The sites are located in a park-like, very well-kept area with great attention to detail. The artwork of the owner, Tonnie Spykerbosch, who unfortunately passed away in 2023, is unique. His family continues to run Creeksyde with dedication and high standards. They are a very friendly and helpful team! The toilet and shower facilities are spread throughout the campground and are very clean.
Some sites are a bit cramped, but you can usually find a private niche, and no one comes to the campsite in Queenstown to sit around anyway. At first glance, the site seems expensive, but the high parking fees in Queenstown (if you can even find a parking space) make up for it. And you avoid the heavy traffic that winds from Frankton to the centre of Queenstown. Creeksyde is a five-minute walk from the Queenstown CBD. There are two Supermarkets nearby.
Overall, it is a highly well-run park with a feel-good factor and a cosy atmosphere that is not usually associated with New Zealand campsites. Booking well in advance is recommended.

I set up a tent near the eastern edge on (site E) of the site right next to the creek. It leaked the first night, so I bought 3 sponges for $5 (which removed the water easily) and installed my Hennessey hammock's waterproof fly over the top of the tent. That created a mostly dry inner, but the edge that the fly did not cover still leaked. I would have preferred to be in my Hennessey hammock, as I know it does not leak, and I did find 2 trees on (site F) next to me that would have worked much better than the tent.

Great location, & proximity to town, for my xmas New Year stay in QT for 23/24. Stayed here for 10 nights over the holidays in one of their Ensuite units downstairs at The Lodge. My unit was one with a Dbl & a Sgl bed in the room providing a bit more space. A mini bench, sink & mini fridge, basic crockery & cutlery, for eating pre prepared/takeaway food and tea & coffee making was a real benefit, plunger coffee making was much appreciated. There was room for maybe a single hotplate setup on the bench for some rudimentary meals, (if allowed), no pots/pans etc provided though, not really required as one of two kitchens was within 30 meters, and you get to meet others. The bathroom was all i required, though could of done without the excessive HUMMMMMMM of the light/extractor fan though. Decor was straight out of the 70's/80's BUT all in all the unit was very clean, very tidy, not modern my any means, but fits in with the slightly quirky nature of the whole place. Best of all, car park space right outside the door. A little street noise though not excessive by any means. They advertise the unit at $99 lo season, $149 hi season, i paid somewhere in between, BUT the lo season price is nowhere to be found on their booking system, i was advised that the $99 doesn't get charged anymore, so a bit misleading. All in all, i would stay again, if they'll have me after this review.

We had a fantastic stay at this campervan park. I booked it 8 months in advance (December is high/busy season!) and was rewarded with a powered site right beside the great kitchen facilties and bathrooms. Showers were hot and the kitchen had a hot water tap which was fantastic for early coffee and dishes. The washing machines were close, and when one caused me problems a staff member immediately rectified (and gave me a free dry cycle!). Staff helpful with question and the location was perfect for walking to town and the ammenities around. Highly recommend.

This holiday park served us well as an inexpensive place to stay two nights within a 15 minute walk of Queenstown cente and beach. We stayed in a small en-suite room (actually over reception) and it was a bit tight. The bathroom basin served as a place to wash and a place to do the dishes. It was clean (but not serviced) and had a toaster, small amount of crockery and cutlery but no cooking facilities. Good wi-fi and a large screen TV. The bed was comfy and there was a small table for eating and working. Also an ingenious rack for suitcases and hanging clothes! Loads of hot water! But it was hot in the flat! No air conditioning - but a very useful fan that we left on all night. Easy car parking. Staff were helpful and friendly. There was a laundry and even a place to hose down and clean your car. We paid £172 for two nights. Close by is a supermarket selling most things (think M&S in the UK) but only open from 8am to 6pm.

Thank you for your detailed review! We’re glad to hear that our holiday park worked well for your stay in Queenstown. It’s great to know you appreciated the clean room, comfy bed, and handy amenities. We also appreciate your feedback about the lack of air conditioning. We've recently experienced an unusually long, hot, and dry period in Queenstown, and we're happy to hear that the fan helped during your stay. It’s great that the Wi-Fi and TV were up to your expectations too! We hope you had an enjoyable time overall, and we’d love to welcome you back next time you're in the area!

We really liked this campsite, it’s fairly small and contained which gave it a nice vibe. The layout of the campsite is nice allowing pockets of campers, rather than everyone all in one big parking lot.

The facilities were very close walking, and the showers and toilets always very clean. Campsite is well maintained and easy to access drinking water and dispose of grey water. Location is excellent proximity to centre of queenstown, about 7 min walk, which we loved and enabled us to get into the town quickly and easily.

Only small comment would be that some of the camp plots are too close together. We managed to get moved to a creek view which gave us much more space, the plots in the middle of the campsite are tight. Especially if you plan to put an awning up and tables/chairs.

That said we would return here.

The location is quite central to the city centre, just 15 min walk with narrow roadpath at the campsite. Cooking utencils and dish washing detergent provided. Very unique and creative designs eg toilets murals, artifacts of the water point, etc.. Even has an outdor filtered water top-up point. Though the toilet cubicles are not many - only 3, but has a few groups of toilets at different locations - so overall sufficient for the communal users. No regrets staing there for 2 nights at the powered campsite. Construction roadworks still ongoing at the city centre in Nov 2022, so driving into city centre esp. with a large vehicle like 6 berth motorhome is not recommended. Overall enjoyed my stay here at Creeksyde.

Excellent stay to start and end our camping road trip from Queenstown. Easy to get to by bus (little walk uphill) from the airport. Close to shops and town centre. Grassy sites, close to amenities that were clean, with nice hot showers. Even have filtered drinking water, which you need as the tap water is heavily chlorinated. Had a great time

This campsite is very close to central town for a Ferg’s burger (a must while in Queenstown) and the lake front area with a super market only 200 mtrs away.
This place so well planned out that most spots have some privacy, with multiple areas with bathrooms and kitchens as well as clearly labeled rubbish & recycling areas. The property is full of quirky things that add to the character including the dump station and one of the bathrooms.
Bathrooms are immaculate with cleaning crew regularly zipping around the property on golf carts.
We’ve stayed at the other campsite by the gondolas before and this holiday park is much preferred and you don’t have to climb the steep steps to get down to town.
We would highly recommend this to anyone who is planning to stay in Queenstown in a camper van

Great place to stay with a motorhome - our site was equipped with a grey water drain, water and power so it was great. Getting a site with grey water drains is hard to find so we loved this. It meant we didn’t have to empty ours all the time. Really great spot right by the main building. Would definitely stay again
