Having been in NZ for nearly two weeks we wanted to splurge on 3 nights in Queenstown. Incredibly disappointed to spend a considerable amount of money on a very tired, old and unkept room. The bed is horrendous. You sit on it and nearly touch the floor. The view is the only thing going for this place yet you can't...

We stayed there for 5 night, with absolutely no doubt the views from the lake view rooms were the best feature of this hotel, WOW WOW WOW!!!!, I find the reception staff fine, fairly standoffish, now as friendly as I find in the rest of the Rydges properties, breakfast was OK, limited selection, I am not sure who's decision was...

We stayed at this hotel for four nights and whilst everything was adequate, it just seemed this hotel was older and more outdated than the other Rydges that we have stayed at. The hotel is a short walk from the city centre and is right on the lake which makes for some magical views from the rooms. The rooms are...

Spent three nights here in April 2015. Staff in restaurant and also the reception very good. Meal in restaurant was good except for a cold steak which was quickly replaced. Room clean and a good hot shower.

We stayed for only three nights but were very happy with this Hotel. It was close to town, easy walking distance and flat walking along the lake. We had a beautiful view of the lake and our room was comfortable. We had breakfast twice and dinner once and were happy with food and service. Staff were friendly and helpful. We...

I certainly wouldn't score this hotel with a 1 as some people have but it certainly has some issues. We were on the 10th floor which had an amazing view (see photo) however to get to the room from the elevator we had to walk past a mini building site where they were renovating one of the rooms. The hotel...

Real shame about hotel as the location is stunning. Tired and in need of complete overhaul. Very dirty inside - the bar area was a disgrace carpets and seats all stained and smelt like an old persons home. Windows dirty which given the vista was very disappointing - and that's all windows in facility- restaurant, bar area (inside & out)...

Clearly the Rydges has seen better days, as this room was a major disappointment. We had a budget room triple, but were informed when we arrived that our room had bunkbeds! That means essentially the whole room is taken up by two bunkbeds, meaning there is no place to sit without hitting your head on the above bunk or the...
