Detailed Reviews
On line booking was a breeze, prices were reasonable for a central motel and check in was easy. Friendly service for the stay in a motel that is literally in the middle of town. The good news is all rooms are accessed from the courtyard so there is no noise at night. The bonus is that there is direct access to the Commercial Club next door through a back swing gate. The room has obviously been renovated and the bathroom was clean and well laid out. Comfortable bed and an adjoining cafe that serves coffee and breakfast. We would stay again.

Booked direct by phone on day required. This was quick and easy. Greeting on arrival was friendly and helpful.
The Commodore Motor Inn is located close to shopping, eateries and adjoining gate into the Commercial Club which was convenient for dinner.
Room was very comfortable and appeared to have been recently renovated.
I think the room Reno was still in progress as there was nothing to sit luggage on.
For older travellers it’s not great accessing luggage on the floor.
The room was quiet but the town hall clock last chime was around 10pm and commenced around 7am.
The adjoining cafe is convenient and friendly for picking up breakfast.

Nice motel in an excellent location. Clean large rooms with tea/coffee facilities and basic toiletries. Friendly staff. Walking distance to shops, hotels and restaurants. Room hint ... request a room on the reception side. The other side is a service lane and we were woken several time by garbage truck and street sweeper noises.

We had two nights at this motel and found it met our needs very well. Firstly, its location is excellent, right next to Dean St with its shops, pubs and restaurants. A Coles supermarket was also within walking distance. Service was excellent; we were told of the carpark situation, with an ancillary carpark just next door if all the spots outside the rooms were taken. There was bottled water and extra milk available freely from a fridge in the office. The motel looks a bit tired but our room was freshly painted and of a reasonable size with a queen and a single bed. A comfortable chair would have been a nice addition. And, a bane of mine, one of those awkward mini ironing boards. On the other hand, wifi reception excellent, and water pressure and hot water good.

I was pleasantly surprised when I phoned to reserve a room for an overnight stay in order to attend my brothers funeral. Mark was the person on duty and due to the circumstance of my reservation he offered me a discount which was greatly appreciated. Later in the evening, we enquired about directions to the venue for his Wake. The lady on duty was also extremely helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Motel to any person.

What a terrible experience. Before I booked I rang to advise I was travelling with an 82 and an 84 year old - one of them disabled requiring a walking frame. I advised I needed a car spot in front of one of our rooms on the ground floor and was promised we would have this. It was a lie. There are 40 rooms but only 23 car spots. When my 82 year old aunt went to reception to ask why we didn't have at least one spot she came back almost in tears as he was so rude to her. I then went to speak to him and his response was and I quote him verbatim "you can take your money and get out". I asked if he was the manager and he said yes he was the owner. It was an awful experience and very difficult constantly having to move the car to the street after trying to get her out and helping her up a step and through parked cars. We had paid for three rooms for four nights and we weren't entitled to one car spot. Do not stay here you have been warned.

Recently stayed a couple of nights at the Commodore and was very happy with the service and room. Friendly staff and the room had recently been re-furbished and was top quality - clean, modern bathroom, kitchenette area with coffe maker, water jug, microwave and good size fridge, plus comfortable bed and good furniture. Great location for cafes, restaurants and CBD, Commercial Club just around the corner as well. Would definitely recommend, thank you.

Very nice motel, all the features you would expect at this price point. Very fast check in with lovely staff. Park at the door and walk to plenty of restaurants. Refurbished rooms are comfortable with quality manchester.

Room was old and tired. Bathroom was terrible. Both need serious renovations. Reception was very poor not at all friendly. TV was the smallest I have ever seen and the sound was scratchy. The one good thing was the bed was very comfortable. Definitely would not reccommend.

Dear Customer Care,
We have been pleased with your service and the Golden Chain Hotel/Motel group until we stayed at: “ THE MOTEL FROM HELL”.
Unfortunately the title we have given to the Commodore Motel, you sign off as a “3 and a half stars motel”??????
We stayed there overnight in a Standard Queen Room on the 20th June 2012.
These were the problems we encountered.
1. No net curtain on the window, ( So the room remained in darkness with blinds drawn in daytime).
2. No Hand towels available, fresh supplies collected at reception.
3. No new toilet rolls, old almost finished one remained in situ.
4. No clean water glasses , only two dirty blue plastic goblets available.
5. No wine glasses, only small beer glasses available.
6. Mold behind bathroom sink with the cold tap hammering when used.
7. Mold in the tiny dirty shower.
8. Dirty bathroom floor with no exhaust fan available.
9. Toaster available with no plates or knives available.
We await your comments,
Yours sincerely, David & Sheila Harwood.
