Initially I was attracted to the Clifton Motel due to it being located right next to the train station, as well as being one of the cheapest stays in town. But it managed to exceed my expectations.
The room was clean, and the King sized bed was quite comfortable. The water was hot and the shower pressure was solid. There was a mini-fridge in the room, along with a microwave, toaster, and kettle. There was an AC but we didn't need it. We appreciated the small table with two chairs in the room, and had it been a bit warmer we might have used the seating just outside the room.
A breakfast of toast and cereal was delivered to the room the night before which was a nice touch since we were up early. Our room was farthest away from the front, so the wifi could be a little temperamental inside but would reconnect if we just opened the door.
I would have no problem staying here again should I find myself back in Albury.

You shouldn't expect too much when you book the cheapest available motel but the Clifton turned out to exceed all expectations. It's an older building, largely unrenovated, but it's clean and tidy and provides absolutely everything anyone could want or need. We gota cheerful welcome late at night and plenty or courteous assistance. The bed was comfortable and the complementary breakfast adequate. If you are on A budget or just need to sleep while passing through Albury don't waste your money elsewhere.

Can't understand the few negative reviews. Rooms are basic but very clean, beds are comfy, location is central yet relatively quiet, and the friendly proprietors even offer a complimentary basic breakfast. Surely the best value o'nite accommodation in town. Staying here for the second time and will be back

We were pleasantly shocked when we opened the door to our room after the motel's less than appealing street appeal. The room and everything in it was absolutely spotless and the king size bed was so comfortable that I slept the whole night through. Breakfast was included and while not a buffet (hey it was under $100 for the night) it was fresh and adequate. We would definitely stay here again for a night or two if in Albury!

A great central location which was easy to find. A friendly welcome makes you relax as soon as you check in. Room had all basic essentials , kettle, fridge, microwave, toaster, TV, Steam iron, free wi-fi etc. Although dated, it was clean and comfortable with fresh linen and towels. An added bonus was the limited choice of cereal or toast for breakfast which is delivered to your room the night before. Happy to use as a base for longer stay to explore Albury and surrounds.

Cliffton Motel. If you are looking for the highest class 3 star motel you've found it. $77 and by far the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely lady behind the counter, accommodating all our needs. Booked a queen room but ended up with a king bed. Toast and cereal included in the price. If you are wanting the best border stay on a budget. Book here!

Lovely offstreet parking, nicley laid out rooms, in good condition and very clean and well thought out. The welcome was very pleasant and we received helpful suggestions about where to go for dinner. It's vey close to many restaurants. Just a pleasant, low cost stay. The King size bed was great. Everything we needed was there.

Nice location across from the Albury train station. A pub was at the end of the block that had meals available. Breakfast was a continental selection of cereal and bead (delivered the night before). We booked the room through Agoda for $83, therefore we were not expecting much. However, we were pleasantly surprised with the room.
Down side was that there is not enough car packing spaces. No parking available on the street outside the motel.

Wasn’t too sure what to expect when we lobbed in. The place is not flash to look at from the street but it is clean, comfortable, close to the Main Street, close to a pub with a bistro, quiet, and most importantly it’s affordable which includes a continental breakfast. Perfect for an overnight stay. On the downside we had a leaking sink drain- oh well not a major issue. I can see how car parking for large cars would be tight but we had no trouble with our mid sized station wagon. We had a room at the back of the property and it was super quiet.

This little gem is tucked away near the railway station and opposite Officeworks, a short work to a pub for a really nice dinner. The rooms were clean, bed comfy, decor is very retro but looks as though it is being gradually updated. Lots of lovely pot plants everywhere. Our room was tucked away in a corner, would lovely sitting outside when the weather is warmer.
