Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
After reviewing "Paddy's" on another site, my friend and I decided to stay, given the comments others had made. We were sadly disappointed to go to our first room which was, unlike a couple of other reviewers rooms, clean but otherwise not good. The bathroom was closed by using an accordion door which did not reach the floor. The room was small, but we expected this as an economy room. The smoke detector was disconnected from the wall and sitting upon the small, wall mounted desk. I don't know if actually worked. The power points (electric sockets) were scarce and we determined that to keep our mobile devices charged we would have to get a 2 socket adapter and an extension cord. Upon returning from a short shopping excursion, my friend sat upon her bed and found that one of the casters was broken. We were then switched to another room which was a bit roomier, but had both a poorly functioning toilet (the tank didn't fill properly and then would leak once it was full) and the cold tap for the sink wouldn't turn on. We decided we could muddle through and not to change rooms yet again. Later, I discovered that the casement windows in the bathroom were open and couldn't be closed, and that no screen was covering the openings...I expect to be chewed on by mosquitoes in my sleep. The carpet is worn, the fixtures are dodgy looking, the power points are limited. The walls are cracked and in need of a fresh coat of paint. The artwork that should hang on the walls of the room are stuffed between the nightstand and the wall. The walls and doors are thin and other patrons walking through the hall outside of the room are easily heard. The hot water in the shower failed miserably at being hot, although with the hot outdoor temperatures, this was survivable. Thankfully, the mini fridge and the air conditioner worked well.
On the plus side, there was a varied menu and the food was good although not stellar. For starters we tried a scallop and smoked salmon mixture that was dipped in beer batter and fried as well as some boiled wonton type items that had an interesting texture but were otherwise tasty. For our mains (dinner) I ordered the salmon which was in a caper/dill/lemon sauce and served on mashed potato with sweet potato fries. The salmon was quite good although pricey, but the sweet potato "fries" were more like chips and had a slightly off odor and taste as if they had been fried in slightly rancid oil. My friend ordered the seafood pie which was to be in a garlic mornay sauce within a phyllo dough crust. The mornay was not as flavorful as she would have hoped but the meal was otherwise OK. The bar area (beer garden) is spacious but is currently totally outdoors (they are renovating a portion of the ground floor, I'm not sure if there is to be an indoor dining/bar area or not). In one corner of the beer garden, we could smell rotting garbage from the alleyway outside of the fencing, forcing us to relocate to another area of the bar. Beer prices started at $7.50 a bottle and went as high as $14. I didn't look at wine and mixed drink prices. The female toilet in the bar area had four stalls, only one of which had a working lock, but sadly on the one with the working lock, the door was too wide for the opening and wouldn't close properly.
Parking is a nightmare...the car park for the hotel is reached via a narrow alleyway which had only one exit and entrance. This alley also served as the delivery drop off point for multiple businesses and was frequently blocked by delivery vehicles or was blocked by vehicles exiting the car parks off of the alleyway. We finally were able to park in the car park more than 2 hours after first arriving.
The hotel is near to a small mall which includes a Cole's and a KMart. There is a Target across the street. A bottle shop was found by asking a local at a nearby restaurant/bar where one was, and we had to "sign in" to a private club to reach the only one we found within walking distance.
At the time of this writing, it is still about an hour until "Karaoke Night" starts - so far I've not heard the noise of the beer garden, but how that plays out remains to be seen.
I don't expect great things out of pubs but, surely, this could do much better. If I come back to Albury, I will not plan to stay here again.

I visited last weekend as apart of a group of 10, we were greeted by a younger blonde girl who seated us, brought us table water, menus and gave us that "good-going" experience (although dining here before we know this isn't a requirement), we were then waited on by an experienced waiter who quickly corrected their kitchens mistakes. I ordered the linguine, which was a 10/10 and soon after dinner we decided we would stay for a few drinks, although the drink prices are hefty, we were feeling welcomed and enjoying ourselves. Shift duty must have changed and the friendly faces in the "Beer Deluxe Bar" disappeared, waiting at the bar for over 3 minutes (the only customer there) before being acknowledged by what it looked like the managers who were obviously catching up on what had happened the night before, laughing and hugging as I'm standing there waiting for their acknowledgement as I can see both avoiding my eye contact quite blaintly. At this stage, getting quite annoyed I prompted the male and female for some service, copping a dirty look from one and a fake, unapologetic apology from the other. I thought I would try the back of the establishment for my next drink, again feeling welcomed by the man who served me, he answered all questions about their hotel rooms, at this stage I was interested in grabbing one for the night. I was told to wait in reception for who was supposedly the accommodations manager, in casual clothes, abrupt, telling me that surely "$60 wasn't going to break my bank" after asking whether I would be allowed to view one of the rooms before deciding whether I want to spend the extra money at Beer Deluxe. I used to love coming into this bar, watching the staff work and have an all round great time, but lately it seems the attention is focused on the negative attitudes, rather than pleasing their customers".

Paddy's bar is now a boutique beer bar with great food. Great selection of tap beers and bottled boutique beers. The food is great, contemporary pub food, my only complaint being that the burger rolls are very sweet. Now the downside.... Holy mother of €*%§ Why does the music have to be so loud? Over trebled speakers under a cavernous tin roof, the cacophony made what should.have been a pleasant lunch into a guantanamo bay like experience. The wailing infant wasn't the establishment's fault but the combination made me confess all my secrets in an effort to make the pain stop. To the new albury owners: midday lunch is not a midlife crisis pick-up bar, diners don't need the greatest grunge hits of the 90 played at 150 DB.

I stayed here for two nights a I was attending an event in town, so I really didn’t need the room other than for sleeping. I appreciated that the building was secured and you could only enter with a special key for the front door. Friday night was noisy with a nightclub event downstairs but that finished by 1am, Saturday night sleeping was perfect. Car parking is tricky but I managed by parking in the all day underground parking at the shopping centre next door. My room wasn’t the cleanest I’ve ever had, but again, I’m not complaining because the price was great. I’m already planning to stay here again next time I’m in Albury, thanks team.

Although I read the other poor reviews I thought it could not be that bad is it? It was actually dreadful from start to finish. Booked and arrived straight after at 13.30 , told to return at 14.00 hrs as room not ready , returned after 14.00 hrs and provided key , room not serviced returned to staff who could not have cared less, there was nowhere secure to leave my belongings so popped back in car even though had been told not to leave valuables in car by them as not safe .
Returned later on and entered room, it is more than tired , it is shameful , and not even a mattress cover , just a sheet over a really old mattress. As it was now late decided to stay , room was cold unless you put on the incredibly noisy heater . No instructions in room for wifi code etc so returned downstairs to be told that there was info in the room, there was not so went down yet again.

Writing on behalf of my mum. Good if you want cheaper accommodation overnight. Everything's there, food's great. Bed comfortable and clean. Served its purpose. They are currently in the process if renovating, which will address a few issues with windows leaking during rain. Bathroom windows opened right up, which gave a great view, but probably keep an eye on your kids as as there were no security screens! Recommended for a non-fussy budget traveller.

So I drove 6 hours and stopped over in Albury and found this place, you won’t believe how poorly set up it is..
On a Friday and Saturday they have a live DJ that plays until 3am. The beer garden and DJ is located right next to the rooms and it is f*clean loud!
I thought there was a gig going on but no, literally the same establishment that provides accomodation also plays unbelievably loud music too and keeps the guests awake!

I went to beer deluxe for a concert. Started at the bar for a pint which cost me $19. Went into the band room to an overbearing stench of dirty feet. Overall extremely disappointed with the cost and quality of the venue

Really enjoyed our stay at Beer deluxe! It's in the centre of the city and walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. The restaurant/bar is great with lots of variety of yummy food and drinks. The staff were lovely! A big thank you to Brian for making our stay comfortable and going over and above to feel welcome. The rooms are basic, clean and safe and perfect for what we needed. The club downstairs does get quite loud so be prepared (ear buds help to sleep) but if you get the chance to have a good boggie the music won't disappoint! Thanks for having us!

I always held a belief that Mother’s day, Father’s Day and Valentines Day are always good days not to dine out, as it is always busy, the staff are stressed, the kitchen is stressed, and it is frequently not an enjoyable experience. Paddy’s, in the past, has always proved this theory wrong – until Sunday.
My family and I have enjoyed Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and lots of birthday celebrations over the past 5-6 years at Paddy’s. The meals and service have always been fantastic, even on busy days. In the past, it has always run like clockwork.
However, Sunday was a different kettle of fish. I queued for about 30 minutes just to order our meals, our meals weren’t served until about 2 hours after we ordered them, and then my parents said their fish was okay, but their chips were cold. My husband and I shared the Paella, and I must say that I am really pleased that we shared a meal, as I would have hated to pad for a dried up, tasteless paella each. The whole experience, the long wait to order, instead of enjoying time with family, the long wait for meals (my mother is a diabetic and is supposed to eat regularly), and to top it off, to be extremely disappointed with the meals. I didn’t say anything at the time for two reasons: I didn’t want to add to the afternoons unpleasantness by making a fuss, and to send the meals back to the kitchen would have resulted in a lot longer wait, and not necessarily a better meal from cranky and rude staff.
My parents live in Ballina in Northern NSW, hence, I don’t get to spend Mother’s Day with my mother very often, it would have been nice to have a nice afternoon and share a nice meal with my parents, the day before they left to go home.
This was my first visit to Paddy’s since the new look and rebranding to Beer Deluxe. In my opinion, it worked a lot better when it was plain old Paddy’s, that we all knew and loved.
