Detailed Reviews
As Accor members, we generally choose their hotels to stay in but I kind of wish I’d chosen a better hotel for the price I paid.
Room was tired and dull. About the only 4/5 standard thing was the bed and pillows - both amazing. Water pressure was poor, no extractor fan in toilet and room was very small.
Pool is shaded for most of the day so was freezing cold and not enjoyable and you have to walk through restaurant to access.
We included a buffet breakfast in our deal and we were disappointed with lack of choice and quality. The buffet included an empty plate of croissants, a plate with 1 danish, a plate with a few limp pieces of watermelon and orange quarters, a bowl of tinned peaches and pears, a bowl of plain yogurt and two cereals. Both the apple and orange juice were almost empty at 8am and not refilled either. There is no hot food with the buffet. Their hot food consists of limited choice items and you’re allowed to order one item. This is not my idea of a buffet breakfast! Food arrived lukewarm and undercooked and portions were rather small. Service was quite slow too. The waitress thought it was more important to clear the plates of another table than serve us. Given the restaurant was a quarter full, surely already seated guests come before clearing up?
The reception staff were lovely and attentive and made us feel very welcome. Both checkin and checkout were smooth processes.
There’s free onsite parking and their wifi works very well
To be honest, I don’t think I’d return for the price I paid, and if I did I would definitely not include breakfast.

Dear BeccLoader, Thank you so much for taking the time to provide our team with feedback. We are actually about to re brand and change our entire restaurant offerings, to ensure that we are providing to our valued guests not just at expectation but above. RE a breakfast buffet. Please allow me to sincerely apologize, Our breakfast buffet is continental only. This should have been communicated on check in and please rest assured I have followed up with the entire team. We are currently in the process of upgrading our rooms. 4th floor and 1st floor have been refurbished, and will will be commencing on level 2 and 3 later in the year. It is most posiitve to read about the comfort found in the beds however. I couldn't agree more. Being the site manager, it assures me a pleasant sleep each and every time! It's wonderful to read that our lovely ladies on reception made your feel welcome with their warm and sunny attitudes. BeccLoader, I personally hope to welcome you back to our home again and our newly re branded restaurant - FABRIC Restaurant and Bar, for a more memorable and flavorsome stay. Wishing you only the best of future travels. Warm regards, Meggan Gardner General Manager Mercure Albury Family

My family were in Batemans Bay for a beach holiday and woke on NYE to the bushfire emergency. We were in a relatively safe place, but with no power, not much food, no comms it was an anxious time. For two days we waited for the highway to open. Finally we left at 3.30 am on January 2. North to Wollongong, across to the the Hume to make our way home to Melbourne. We called the Albury Mercure. Booked a room, and what a stroke of luck that was. Meggan welcomed us like old friends. We settled in and went straight to the pool, relaxed, took a breath, had a G&T, while the kids enjoyed the pool.
We commend the Mercure for not raising the rates to capitalise on the influx of travellers escaping the bushfires, as I heard some of their competitors did. I will highly recommend the hotel, and will definitely be back. Thank you Meggan, you really created a haven for us on our way home.

The Mercure was a very comfortable hotel to stay at. The room had great blackout curtains, good water pressure and there wasn’t much noise from other rooms. It is an easy walk to pubs, restaurants and cafes. There is free onsite parking, friendly service, we would stay here again.

I stayed the 1 night and flying into Albury on the night flight got me in after 8pm, check-in was easy & quick with the ability to order the included breakfast.
The lifts felt like the proverbial "express elevators to hell" with a plummet after leaving ground floor.
The room itself was spacious, clean with a comfortable bed, but dated & with minimal effort could be spruced up. The bathroom however was in need of attention, the basin was cracked & lighting was poor.
None of the above were dealbreakers, but for the tariff, I expected more.

Dear tudors327, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us at Mercure Albury. So delighted to read that we were able to assist in an easy check in and order of breakfast. Gosh - our lift. That is indeed a description there. We are operating with an old style Rolls Royce lift, yet I can assure you and all our valued guests that OTIS keeps our lift in top form. Ahhh we love our 26sqm rooms. Some of the largest in Albury outside of Apartment style. I would love to look into your room in question so we can inspect the bathroom? Would you be happy to reach out to us so we can get fixed? Our 3rd floor is the last to finish its renovations. We will be removing some beside tables and placing our TV's on wall mounts to spruce a little more:) With many options to choose in Albury, Mercure Hotel and FABRIC Restaurant and Bar prides itself in it warm, genuine hospitality and that feeling of a home away from home. If you were after the latest build in Albury, we recommend our sister property Mantra, smaller rooms yet newer build. All the best with your future travels and thank you again for taking the time to review your stay. Be well keep safe. Warm regards, Meggan Gardner General Manager Mercure Albury/ FABRIC Restaurant and Bar

This hotel is located in a good central location, in walking distance to a shopping complex with Myer and other outlets. Room was clean. Water in the shower was warm but not hot. All showers I had I only turned the hot water tap on and could stand under the water without being burnt.

Having read the reviews dating back to mid July 2020 one would very sceptical about booking Mercure.
But we had a lovely stay and congratulations to management and staff for providing us with a very enjoyable and comfortable stay.
We stayed in a king room on thme 2nd floor.
My partner and l loved the comfortable bed and we ate in Fabric restaurant twice.
Dinner was good quality, breakfast was also excellent, and our waiter Vishnu was outstanding.
His attention to detail was above and beyond both times we dined in the restaurant.
Full credit to everyone at Mercure Albury...keep up the great work...

We stayed here for three nights and found it to be a very comfortable and with a friendly feel. We found all the staff very friendly and we were warmly welcomed by Adrian, the General Manager, and had great service from Vishnu and the team in the restaurant. The room was very clean and of a good size and we had a very pleasant experience at the hotel. Breakfasts and the meal we had in the restaurant were very tasty and well prepared and presented. The hotel was within easy walking distance to the main shopping area and most of the Albury CBD restaurants. Also easy walking to the Murray Art Museum and the Library Museum. The location was very quiet and ample free parking was provided on the site. I would recommend the hotel as a good location for visiting Albury

Not the best motel. Wouldn’t stay there again. So many things that make me rate this motel poorly.
• Glass on the coffee table was’nt secure.
• phone on the wall is a cheap light piece of black plastic that doesn’t even work so you can’t call room service.
• Walls are thin! We could even hear a man in another room having a shower & clearing out his nose.
• Noisy old elevator
• The shower is in the spa bath…. Ewww!
• tiny bit of shower screen so a lot of the shower water goes on the bathroom floor and the floor drainage is terrible
• Main light in the bathroom doesn’t work and out of the 2 mirror lights, only 1 worked. So 1 mirror light for the whole bathroom.
• poor bathroom ventilation
• TV in the bedroom area constantly glitches so you can’t watch anything!
• The grout around the spa is gross
• “Breakfast included” means only continental breakfast. You pay extra for a hot breakfast or decent coffee.
• Mini bar snacks included 1 chocolate bar & 1 pkt chips?? Bit useless when there’s 2 of you??
• Toiletries - A complimentary sanitary bag is provided, shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap & lotion are in pump bottles. A complimentary shower cap would have been useful, as would a box of tissues.
The positives about the motel
• Good blockout curtains
• Comfortable bed
• Staff in the restaurant were very nice and welcoming and provided great service.

We have stayed 43 nights at Accor properties in 2022 and the Mercure Albury was the worst. They harassed me two days before arrival for payment and tried to intimidate me into paying before we arrived. We have an Accor Plus Platinum membership which we pay for and are supposed to get certain benefits but this place doesn't seem to recognize that. Included breakfast is one benefit but charged us $5.50 for a coffee. when I questioned why we had to pay for coffee given our membership covered breakfast the woman at reception became quite defensive and said that other properties that included coffee were doing the wrong thing. Really are they not just looking after their loyal customers. There were no tissues in the room no shower cap and the room was just in need of an update. We had dinner in the restaurant and noticed the pool gate wasn't closed. My wife notified the waitress who did her best to secure it closed it until the next time someone went in and the gate was left open. Very dangerous if there were small children around. Overall this property is probably not the standard of other Mecure properties and I have stayed in Ibis properties which were comparable.

We certainly can store you bicycle for you. Please see the reception when you are here.

Yes, they have spa suite rooms which are very spacious. The only potential downside is that they are located adjacent to the lift but the very minimal noise transferred did not bother me nor affect my sleep
