Stayed 3 nights while playing in a Hockey tournament. The central location is close to the hockey fields and is a 200m walk from the town centre ... so it is very convenient. Check-in is easy (located on the first floor) and access in and out simple. Parking is on the street or out the back and doesn't seem to be a drama ... even for my big Land Cruiser. The pub rooms are not huge but have been painted and renovated and the bed was super comfortable and everything is spotlessly clean. Each room has free WiFi, a TV and a wardrobe arrangement with hanging space. There are plenty of shared bathrooms and toilets ... these are also newly renovated and kept very clean. Good pub restaurant downstairs with the usual pub fare done well. I have stayed in just about every hotel in Bathurst over the years and the Victoria is up there with the best stays - I'd definitely stay there again if traveling alone. Great staff and friendly atmosphere. Can't fault the place. Might be noisy (I'm deaf so no problem for me)!

Just fabulous! Clean, bright, quirky and comfortable stay at the Victoria on our way to Elvis Festival in Parkes. I stayed in the room with a private bathroom but their were ample shared bathrooms for the other rooms. They were brand new and looked very swish. Each room had its own fridge with iced water in and a water cooler in range for top up plus ample tea and coffee

Bed was huge and comfortable! Air con in room was a must have, i would keep it on on its eco setting as it got stuffy without it overnight.

We ate in the pub, in the beer garden and it was delicious. Would come back anytime i am in the area!

The next day we got coffee from the very rustic coffee shop behind the vic. Bathurst you are too cool for school!

The Victoria is a very nice country pub. Clean, cosy with friendly staff. I booked a one night, one adult stay at short notice (morning of).
My only gripe was the actual room I got was very small with one small window too high to look out. The ceiling was very high which made the room seem smaller. Having no pictures at all on the walls made the room, dare I say it feel like a cell. Nothing like any of the pictures used in trip advisor.
The shared bathroom was modern and very well kept. I was surprised at the room I was given as I was told there was only one other customer on my floor. Maybe I should have immediately asked for a nicer room? My bad.
But otherwise I had a fine experience.

We booked the Victoria after a write up in Traveller magazine.

On the plus side: the rooms have been recently renovated. They are splashed with bright colours. The corridors and rooms have a great selection of artworks, most of which seems to have been done by local artists. The larger family room with an ensuite is quite spacious. The location is good, near some good cafes / the historic area of town and easy walking distance to the main part of town. $140 was pretty good value for the family room I booked.

On the not so great: I was travelling with a friend and we booked two rooms. I didn't realise on their booking system the number of people in the room auto defaults to the maximum capacity of the room and so our booking was showing as 3 people in my room. This meant the staff had organised to make up the sofa bed in my room. Upon realising there was only one person staying in my room the staff member was pretty short with me. I may have simply got her at a bad time as once at the hotel every one that we spoke to was very friendly.

The larger rooms on the outside of the building face onto main roads and being older the windows aren't particularly sound proof so you will hear every car and truck that drives past. The smaller room my friend stayed in looked into an internal corridor which housed all of the air-conditioning units for the hotel which he could hear during the night. The beer garden is also a very popular venue and on a Saturday night has a DJ until quite late which my friend could hear from his room. If you are a light sleeper I would definitely recommend checking with them if there are any rooms which are quieter. I note that my overall rating is influenced by the fact that I'm a light sleeper. If I wasn't I would probably have rated it a 4.

Another point to note is that a lot of the rooms have shared bathrooms. This may not be an issue for some people (it wasn't for my friend). These rooms are cheaper to reflect this and the shared bathrooms have all been renovated and are each a single room rather than cubicles in a larger room so you will have it to yourself.

Thank you Cathy for giving such an in depth review and insight for our other guests. Our accommodation is usually very quiet, with Christmas parties in December making it nosier than usual. Glad you liked the art and design of the Hotel. Thanks again, Meg

Very good value for a pub stay in Bathurst. We stayed in the room with an en-suite - comfortable bed, hot water, relatively quiet, all you need for an overnight. Check out who’s playing in the performance space when you are staying: could be worth booking!

Great vibes at The Vic! So great to see colour & fun art on the walls, drink from a great selection of beers downstairs, and dine while watching a live show - all at the same place. Usually I'd prefer to wander and explore a new town, but having everything under the one roof made my first night easy and relaxing. Great price, location & owners - service with a capital S!

Perfect location if you're travelling by train or CountryLink bus and just need a "half-way' spot for a break (Sydney to Parkes). Superb value, cosy, minimilist "pub-style" rooms for the solo traveller. Spotless shared bathrooms. Friendly staff and good food.

My mate and I had a great one night stay, we had ridden from Newcastle on motorbikes on a hot day and the aircon was on for our arrival! The single rooms we each had were great and the bed comfy. The shared bathrooms looked brand new, and there were lots of them. We partook of the 3 hour happy hour in the pub, and had a great meal in the bistro. Our bikes were able to be parked off-street at the back of the pub - it is first in best dressed however. We will be back and recommend highly to people going through on bike trips.

We usually stay in more luxurious places but wanted to spend a night in Bathurst prior to going to Orange. We booked the family room with ensuite and it was pretty good value for money. Despite being above a pub it was quiet, pretty clean, shower worked fine, bed was OK. It's not luxury, but then the prices aren't priced that way either. It did feel a bit like a boarding house though as many people staying there had shared bathroom. Location was excellent near the shops and restaurants and there are some good restaurants in Bathurst. Not sure that I would stay here again but was perfectly fine for a night.

I had a lovely 3 night stay at the Victoria Hotel. My adult siblings and I shared the family room and it was perfect for our needs. The beds were very comfortable, the room and shared bathroom facilities were extremely clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Having grown up in Bathurst it was the perfect location for our visit to family. I would choose to stay here again and will recommend to others looking for a conviennent, comfortable, and well equipped pub room

I work at one of the top hotels in my city and was very impressed with all aspects of the property.
