This B&B is located just outside Te Anau, on a beautiful spot with great views. Beautiful house with nice rooms, good beds, good bathrooms. Great hospitality and delicious breakfast. Just the place where you want to stay longer!

The Prospect Lodge is exceedingly comfortable and welcoming thanks to its hosts. It is located five to ten minutes from town and a few minutes from major access points to the Kepler Track. The setting is quite beautiful, the rooms well-appointed/comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was very good, and Joan was accommodating. Te Anau is, of course, a great launching point...

We just had 2 special nights here. The setting is majestic. Wonderful warmth and hospitality from Joan and Ross. A perfect place to use as a base for Milford Sound. Can't recommend it highly enough. Joan was very helpful in recommending tour options and restaurants in Te Anau.

This is a magnificent guest house, the views are awe inspiring, and good hospitality. The rooms are lovely, well appointed, bed comfy, but you keep being drawn back to the views. Joan is a great host, very friendly, and on our second night she prepared a wonderful platter for us, which made for a lovely evening. Thank you, we would...

We stayed at the Prospect Lodge after finishing a 3-day tramp on the Kepler Track. We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to relax and unwind in luxury. The view of Lake Te Anau was breathtaking, the room was spacious and comfortable, and Joan's hospitality and morning breakfasts made us feel right at home. Although the lodge is not...

The beauty of the view over Fiordland and the kindness as well as the discretion of the hosts Joan and Ross are remarkable. The lodge is decorated with exceptional taste. The garden is beautiful on the right of the room area and the breakfast is very tasty, healthy and neatly presented. We were invited for an apéro in the living...

Just wanted to dash off a quick review: the Owners, Joan and Ross and particularly nice people, especially Joan. They have a few really nicely appointed rooms and I definitely recommend their place. We stayed 3 nights and felt ourselves to be lucky to have landed there. Oh, and you will be amazed at the view out across their back...

Our first touring holiday in NZ and this was our first lodge. Whilst we'd done lots of research pre the holiday (because as veteran luxury hotel users this was a step into the unknown) we remained nervous about what we might find. No need to worry. We drove the 900m from the road to the lodge, through the fields of...

Secluded and beautiful bed and breakfast, nestled just out of Te Anau. The near new property is an architectural delight and you can see no expense has been spared in the fixtures and fittings. There are two self contain rooms which are connected to the main house, but offer enough privacy and comfort to lock yourself away if you wish....

Whilst you will need a car to get to this accomodation, as it's a couple of kms from town centre you will not be disappointed. Beautiful views across Lake Te Anau, this accomodation has great breakfasts with options, continental plus cooked. Joan your host has plenty of information about the local surrounds and was able to offer some great dinner...

Following the loss of their well known homestead to fire in 2007, Ross & Joan have rebuilt on their farmland overlooking Lake Te Anau. This new lodge, opened in 2011, continues to offer the same fantastic service and luxurious comfort offered previously, only situated on a ridge overlooking Lake Te Anau, the Te Anau township and the mountains of Fiordland, a view that takes your breath away. With two beautifully appointed guest rooms with lake views and private terraces, en-suite bathrooms and luxury bedding, the Lodge is a fabulous place to base yourself while visiting Milford or Fiordland. ... more   less
