It's a small boutique place. We stayed during New Year so price was really high. The positives were good size room, luxurious feel, clean room, breakfast was included, free parking was available but limited so we parked on the street outside and it was free as well. Rooms have aircon. The girl at the front desk help us by giving great suggestions on what to do for the day. The negatives were that the location is not really at the CBD and with an uphill climb back from CBD. Distance from central area is about 8-10 mins. walk. No available staff during the night so technically not really a hotel if you want that kind of a service or attention. The bed was a bit too soft for my taste. We were also on the 2nd floor so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs and down on check-out.

Amazing staff who really go out of there way to make you feel welcome and can’t do enough for you, they are certainly a credit to this establishment. The hotel puts on a complimentary happy hour each late afternoon where you can mingle with other guests over a wine, beer and nuts. The location is ideal, just a short walk of around 3 minutes to the centre of town, the rooms are very clean and eclectic which makes a lovely change over a boring standard looking room and the beds are extremely comfortable. Definitely worth staying here for the service given, the location and it’s just a fabulous boutique style hotel.

Comprises of 15 boutique rooms only, this is an older hotel completely refurbished so you are immensely special, and Maria the asset of the house makes you feel like a million dollars!
Very unassuming from the road, but you only surprise your senses on entry.
The fact the took an older building under there wing to restore aids to its warmth & a feeling of home.
Communication was excellent from Maria, before & during.
The central’s warm hues and dark mood lighting hug you on entry, you barely see anyone else, the room was large, divinely decorated with outstanding views of the gondolas.
The bed was dreamily comfortable with scrumptious pillows, for a deep rest.
In a place like The Central, it’s about service and this comes in abundance from Maria.
The smell of freshly toasted muesli wafting thru the hotel, the beautiful presentation of fresh wholesome breakfasts served at your whim, daily happy hour, and treats everywhere.
Twice we could not make the complementary happy hour due to flight delays & the trip to the Milford sounds, but Maria left us delightful treats to make us feel at home upon our return.
Maria’s recommendations for dinner & making the reservation finished our last nite off spectacularly.
We booked this thru Luxury Escapes, but to be honest, I would just call direct to Maria, she makes everything easy.
Would go back in a heartbeat & no hesitation in recommending.

This small hotel is in a fabulous location - 2 mins to walk to Queenstown Gardens which are lovely, and 5 minutes walk to the town centre. Perfect. Our road was lovely, spacious, views overlooking the trees in the park opposite. The bed was a bit soft for us, but guess that is a personal taste. King size bed, two armchairs, little stool and tables, little area for kettle and tea, coffee, hot chocolate, tv, nice hot shower. Breakfasts were great. Manageress, Maria is absolutely wonderful, so pleasant and helpful. We would stay here again.

Frequently stay in QT for a weekend break and was super impressed with The Central. Personable staff showed us our room and the shared spaces. Our room was large and very comfortable with outside seating with a view of the gondola. I’m a bed snob and our king was very comfortable. Tasty continental breakfast and evening drinks with snacks was included in our package (Luxury Escapes) in the shared lounge. Hotel had a calm and welcoming feel. Very central, short walk through the park to the CBD. Parking included. Will definitely be back and have recommended it to friends.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate a special birthday. We arrived late but made our way in with an email from Pippa outlining what we needed. Once in the room there was a complimentary bottle of wine and a gin tasting which was lovely.

Our room was warm and inviting and filled with other nice touches eg a huge double spa bath with crystal s, tea and bath salts. The tea and coffee included T2 teas. We also had the option of going down to the bar area which had more tea and an espresso machine. There were also complimentary juices, soft drinks and lollies. Our bed was a dream and this part of town is well away from all the noise from the roadworks and building that's taking place at present. We slept really well.

Breakfast the next morning was healthy and delicious with muesli, berries, Greek yogurt alongside sourdough toast and house made preserves.

Drinks are served in the bar B&B style between 5 and 6pm each day. Pippa plays host and chats or leaves you alone as required. Misha too was very friendly and charming (as was the other woman working breakfast who's name I didn't get).

Overall I LOVED this hotel and found myself messaging friends to tell them they would love it too. Arty, funky but not pretentious. A real feel of caring underpins everything here. Sure there's no spa or pool area but I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Highly recommend this hotel - Fran on reception was amazing checking us in! Apples for guests to snack on was so thoughtful too. Parking on site is great for the busy streets. We were lucky to have room T6 which had the most amazing view of the hill and a window out the side looking up the backpackers way. Huge room with seating to enjoy the view while your partner was getting ready. Huge bath which we were both able to soak in after a long day travelling, love the Manuka honey products. Great wifi. A short walk into down down the (very) steep hill or through the gardens. We did not have breakfast but the dining area looked cosy and tables outside to enjoy the sun. Everything you need!

Booked and paid for this hotel before Covid and really appreciated being able to keep payment in credit until borders reopened and we were able to take the trip. Staff are very customer focused. We were given a large comfortable room and appreciated all the small touches like excellent continental brekkie, evening wine and nibbles and, most importantly, the ability to store our bags wile we were away walking the Milford and Routeburn tracks.

I found The Central Private Hotel by Naumi Hotels while looking for a place to stay in Queenstown for Gay ski Week. We have stayed in Queenstown many times over the years in a lot of the places that are popular in town so were happy to try something new.

By the looks of the website the hotel looked cool and funky which we love.

When arriving at the hotel we were surprised at how small it looked from the outside but once inside we were pleasantly surprised at how stunning it was. The place is larger than it appears. The decor is so artsy and tasteful and the rooms are spacious and well appointed.

The beauty of this hotel is you can tell they actually care. The lovely French girl who welcomed us and looked after us the majority of the time we were there, is SUCH an asset to the hotel. She was welcoming, explained things to us and always was happy to see us come and go. She also helped to clean the rooms each day which was always done amazingly.

The hotel is close to the centre of town so very convenient and also not too badly priced at all.

The room comes with its own little mini bar with free drinks, cream topped milk and even snacks!

Downstairs in the bar area there are nightly, free flowing drinks happy hour, with an old-fashioned Kiwiana Sweet Station and warming espresso station. while you mix and mingle with other travellers.

There is also a sauna to warm the bones after a day of skiing and a lovely garden to spend some time soaking up the sun.

Everything about the hotel has been well thought out. It's truly a gorgeous hotel. I will definitely be returning and suggesting to anyone who is visiting Queenstown. Such a special find this one!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Central Private Hotel, from the time the lovely Maria organised our check in to our departure. Maria, you are amazing - nothing seemed too much trouble and everything you did was with your gorgeous smile.
Our room was spacious and well-appointed, with a huge bath for two. The lounge was a delightful spot for breakfast (delish), coffee and Maria's divine cookies and evening drinks meeting other guests. At all times we felt so at home and welcomed.
As it snowed during our visit, we were so grateful to come 'home' after a day out to a toasty warm welcome.
