spectacular stay, we didn’t want to leave! To say it’s next to the highway it’s so peaceful and relaxing, especially in the evening sitting outside the bar under the stars. The showers each come with a sink so you can wash your face/ brush teeth privately. It’s a secluded resort which gives the feel of being in another world; however only a 15 minute drive to the town. The bar food is a tad pricey but there is a big kitchen to cook your own meals. I would stay here over and over again and have recommended it to friends!

Fantastic views and great modern room with spa but two nights out of three there was power issues over several hours. When I spoke to the owner he gave me some sob story about the backup generator not working and that electrician's on both days were trying to fix the problem but clearly not. After speaking with several people around broken Hill apparently it is well known for this problem. Yes there is mains power to the resort so there shouldn't be any problems. The owner certainly made sure that there was no power issues to the bar and restaurant at the resort where most people went and spent there money on overpriced drinks and food while waiting for the power to be restored to the rooms and powered camp sites. After complaining to the owner he would only give me a refund for one night. If you want great views of the hills and a good modern room without power 17/7 then this is the place for you. Also we were unable to use the WiFi in our room so if you wanted to use it you had to go to the camping area. I wouldn't recommend staying at this resort unless you are desperate.

We stayed here for a restful break coupled with sightseeing. Not having a caravan, we made a cabin our home and the amenities were great - clean and well serviced, private verandah which enjoyed the winter sun and a charming scrub view from the shower/spa.
Breakfast was part of the deal and there was a good choice of delicious meals - available in the restaurant anywhere between 7 & 10 (so sleeping in is definitely an option). Dinner was equally as enjoyable and on a pay as you go basis, so you weren’t tied down but had the convenience of staying in if desired. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The resort is not in town but with a short 10 minute drive it was easy to access all the sights of Broken Hill, Silverton and surrounds.
The resort is RV friendly and must be a good place to stay because it was full every night. Despite the number of people around, it was a quiet place especially once you were inside your room.
Sometimes you can hear traffic from the nearby road but it wasn’t an issue.
Internet service was not great but there if needed. It was a good opportunity to have a rest from internet based activities.
Overall a great place to stay.

We thought being an outback resort that we would have had A1 facilities, however we were somewhat disappointed. The young lass who booked us in was extremely friendly and helpful. She has only worked there a few weeks, but she is a real asset to this resort.
What we found disappointing as self contained caravan travellers was that this resort has NO dump point and no indication of where you can find one. There was one clothes line for dozens of caravans and many workers rooms. There were 2 washing machines and 2 dryers (1 of which was out of order.
I feel for the cleaning staff, as many guests leave the shower and toilet blocks dirty and don’t try to clean a little after themselves. You could employ full time cleaners to man that area. I found poo chunks on the floor and many people leave mud in the showers. Awful for the next person.

Dear N8805LJmarym Thank you for providing us with your feedback. We aim to continue to grow and improve our facilities and offering. As we are still a new property, we are trying our best to deal with the demand of the number of people using our facilities. Our cleaners work tirelessly to keep up with the growing demand during the holiday maker season and to ensure guests are safe at all times. The poo chunks are out of our control, however we can assure guests that our cleaners are making their rounds to ensure that the facilities are cleaned regularly, with appropriate checkpoints and registers. Safe travels The team at the Broken Hill Outback Resort.

The cabin was well appointed and had utensils for cooking, unfortunately there was only a microwave to cook with, so you had to use the camp kitchen. A small BBQ on the balcony would have been better. The WiFi didn’t reach the cabins so you had to walk into the camping area to get service, Also a little disappointing, for the money I would have expected better. Check before booking to ensure the electrical issue have been resolved. Power outages 5 days in a row was a little hard to take. Take those things away and the score would be a very good.

I’ve never ever written a bad review.
Well to start off with thought this place was amazing, cause of the views only and the quick easy check in, food was sub optimal both days we ate here, but if your from the city and wanting birthday celebrations best stay elsewhere. Sitting in the balcony quiet as talking to the wild goats and asking for the kangaroos to come visit, and a noise complaint, just got worse and worse when everyone in restaurant sang happy birthday.......what a disappointing end to a good weekend. Maybe it’s different in country life but i remember the gold old days celebrating my 26th birthday at the mulga tavern and everyone singing to me there. Even the bar staff and management joined in. If your willing to stay here be as quiet as a mouse cause at 4pm talking to the goats seriously getting a noise complaint then not being able to sing happy birthday when everyone in the restaurant joins in except two people and getting told to stop it by the manager, it is also a long way out of town so if you want a drink you have to drink at the restaurant which has live entertainment on Sunday advertised which everyone thinks is a band but it’s the broken hill camels taking kids around the car park, much better to go to Silverton camel park with petah and Duncan for a full trek through the outback.

We stayed about 4 nights. The room was well appointed with spa and individual balcony views. We ran out of soap on the first night. No replacement was forthcoming. I asked for more soap and was told there was none and it would be replaced with body wash. Wrong. It was replaced with body lotion which is no substitute for soap. The rooms were very poorly cleaned and the bed was never made on any day. It was if no one had bothered to do anything in the room as far as servicing. The bathroom was not mopped or vacuumed. The floor was mildly unclean on one morning and when we got back in the evening, what was there on the floor in the morning was still there. Most unhygienic. We did not get any new towels or linen during the entire stay, and nothing was replaced eg, biscuits coffee, soap, shampoo or conditioner. For the cost of $200 dollars per night plus incredibly an extra charge for using a card, I expected a whole lot better service and respect. The staff in the main office were as helpful as could be but the room cleaners were rude and incompetent. They made the stay very much devalued. There was a very loud generator right in your face but luckily it was stopped each evening at 10pm. The place is 10klms out of town and the entry driveway is poorly lit and hard to find, especially on a dark Highway. Conclusion: The room service needs to improve, the beds made daily, complementary soaps and products replenished daily, the towels replaced daily and cleaners removed altogether and replaced with competent staff who want the very best for their customers

Dear N51731Yrobl, Thank you for taking the time to write your review about your recent stay. We can completely understand your frustration and we have raised these issues with the owner to ensure that these areas are fixed immediately. We are re-evaluating our housekeeping team as this is an area we can certainly improve and we will ensure that we take onboard your suggestion. We are, like all other regional hospitality providers, are struggling with staff shortages, but still absolutely no excuse for making your stay uncomfortable and leaving you disappointed. We are very sorry your stay did not meet expectations, and we would like to offer you an option to stay with us again with the chance to make your stay much better. Kind regards Janine

Checked in and room had not been well cleaned (spa not wiped, ring marks on tables from drinks, lounge sticky). Internet wasn't working and there's almost no phone coverage this far from town. No privacy in bathroom if kids venture out back as window has no coverings. We could hear everything from neighbours and on second day a large group with kids moved into adjoining rooms. Kids running on the common front veranda makes a hell of a racket. We checked out early and despite giving a days notice were charged an extra night (they said we missed the cut-off time by a couple of hours). Sent 3 emails to owner about our concerns and he didn't even have the decency to respond. You might be real lucky and have very quiet neighbours and no kids but I wouldn't risk it. We'd never stay here again.
