Due to a big power outage caused by a fallen Tree we had to get a Motel for the Night . Unable to get into our favourite Motel we chose Beach Drive as it was walking distance to Restaurants etc. We welcome by reception and asked if they had a room for the night as we had no Power at Home . They were very friendly and said they did have rooms and they would give us a Queen room. This all sounded positive . On arriving in our Room we were greeted with a very small room that had a small double bed and a single bed. The Double had one side pushed against the wall , meaning you had to climb across the bed to get in it . We did a bit of moving of the Beds so my Wife didn't have to climb over to get into Bed . The Bathroom had a shower cubicle , Toilet and washbasin with a small cupboard . What was really noticeable was the Smell of Damp . This really became apparent when we used the Shower ,Toilet or the wash basin as Water appeared from nowhere on the floor . The Curtains were very Ill fitting and were roughly cut around the Window frames and the Window fitted Air Conditioner . There were several cracks in the Walls and the whole place could do with a complete overhaul . We found the Bed to be quite hard and Lumpy . Glad we only had to stay the one night.…
We were travelling through the area and needed a place to stay for the night, so stopped in and asked if we could get a ground floor room. The motel is close to the water and amenities we needed for our stay. We later wished we'd kept going and found somewhere else to stay. The shower was filthy and tiles were really grubby, like they needed years of grime scrubbed off them. There was dirty marks all over the carpet and a terrible odour throughout the whole room. The curtains were also very old and ripped. Sections of mould on the ceiling. The wifi was slow. The whole place just felt neglected and needed a lot of maintenance. For the condition of this particular room, it was way overpriced and not worth the money.
Old property and we paid extra for the "refurbished room". It had extra floor space. OK, this motel is old however no excuse not to clean. Everything was dirty and the water pressure was terrible. Yes, it was cheap but really I would not have stayed if I had looked at the room first. before paying.
Kind friendly staff.very well looked after especially in these crazy times. Nothing was a problem. Her's to good old fashioned happy hospitality W care. Please keep kind and look after each other and stay safe. Christopher Manager. Kindest soul. The world needs more patience and care.great location. Great Thai restaurant next door and fish n chips
I booked at last minute and arrived at 6.30 pm so finding another room would have been difficult. I stay at a lot of motels and being modern is not a big thing but cleanliness is. Mould on every wall and door in bathroom. Curtains stained from where guests touch to open and close, ceiling water damaged. Dust was hanging off brick walls. It was just a standard room but I thought that didn't mean in regards to how clean it was. On a positive note, staff were friendly, bed was comfortable & sheets were clean -unlike anything else.
