Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The showground is amazing with many intact heritage buildings and staff are very helpful. However, there were a few things not mentioned on their website. You are not allowed to put your grey water on the ground (fair enough) or in the toilets (Nor are you allowed to put your black water in the toilet). That leaves the dump points. Unfortunately the DP near the camping sites is not working. The other DP is on the other side of the site, where there was a horse Gymkhana on the site and it was also not working, which limits your stay to a few days max. Either this should be mentioned on their website so you can decide not to come or a discount given.

The Bathurst Showground is sorry you experienced difficulty with the grey water/dump point. Unfortunately we had a major water leak and had to shut off this area which included the dump point. This was an unforeseen and rare occurrence and it is regrettable that you were inconvenienced. We are pleased you appreciated the heritage buildings and hope you will visit again.

The staff on duty were friendly and helpful and had booked us a camp area where we were shaded as we were late arriving. They warned us about the main road running past the grounds and were right as to just how noisy it was. The trucks using air brakes through the night was frustrating but we enjoyed our brief stay and the facilities were kept clean and tidy. The showground's main building is architecturally beautiful.

Convenient location to stop off if one wishes to drive the Bridle Track to Hill End without your caravan in tow. We stayed one night and left our caravan “stored” for the night we would camp on the track. The campground is quite large, has hot showers and plenty of toilets. Good Telstra reception. It is just across the road from the Tourist Info and coffee shop.

Terrible, dump site closed, you have to drive 3km down the road to empty cassette. Grey water needs to be collected and disposed of
Problems with water at the moment. Council unable to fix. And they still want to charge $30 a night

We are sorry you did not enjoy your experience at the Bathurst Showground. Unfortunately we were experiencing a major water leak at the time and had to shut off the water to the dump point. Grey water now needs to be collected at a number of sites in NSW due to environmental concerns and is enforced by our local council.

Our site was large, close to toilets and showers (which were clean) Easy access power and water. Chris , the Manager was fantastic and very helpful. Only criticism was that they more than doubled the site fee because of the Elton John concert

We stayed here for 6 nights as we were running a motorsport event close by.
The grassy site was quite large, the toilets were very clean and the showgound itself was well maintained.
The only down fall with this park was the dump point was a good 400 metres right over the other side of the main arena where there was only 1 or 2 vans. But this was only a small thing as I have a ute and could put the tank on the tail gate and transport it.
All in all it was a good stay and recommend it.

Stayed 5 nights and very satisfied. Amenities spotless and plenty of hot water. Caretaker very friendly and when a storm was coming opened pavillion so cars could be safe. Easy walk into town...close to Woolworths and Coles. Definitely recommend.

Receptionist was a calm and down-to-earth guy. We thought the campground is sort of an unique place since it's next to the horse-racetracks. Apart from that, it is not a place that is to be compared to the atmosphere you get at a holiday park. Amenities were alright. All things considered; great stay close to/ in the city center of Bathurst.

My wife & I are travelling around Australia in a motorhome and decided to stay at the showground for 4 nights. The park only had 10 vans parked which was only a fraction of it's capacity. We were instructed to park next to a road which was the pathway to a pavilion which held an Art's & Craft fair and an Auction House which meant we had in excess of 200 cars passing our motorhome during the weekend which continually covered our motorhome with dust. I asked the park manager if we could move to another less intrusive area of the park, however the manager was not interested in allowing us to move. We had paid in advance so was unable to get a refund as the manager had left for the weekend and no one was based in the office. Please do not stay here, it is terrible!

It is all grass areas so you would be able to pitch a tent and there is also a toilet block with showers as well. If you decide to go here, when you drive in you will see a sign with a phone number, give it a call and the groundskeeper will drive over and meet you in a golf cart. I have stayed a few times and it is fairly quiet and a lot cheaper in price than some caravan parks.
