This Mercure Hotel is not too far from the highway travelling south and in the Accor group so has the Accor benefits. It was convenient and quiet even though it is right next to the airport. It has double glazing so you don't hear a any planes. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The staff were helpful and friendly. It had a gated carpark. It was a little more expensive than we are used to but it was what it was at the last minute.

Great spot. Triple glazed windows so no airport noise. Absolutely terrific food! If I lived in Newcastle I would make a point of going there for dinner. The staff were polite, friendly and hard working.

I ordered room service and the next morning suffered from extreme vomiting and diarrhoea. Accompanied by my wife, a registered nurse, she made the diagnosis. When reported to the hotel, the response was “what do you want me to do about it”? Unsatisfactory in our opinion.

Friendly staff, great location within easy walk from Airport, Nicely designed comfortable rooms. A great stopover before my Business Conference over the weekend, especially since flights to my home destination were not available for immediate collection and drop off. Staff friendly and helpful. Food great and as a member 50% most a welcomed saving. Room clean and bed very comfortable. Great overnighter and an enjoyable stay. Only beef I have is the 200 minium characters so I can send my review (No limit should be placed).

From the moment we arrived until we left the service was 5 star. The room was very clean. Every single team member acknowledged us throughout the stay. The restaurant/bar service was on point. The reception team looked after us as our flight was changed by 6 hours so we checked out as late as possible and we waited in the closed bar area however they offered coffee water and snacks. Will definitely return

During my 25 years of owning and operating a tour company, I have stayed with my tour group clients in many, many motels and hotels throughout the eastern states of Australia. Occasionally, an accommodation venue stands out above the rest. Last Friday, I accompanied 30 group members on a four-day tour to the Port Stephens area of NSW. We stayed at the Mercure Newcastle Airport Hotel, at Williamtown, about 30 minutes from the centre of Newcastle, for the three nights of the tour. From the moment I made the initial enquiry back in June 2021, about using this venue for the accommodation component of this tour, I was impressed by the attitude of the staff I dealt with. The negotiations were swift, professional, reasonable and easy. As the date of our arrival drew closer, I dealt mostly with the manager, Mr Marcus Leigh. No matter how many phone calls I made to him relating to the accommodation and meal arrangements, Marcus was always helpful, patient, and informative – nothing was ever a trouble! If he ever got sick of my frequent phone calls, it never showed. I never felt that I was a “pest”, and I never felt “rushed”. I was only ever offered excellent customer service! When my group and I arrived at the Hotel on Friday afternoon, we were greeted by Marcus and other members of his staff. It was one of the warmest welcomes we’ve received in any accommodation venue we’ve stayed in over the years. Every staff member we met during our three-night stay knew the meaning of customer service. They were all so helpful, friendly, personable and attentive. As a tour organiser, it was so refreshing to see my clients being treated so kindly, and being so well looked after. The rooms were quiet, generous in size, modern, spotlessly clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, and the service was superb! The dinners were also excellent, with generous servings, delicious food, and each meal was well-presented. The plates showed that the executive chef and his team take pride in their work. I had the best bread & butter pudding I have ever tasted in my life for dessert on one of the evenings! There is no doubt about it, this service, attention to detail, and friendliness of every staff member we encountered during our stay, does not happen by accident. I believe it starts at the top with Marcus, the manager. He runs a unified, dedicated, efficient and well-trained team of staff. When we were departing yesterday morning, a number of my group members said they wished they could stay a bit longer; they had enjoyed their stay so much. A huge “thank you” to the manager, Marcus, and his wonderful team for making my group’s stay so pleasant, inviting and memorable. A special mention also goes to the executive chef, Marc, the head of housekeeping, Anne, and the front desk staff, Mariela and Lara. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at this hotel. We’ll be back! If you’re ever in this area of New South Wales, you certainly won’t regret making this lovely hotel your base for exploring the area, or for a one-night stay if you’re just passing through.

We, once again, stayed at this hotel for one night. Staff were most welcoming and pleasant. Room was very clean. Breakfast, because of covid and the restaurant being closed, was served in the room and was most enjoyable and hot. We would not stay elsewhere when in this area.

It was only a one night stay. We had a problem when we ordered a cab that never arrived and had to change our travel mode to Newcastle. The bar being closed and no breakfast unless room service was somewhat annoying but understandable
