An absolutely lovely country pub which also happens to do excellent food. We came here for a Sunday lunch and, although the pub was pleasantly busy, we weren't kept waiting. The food was great - my sea bass was cooked beautifully. Service friendly and prompt and beer is also good. Highly recommended.

We were staying locally & ate here 3 times. The Staff had the right mix of friendliness & professionalism. The welcome was very warm The food was very good, with a varied menu & the location lovely. Parking is good but necessary as this is not on a main rd but on a lovely peaceful lane.

After an afternoon at the Bignor Roman Villa we visited the White Horse. A truly fantastic afternoon lunch. Very friendly staff. Excellent chef with a varied menu at great prices. Definitely a stopping point in Sutton, West Sussex.

This pub is without doubt a well run establishment, the staff are very friendly and helpful, with a smile for everyone. The food was imaginative and well presented. Good value for money. However this is a pub in the middle of nowhere and is very cold and stark. It needs a few pictures or village instruments to take away the... More

We stayed here for one night after attending a race meeting at Goodwood. Great pub with delicious food, laid back atmosphere, very comfortable accommodation and friendly staff. We'd love to visit again and stay here when we're next in the area. Excellent value all round.

We visited for lunch after visiting Bignor Roman Villa . Very friendly staff and excellent dining - we enjoyed fresh cod , Scottish mussels and Thai fish cakes followed by an excellent Tarte Tatin and ice cream . One of our party was in her 90's and while the front of the pub had steep steps - it was a... More

We went for an evening meal as we were staying nearby and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I had the gnocchi, my friend had prawns, salad and chips and we both enjoyed the delicious blueberry icecream for dessert. I was disappointed that there was only Doom Bar ale on tap but there was a wide range... More

We stayed mid week with a couple of friends who had not been before and who were highly impressed. Our evening meal was really good and breakfast excellent as usual. Nick, the landlord is not only a first class chef but an excellent host.

Went for an evening meal and have been many times. Pub was unusually empty, but as usual we had a very pleasant meal with drinks. Good selection on the menu to suit most people. A bit out of the way, but always a warm welcome and worth a visit. Recommended.

Just popped in for supper with my husband - atmosphere lovely, roaring log-fire, proper church candles lit on every table whether occupied or not, vases of daffodils everywhere and the food was fab as always. My husband chose from a fish menu (Thursday evening - not sure if fish menu available every night) and I had a salad. Many places... More
