We visited in early February; it was being refurbished externally because there was scaffolding on the front side walls. The painting work did not really bother us in anyway however. It aims to be a bit of a better class of hotel and the public lounge bar area is very good; it's light and spacious with lots of comfortable seating....

The hotel is very beautiful. The room is big and comfortable, but it doesn't offer the amenities needed for eating, like glasses of wine, plates, cutlery or pots. What really upset us was the restaurant's service. It was terrible! We didn't have breakfast included in our reservation, but we decided to eat there. It was 15 dollars each, but the...

The public rooms are lovely and overall we were pleased that we stayed here. It's a ten minute drive into Queenstown and compared to Queenstown's liveliness is a haven of peace and quiet. Our room overlooked the Shotover River and was huge with a beautiful view and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower great, but the furniture...

It is obvious that this hotel needs a lot of renovation, even recepton desk is very dated but: 1. view from the room and from the restaurant are one in a million 2. you cannot miss their cinema room. It was absolutely great idea to watch The Lord of the rings once again there. Very big and comfortable sofas, great...

The outlook from the rooms overlooking the river and mountains is unbelievable! Surrounded by mountains, some with snow on top even though we were here in summer, one found it hard to leave your room to go sightseeing in other areas. The rooms are extremely large and well equipped with cupboards, draws and shelves and spacious bathrooms. However here is...

We booked 2 rooms here for 2 nights, and were impressed with the room overlooking the valley by the incredible view. Both were comfy large and well stocked, although the hotel was a little tired decoratively, it was undergoing redecoration externally. There was a lovely spa and a Burmese restaurant, but one tip, what looked like a competively priced menu...

Kia ora Barnsey, Thank you for your review and feedback. Once we have completed the external redecoration we move to the internals of the hotel. I have shared your comments with regards to the meal with our wait staff as it is our recommendation that you do order two dishes and rice per person. This should have been explained to...

With stupendous views over the gorge of the Shotover River, friendly, helpful staff, a delightul restaurant and comfortable rooms this hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in. It is not an ultra modern, minimalist hotel. It could be seen as slightly dated but definitely not 'tired' and for me I believe that this adds to the...

This is up there with the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Loved the decor, restaurant, pool room, suite, view, location. I could have stayed for an extended period at any time of the year. We are already making plans to return to Nugget Point at the earliest possible occasion.

We went wit friends to the resturant at this hotel. We had never been before but had seen a write up in a local paper. The unusual menu of Burmese dishes lived up to expectations. We sampled several dishes from the menu by all dipping into the food as it arrived in waves from the kitchen. The prawns, squid and...

This boutique hotel is well located in a quiet setting environment, only a short drive from the downtown, the staff were friendly, the room has decent size, old style but clean. the view was just amazing overlooking the river.
