Good choice for Queenstown. The hostel is bright and sunny and very clean. Host is very nice and charismatic and gave us lots of good tips on what to do and where to eat in Queenstown. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't good during our 4 nights, but the host also had plenty of good advise for the wet days. Would recommend...

I stayed at scallywaggs two weeks and was absolutely amazed by the very uniqueness of this place. The owner Evan raised this buissnes by heart as you can see in many details. It is a very cosy, quiet and clean place with an absolutely stunning view. As it has been the cold time of the year Evan gave me a...

Get to know the owner of Scallywags and you will never forget your stay here. The Guest House has personality and charm. I met a number of other travelers that became good friends. The property is about a ten minute walk to the heart of town. Its a quiet and relaxed setting with tremendous hospitality.

We stayed in february for 2 weeks in a nice double room with a great view. the place is a fair walk into town up a fairly steep hill but worth it. Evan the owner is a unique guy. He picked us up from the bustop which was nice. He has lots of useful info for travelers, and shares all...

Scallywags is one of the most memorable places I've ever stayed at! It felt like home from the first day with a very special cozy atmosphere. Always clean. Evan is an experienced travelling gentleman, such an interesting personality and knows New Zealand very well. Great location, short walk to the centre and a beautiful view. Parking at site. I know...

Our stay at Scallywags made the time in Queenstown even more special and we kept extending it because we enjoyed it so much. Evan, the host of the guest house, is a treat, and knows so much about the surrounding areas and traveling in general. He has some really good stories to tell, and if you show respect for the...

For start, the guest house located in a very confusing area, we called to ask for directions and answered rudely "you will manage by your own". When we finally arrived, the manager showed us the place - creepy rooms with teddybears for each bed, without any sheets. (if you want- you can buy dirty ones or clean ones..?!) When we...

Found the place by fluke but really enjoyed it. Evan, the owner knows his stuff and the area so well. He has a lot of suggestions on what to do and where to get the cheapest and best food. He even has a rainy day list of things that comes out on the dining table when the weather is not...
