My wife & I stayed at The Esplanade, Batemans Bay, NSW for four nights in November 2023. The staff that we encountered were very helpful and friendly which always makes for a great experience. The room we stayed in (108) was large, comfortable and very well maintained and had magnificent views out to the river and beyond. The Esplanade is located just across the road from The Batemans Bay Soldiers Club which is very convenient, and an easy stroll to all of the main shopping areas of Batemans Bay. If passing through Batemans Bay overnight or staying for a few days - I would recommend that you consider this motel for your stopover. (the attached pic was taken from the balcony of our room)

We decided to pay the extra for a higher floor water view room and were rewarded with a late afternoon glass of wine with some local seafood snacks on the balcony overlooking the bay. The room was fresh, clean and very comfortable. It also addressed one of my pet peeves in that the bathroom was large and has a basin set into a generous vanity unit with shelving which means that you have somewhere to put your clothes or pyjamas without them getting wet. The lovely club facilities across the road are a bonus.

We always have 1 night here prior to an overseas Trip . We booked the Deluxe Ocean View Suite as it has the an all around Balcony and is very Spacious . We were last in this Suite just before last Christmas and the shortcomings I pointed out in that review are still outstanding . The Room was still as comfortable as ever and we had a very enjoyable stay . We had Breakfast in our Room the next Morning . Mostly the Breakfast was fine except for the Tomato on my Wife's Plate was "off" and was Horrible . We let Reception know about it on Checking out . Despite this , we will definitely be back

Customer service lacking. Peter at front desk was unwelcoming..it all seemed too hard!! He was quite intrusive the following morning and intent on cleaning balconies above despite the fact they had not been occupied .. it was also before check out time so clearly could have waited! Note … Balconies and views are nice but not at all private - we were celebrating a special occasion and so when we were joined by Peter cleaning balconies it was not ideal Furthermore if staying throughout a busy period on level 1 you would also not have any privacy from balconies above .. if staying in an executive suite you maybe disappointed. The rooms are nice but have minimal lighting. The coffee /tea are not as advertised - standard tea bags and only 2 coffee sachets !! The water view is the hero - the rest is subpar!…

Nice, conveniently located motel. Service was personal, helpful and friendly. Definitely not a four star accommodation and if road noise bothers you, you'll need to upgrade to the water side of the facility. But we were on the road side and had no difficulty sleeping. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

The hotel decor is pretty and it is fairly new. Everything was clean. The receptionist was friendly. The sheets were a bit stiff and scratchy and the A/C unit was located over the bed so we ended up with stuffy noses with the air blowing directly on us all night. Cheap toilet paper. No where to smoke so you must leave the hotel. We read that walking to bars and pubs was great, but nothing was open on the Monday we were there. The three restaurants that were open stated open til late, but late is between 6 and 8 pm. Ebb and Flow that is connected to the hotel closed as I was looking at the window menu. No pubs were open past 8 either. We ended up with dominoes pizza.

Who knew a motel could be so good? Great views from the waterfront rooms. Newly renovated and they have thought of everything! Great beds. Top notch bathroom. Furnishings are nice and the balcony overlooks the bay with your own table and chairs. Coffee station is well equipped. Really nice property in a great location.

We booked the Deluxe Ocean View Suite to start our Holiday before flying to Sydney . The Room has just been renovated again . However this room used to have a 3 corner Spa which was removed years ago when the whole Hotel was renovated ( see my previous review after this renovation) I enquired if a Spa had been refitted but sadly not . I was informed that Spa Baths were to difficult to keep clean . I think this a poor excuse . We stay at lot's of places that have Spa Baths in the Rooms and the Spa's are always spotless ! The room was Clean , modern and the Blackout Drapes worked a treat . The Fridge was an improvement on the Fridge that used to be in the Room . One of those useless Green Fridges where you can't make Ice or even chill drinks to a decent temperature . This one actually worked a treat . The Carpet was a much nicer design . The Dining Table with 2 chairs was perfect and the lounge was very comfortable . The Bathroom was spacious as was the Bath Tub . However the Toilet Lacked Privacy as the Frosted Glass Door does not close and leaves a gap of around 2 Cm . The Head board for the Bed has not Changed and is showing it's age . The Right side (the River side} Bedside Lamp is visibly Crooked and needs correcting . All rooms have been repainted but there are areas of Skirting that have been missed also the most obvious is the Door to the Room inside has not been painted and stands out as it it has a few scratches and is a different color to the rest . A few points that did disappoint . No Compendium so no information . Only a couple of Sugar Sachets . Only 1 pack of Biscuits . I think this is penny pinching . This is a Premium Room and needs to live up to it's Price Tag . All of this , however did not detract from our enjoyment of the room ,and the wonderful views of the Bay .…

Constantly woken be traffic noise all hours of the night through to the morning.... barely slept, it's not a quiet place if you want to sleep and wake up refreshed. l requested another room but was told none were available. They say that they have double glazing but it doesn't work or it's not quality sound proofing. Esplanade Batemans Bay management you need to tell travellers how noisy your rooms are. Not a good experience..... l do not recommend staying here.
