This is a nice, modern, clean hotel. Views from every corner of any area. The onsite restaurant is a nice addition as there's not much in walking distance and the chef prepared an enjoyable meal. Comfy bed, clean throughout. I will have to come back in Winter to get the postcard view. Staff were helpful anywhere. There is bike tracks everywhere to take in the scenery if you're that way inclined. Or just stay in the nicely appointed room with a bottle of red. Enjoy!

Right from start to finished this place was great. Staff were lovely and breakfast was amazing, something for everyone.
Unbelievable nightly rate for a modern and very clean room.
We left our car in hotel car park and bused into town as bus stop was right outside, on main road but im guessing walking into town would take about 45 min.
This would be one of the quietist rooms we have ever stayed in as you cant hear anything from the next door rooms.
Only one negative would be just a little more upkeep on the grounds is needed.

First time visitor to this establishment in Queenstown , previously having stayed at Heritage and Hilton .
Praise first to whom it’s due which is clearly the staff .
From the moment of checking in I have encountered nothing but helpful and courteous staff , trying their best to assist every way .
I booked the more expensive larger lake view room which I believe was recently renovated .
Adequately appointed with two queen size beds , decent sized TV I found the bathroom being separated by a opaque window slightly odd as the set up allows the bathroom light to wake up the other guest should it be necessary to use it at night .
Also I am sure it’s not everyone’s fetish to observe the silhouette of your colleague showering through it ....weird ....unless you’re on honeymoon.
As mentioned the TV was a nice size ( and I know most are here to ski and not watch TV) but it lacked programs with only TV 1-3 and bravo and a few others being available . Channels such as CNN BBC movies etc the hotel did not subscribe to.
This particular hotel also has TV outages at least once every half hour .Other local hotels don’t seem to experience this .
As regards the bathroom , the size is economic but the shower is comfortable with good shower pressure .
The servicing of the room left a lot to be desired .
I happened to have had a foot injury which left some blood stains on the sheet which took three days to be changed .
I witnessed the room being serviced within about 5 minutes which I guess does not make thoroughness possible .
The complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate sachets were also not always replenished daily .
The minibar is not stocked and thus not serviced .
As regards the lake view , the rooms open up on level 5 to a thin garden strip through a sliding door which at the best of times offers no privacy as kids from neighbouring rooms as well as adjacent guests run/walk past it within a distance that’s too close for comfort .
Another major inconvenience is parking .
Daily we had to worry about a parking space being available as all spaces were almost always jam packed .
The breakfast buffet was simple and I feel not worth the price as it lacked variety and many times was understocked .
I would not bother including it next time but rather eat in town .
Although the view of the lake was nice I feel that if you have transport you can do better by staying at a place like the Hilton which at the time of my booking was similar in pricing .
The big pluses are this staff and view and these can be obtained at competitive hotels at the same or even cheaper prices .
Will not return ......

We booked 2 nights here while helping our son shift furniture into his holiday apartment just down the road. We were upgraded to a lake view apartment which was great as we could see our son's apartment from our patio, and it was an easy walk.
The room was lovely and clean, the bed very comfortable and we loved the soft and firm pillows, one each! I had a bad back at the time and I did find the shower over the bath quite hard to get in and out of as it was a deep bath. My only other criticism about the room was that it would have been handy to have a tea towel and a cloth in the refreshment cupboard. The fan in our bathroom also stayed on, and reception said they would check it out when we checked out.
We did enjoy the buffet breakfast, included in the price, and it was lovely sitting in the dining room in the morning sun with the glorious views. The food was excellent.
We both thought the grounds of the hotel looked rather neglected and there was a bit of rubbish about, which let down the place a bit.

I give this hotel 5 dots on service in a heartbeat. From the gentleman who helped a very tired me book a Milford Sound cruise and I was making the decision more difficult than I should have, to Monika that hunted down a rag to wax my hiking boots, to Daria and her coworker in the dining room who were super friendly. Even the security guy that had to help me with the in room safe was helpful. I docked a dot because I had a hard time controlling the room temperature and had a difficult time sleeping because I'm sensitive to temps. This is between the airport and town central so you will hear airplanes, but there aren't any flights between 10PM and 7AM so you won't have to worry about noise. They have a 7 passenger van that will shuttle you downtown, but it books up fast. You can take a public bus, but be on the watch when returning to the hotel. The buses drive fast and you have to ring for a stop, so you have to move fast when you come around the corned. It's about an additional 5 minute walk if you miss the bus stop at the bottom of the hill. The food in the dining room is very good if you want to eat there after a long day. Also, I consider this more of a motel because the room doors access directly outside. There is no elevator, but there is a shuttle cart to assist you if you need it.

Rooms are nice and comfortable but FOOD HORRIBLE. Breakfast is just bearable for a hotel, you’ll get better food for the same price at any cafe nearby, coffee machine was horrid. Dinner was below average and by far one of the worst meals we’ve had while in NZ, store bought frozen calamari, lamb was tender but blow your head off spicy and the dessert was passable and likely microwaved and store bought. Staff are friendly and helpful and try hard. Worth staying if you get a discount but definitely not worth staying overall.

Our family was there for 4-5 days the end of October and beginning of November and we could not wish for a better stay to begin our first trip to NZ! Beautiful place with blooming bushes, cabbage trees, and other flowers in their well-maintained gardens and grounds; a spacious room with balcony where we had dinners and marveled the magnificent and tranquil views of the lake, the Remarkables mountains, and the vibrant landscapes; a modern and clean bathroom; and a convenient location a short distance from and in the middle between the city center and the airport! Staff was nice and helpful. Special thanks to Monica who helped us select the room and greeted us on our arrival, answered questions about the kiwi house (which we recommend as it’s not so easy to spot the kiwi bird in the wild) and gave us directions for the walk to the city. The weather was nice and sunny when we arrived in the early morning after long flights (12 hr international and 2 hr domestic), so we were eager to get back on our feet. The walk to the City center alongside the lake was invigorating with photo worthy views every other step. We took the gondola and then went on the Ben Lomond Track, which was about another 2-3 hours hike and were rewarded with gorgeous views of the lake and mountain peaks. The next day we did the Queenstown Hill, which was shorter and more popular with also good views. The last day, it rained in the night and for a couple of hours in the morning and the mountains got covered all in magnificent snow white caps! The tours we booked before we arrived in NZ took us from the hotel with exception of one, which started from the city center. The bus stops are right in front of/below the hotel. The uphill was not an issue for us – that’s what brings the great views. We took a taxi when we arrived from the airport (cost about NZD30). The bus to the City was NZD2 cash (and NZD1 with card). I wasn’t aware but we asked the staff and were told there was a bus to the airport, as well, which we took. If we are fortunate enough to come back, this hotel will be our first choice!

Grab one deal utilised which included a $50 food credit for the dine-in service.
Room was pretty nice and very clean. I was happy to know that cleaning was being done more thoroughly due to covid. Unfortunately this may have attributed to the late cleaning of our rooms which were unable to be serviced until 5pm. After an active day out, coming back to a clean room would've been nice. The restaurant food was surprisingly good and all 6 of us enjoyed our meals. Staff are friendly and attentive and i liked the view of the mountains and lake from our room.

Clean enough and close enough to Town but the accomodation is a little outdated and small. It served its purpose for three nights but nothing to rave about. If you want something functional that isn’t going to cost an arm and a leg then the Holiday Inn will suffice.

We stayed here for 4 days on the most beautiful days of the year. Sun shining the whole time yet not too hot so it did not test the place too much. We were lucky to get a room with a balcony overlooking lake Wakatipu so we could sit out and watch the passing boats, and car traffic beside the lake. It is unfortunately a busy road so can get tricky when you want to turn right towards Queenstown.
The restaurant was very nice, good food, friendly service. There is also a spa which we didn’t get time to use. Location is good in between Queenstown and Frankton, if you have a vehicle. It meant we explored the Frankton area with the market on Saturday , golf club, Remarkables Park shopping centre, Pauli’s fish and chip van and Giovi’s Italian restaurant and Windy Point for the best views of the whole area.
All up a very pleasant stay.
The only negative was the very loud exhaust fan in the bathroom which comes on when the light is on. Not sure if all rooms were the same but 114 is. To the admin. You could disconnect this fan as there is another in the room with a pull rope switch which could do the job.

No shuttle when I was there but there is a bus stop across the road with 2 routes that stop there and cheap fares to town.
$15 a night
Hi James,
It's a bit too far to walk, as it'll take you 20 to 30 minutes. There is a public bus stop on the main road just down from the hotel.
There are a number of hotels closer to town, as you really need transport to stay at the Holiday Inn.
Hope you have a great visit to Queenstown.
Hello Rachael,
Our breakfast timings are from 7am to 10am every day. If you are leaving earlier than 7am, we can arrange a continental packed breakfast. Please check with the reception and we can help you with that.
