Reviewers consistently commend the spacious and clean rooms, though some suggest enhancements in service and room readiness. Upon arriving at the Mantra, the foyer was welcoming and check-in nice and straight forward. The staff member at reception was welcoming and explained everything clearly. Car parking was limited to we were glad we had booked it in advance. The Mantra was extremely clean and well maintain and upon walking into our room we were very impressed with the size along with the view. The fridge was smaller than most places we have stayed so limited the size bottles you could use. Bathroom was great and the room itself well kept. We found the bed to be a little to firm for our liking. Upon waking up we had breakfast in the restaurant which was good and the staff very accommodating. The only issue we had was that we had ordered poached eggs and given it a reasonable time before we thought they may be done, though took a lot longer than it should have as the restaurant was that busy at that time. By the time it did arrive the rest of our food had gone cold. Overall though it was a good spot to stay and the issues can be things that they can rectify over time.

We are on our way to Melbourne. Albury is the kind of Midway for us. Last minute we decided to stay one night and continue to our journey. First time I am staying in a hotel in Australia and I am quite impressed with the hotel. Vey very clean, stuff is very friendly. We asked for an extra blanket and lady from the reception came back in 5 min. Location is great. Hotel has a parking but you have to book in advance other wise you can park on the street ( weekend is free) or there is another building next to the hotel you can park there for free.
Rooms are quite big ( we are 4 3 years old and 10 yeara old and me and my husband) I highly recommend those hotel.

We had the most comfortable stay at Mantra Albury last weekend. The hotel is located right in the heart of town, which meant that we could walk everywhere we needed to easily as everything was accessible.

Our rooms were comfortable, and the family room which consists of two adjoining studio apartments was a fabulous treat for our 11 year old.

Our housekeeper during the stay (Cathy) gave our 11 year old a treat when he came back to his room to find his teddy tucked into a comfy little bed made of towels - it was extremely adorable and just shows how much thought and care goes into caring for guests.

All of the staff were welcoming and friendly, from front of house greeting us to the staff in the restaurant serving us. We felt comfortable and happy the whole time we were there.

Parking is limited and your forced to find your own park. Not ideal when there clearly should be some sort of agreement with the multi-story next door. Beware you can be issued a fine for parking too long. Room 502 swipe card was broken. In room safe was not working. Restaurant staff need further training. After a run I requested a drink from the free hotel sparkling but was advised I could only drink this in my room. Crazy when there is free water at the bar! I reluctantly later decided to eat dinner and orderd chips with 'NO' salad and repeated this several times but they came out with chips and was advised she cant change the order. Not sure why she couldnt write this on the docket or speak with the chef!

Second visit as stopover, we are accor gold members arrived on Sunday and were upgraded to nice room overlooking churches across road and mountain views, unfortunately the restaurant and bar was closed for drinks and dinner on Sundays, however we had a nice bottle of chilled wine on arrival to our room. Monday morning woke up to have shower which only dribbled out from wall rose straight down wall, no pressure and had to just rely on waterfall shower which was no pressure as well! Went down for buffet breakfast which was tasty and nice, however only had paper cups for our self serve tea! You would expect proper cups after paying $30 per head! When we went to check out of our room the lady on counter was very unwelcoming, didnt even ask how our room was or our visit, and couldn’t comprehend the discount for our breakfast which we had to explain several times.

First of all the front staff was not cooperative enough. When we asked about redeeming the complementary drinks, she said the bar is closed and they did not inform us about it at the time of booking. Later when we called the reception from the room to ask for ice bucket, they said we do not have enough staff to send it to your room. So I had to go downstairs to get it. I called the manager and asked about this staff issue, he told me that they have enough staff as usual. We already booked for the breakfast the next day, so we went to the restaurant in the morning and did not find enough food half of the plates were empty, no croissant, no sausages etc. Also they did not serve coffee, I asked about the coffee to the staff to which they said you have to pay for the coffee otherwise there is a coffee machine over there if you can make it. Machine was old and completely useless with faded buttons and no milk in it. To this point I was completely frustrated. What is the meaning of breakfast without coffee and especially when I had already paid for the breakfast extra. Completely disappointing experience. Would not recommend anyone to stay there, instead do yourself a favour and book somewhere else and even save some money on your booking because they are expensive.

Very helpful staff and very clean and comfortable room. We stayed for only one night and chose the hotel for its location. The restaurant was closed on the night but there were many dining options within easy walking distance. On site parking was available at a reasonable cost and checkout was quick and easy

After picking up my partner from the airport and narrowly missing a huge down pour of rain and hail in the centre of Victoria we booked ourselves in and also booked dinner in the restaurant down stairs. After showering and resting up from the drive from MtEliza on the Mornington Peninsula my partner, Deb and I enjoyed the best meal I have ever had in the restaurant down stairs at the Mantra. Well done Mantra the Chef, Jade, is a definite keeper. His prowess with food is to be tasted to be believed.

We booked out 4 rooms during our stay.
The people we were travelling with rang multiple times to get fresh towels and could not get any answer from reception. When we booked our rooms, we paid for breakfast and were told that it was ala carte. When we got to the venue, the staff member couldn't tell us if it was ala carte or buffet. When we went down on our first morning, it was buffet but very dismal and not worth the money we paid for it. Flavourless bacon, sausages and eggs and these were not even replenished regularly. When I spoke with the General Manager to advise him we would not be wanting breakfast on our last day, he was terse in his manner.
We also got back to our room on the second night and found that our room had not been cleaned, therefore we had no clean towels. As we were going out for dinner that night, I rang and spoke with the General Manager, Ian. He was again abrupt and did not apologise for the inconvenience. He stated that they had a busy day and that they had prioritised room cleaning for the new arrivals and he did not offer any fresh towels or any other solutions. He told me at 5pm that our room would be gotten to "...in the next hour and a half". Which is ridiculous at the standard we should be able to expect. We ended up having to go and source towels ourselves.
The arrival parking for unloading and loading of luggage is non-existent and there was exposed electrical cables under the sink in the bathroom which is not safe and not up to the expected standard.

If you can put up with the rudeness/incompetence of some of the staff (particularly Ian) you will find a comfortable bed and a good central location but we will NOT be returning!

Response from Ian Muller, General Manager at Mantra Albury
Responded 4 Jan 2022
Dear orrens2015, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay and I'm sorry to hear that you had some troubles with your stay. Mostly, I am sorry to hear that you felt that I was rude, terse and abrupt. I remember the conversations we had and if that is how I came across I can only apologise. It was certainly not my intention and I am disappointed to think that this was the impression that you had of me. To address some of the points you have raised: - You had booked a bed and breakfast rate, which includes a discounted rate for breakfast for the duration of your stay. You had mentioned that you didn't want breakfast for the final morning of your stay, although did not mention it was due to the quality of what you had received on previous mornings. Regardless, I removed the breakfast component and provided a refund. - Regarding the room not being serviced until late in the afternoon, this was the case for everyone who stayed that day. The hotel was at capacity and we were working tirelessly with the team we had to get all of our guests looked after. It was true that we needed to give priority to the arrival rooms so that guests arriving would have rooms to get into, and the team then moved on to the daily servicing after this. The delay was an unfortunate one and I can only apologise for it, but it was an unavoidable scenario given the mass influx of business and the team available. - The exposed cables under the sink are very concerning and I have spoken with our Maintenance Teams to ensure these are made safe for the next guests. Again, I am sorry to hear that you were so disappointed with your stay. You will see from the other comments posted here that our guests generally love our hotel, facilities and team. I can understand your unwillingness to return, but if you were considering staying in Albury again, I would very much like the opportunity to make this up to you. You can reach me directly at ian.muller@mantra.com.au Thank you again and I hope we will see you again soon. Kind Regards, Ian Muller General Manager Mantra Albury

They only have a few spaces in the underground car park - so you’ll most likely be told by a rude staff member that the car park is full and to park on the street.

No pool. No spa. So on a stinking hot summers day in Albury - you really notice the lack of a pool. Who builds a brand new hotel and doesn’t include a pool???? And wants to charge you top dollar for limited facilities
